New to the group? Introduce yourself here

I've been writing for 20 years but just this year published my first book. After my friends and a few family members bought it, I sat and watched my various sales platform reports for signs of life. A sale here, a sale there. Hmm. Now what? Like most writers, I prefer to write than sell. Alas, selling buys time to write. lol
So, I'm learning. I'm doing the research, getting myself out there. I'm finding that reviews are one of the most important things I need to get going for me at this moment in time. All the feedback I've received is positive, I just need more of it! You know how it is. Well, in the process I've discovered that I really enjoy reading and reviewing the works of others. This group seemed a perfect place for such mutual back-scratching. =)
I particularly enjoy memoirs, fantasy and sci-fi and will be searching for these sorts of things to review.
So, I'm just going to mention my book here, then post more about it under "Review requests: memoir giveaway" or some such. Yeah? So, the book is "Free to Be: How I Went From Unhappily Married Conservative Bible Believer to Happily Divorced Atheistic Humanist in One Year and Several Complicated Steps." True story. =)
Happy reading!
Hi
I am the author of An Unreasonable Woman, historical fiction set in Victorian Britain and Africa. The novel follows the lives of a rebellious young woman and a straight-laced officer who are destined to meet and fall in love under the shadow of a war between the British and the mighty Zulu tribe.
I would really like to hear what anyone out there thinks of my novel.

I read just about anything, particularly historical fiction, local interest or thriller. I am academic and creative. Just finding my true passion for reading. I am starting to write too sort of finding my style. When your inspired by art it makes you want to reciprocate. I am a keen reviewer too. Cheers..

I have been writing steadily for ten years, mostly for the stage, and the process for being "accepted" there is far different than it is for self-publishing a novel. You send out plays and hear (accepted/ rejected) or don't hear (tantamount to being rejected.) Novel publishing by the self is far more bi-emotional, both tantalizing and frustrating, some times both at the same time. I published a thriller titled UNSETTLE THE SCORE which has received several high ratings on Amazon, and I have sold some books: those are the tantalizing part. Then everything seems to grind to a halt--the frustrating part--and I find myself beating the bushes for the next jump.
I'm sure all of you who have been self publishing know all this. I do not want anyone to hear this as a complaint: I am just describing something that is new for me, which is good because I am continuing to learn. I joined Goodreads as part of my attempt to understand the process of self-publishing, and it has opened me up to new procedures and lots of wonderful people. New for me is writing reviews, which sharpens my eye, and blogs which allow me to bla-bla-bla a bit (not unlike this post.)
Anyway, I would love for any of you who like suspense novels to take a look at my book. It comes in two flavors, hard-copy book and Kindle.
Thank you.
Jeff

Hi all newcomers :) Hope you're settling in well! If you have any questions, just ask Rebecca or myself.

Nice to be part of the group, eden

My name is Sarah Parry and I am the author of Charlie a young adult supernatural ghost/love story. I have written two follow up novellas featuring one of the supporting characters - a fourteen year old psychic medium called Aggie Greenwood. I have loads more stories to come about Aggie, but I'm also just finishing off a grown up chicklit novel, which should be coming out at the end of the this month. Called Meaning to Be, it's about the consequences of taking notice of a fake fortune teller, which I suppose follows yet again my interest in the supernatural, mystical side of life! I come from the UK and I look forward to having feedback from the group about my books. Happy reading! Sarah x

Naturally, I will reciprocate with any review requests.
Have a lovely day.

I'm Eric and I've actually been in the group for a while but never thought to introduce myself. I'll do that now: hi. I like to write reviews whenever I can, and I write a little fiction too.

I'm also an avid book reviewer (on Amazon) and am looking forward to participating on Goodreads as well in order to help guide readers to books that will enrich their life.

I have been recognized for a number of scientific papers published in professional journals in my line of work. I have not only won an award, but have also received good reviews for my first published thriller novel – “Green Power”. The newly released biotechnical thriller, “The True Virus”, is my second novel.

