What are you reading in 2014?

Brilliant book. Chuck's books are pretty insane.

Been planning to read that for a while too.
Just started Breadboy: Teenage Kicks and Tatey Bread- What Paperboy Did Next by tony Macauley...funny look back on growing up in late 70s Belfast...making me awful hungry for a fry up!
Reading The Shock of the Fall. Reminds me a little of The