My name is James. My pen name is J Carrell Jones. I write sci-fi, fantasy, action-adventure, mystery, erotica, and NA. I'm a Graphic Designer/Artist, which makes it nice because I do my own covers. I'm also a Indie Press - Mythical Legends Publishing. I've published a half dozen of my own works and two from two other Authors: Patricia I Williams and Kenneth A Strickland. Each will be coming out with a second book and we just added a third author who does YA. Exciting times. :-) Looking forward to bringing something new to the table.

I'm an author of historical western romance (and an avid reader in many genres).
Thanks for letting me join and happy reading!

that must be hard for you. I know its hard living with a disability myself. Writing about things like this, I feel that helps us heal and get stronger. My mom died 12 days before my baby was born, that make my writing stronger now.

I'm new to this group and would like to introduce myself -
My name is Iva Kenaz and I have recently published by firts novel/ebook The Witch Within
I'm excited to be part of this group!
Best to you all,
Iva

I'm Chrystal and I write scary things. My latest book, Conspiracy of Ravens, is due for release any moment now. Anyone interested can view the book trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afEFP...
My first book, Sideshow, is available here at Goodreads as an ebook. My second book, Dead in the Water, is a YA paranormal romance (not as scary as the other two). I welcome reviews and also review books on my blog at www.mermaidsandmayhem.blogspot.com. That's also a great place to check out more information on my books, read excerpts, and find out where to purchase.
I'm looking forward to being a part of this group. I wish everyone happy reading!
Chrystal

I am an author, true...but I also want to review. I like all genres so I'm ready to review something for someone. Bring on the books! :)

I love to read!

I love to read too. :)

I am looking for reviews to post on amazon, other sites, Goodreads, and my blog. In return, I am willing to review other authors' work. This month The Dark Lady's Stone is available for download on Net Galley: https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/sho...
I like to read fantasy, mystery, historical, and some general fiction. My favorite authors include Tolkhein (of course), the Kings (Laurie R & Stephen), Patricia McKillip, Agatha Christie, Terry Pratchett, Steve Berry, and Margaret Frazer.

After serving in the British Army and then working for the UK Government on counter terrorism duties, I have recently published my first novel; Invective. Following the narrative arc of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, the story explores what makes some of us need to seek out adventure and conflict, and makes many of us need to believe in a cause. Ismael, the central character, attempts to understand why so much of the violence he has seen on his journey from English suburbia into a terrorist cell on the Aghanistan border, is caused by our inability to accept what it means to be human and the reality of all our fates. Along the way he is recruited by the security services and is forced to question what he really believes and ask himself what he is really capable of. Seventy percent of the sale (everything that Amazon doesnt get) of Invective will be donated to War Child, charity no. 1071659
I am looking for reviews and will also review fiction. Below is the link to the Amazon page:

I'm currently reading Flare.

Thank you

Look forward to meeting some new people and finding new books.
David

I am the author of romance novels Seven Dirty Words, Four Letter Words, an my latest novel, The Black Door.
I'm not sure if what I write is contemporary or erotica, but it's somewhere in between.
I've been writing for as long as I can remember, but only started writing in this genre a few years ago.
I'm always looking for honest reviews to be added, and am able to provide those who have a good blog / FB / twitter following with free copies of my books.
I'm not so good with the whole forum presence thing - I have 2 young children and a job, so my internet time is usually limited to FB.

I am Massimo, and I have been writing reviews of books I read since ever and long time before I (just) discovered this thread. So reviewing comes natural to me, and being a researcher helped me develop attentive care for details and fair criticism without disregarding support and instill seeds for improvement wherever possible.
I have reviewed English, Italian and French books across very different genres and styles -- feel free to have a look at my page and propose your book! Finally I have a finite bandwidth nonetheless, hence I can only accept so many books unfortunately...
Good reads and Cheers!
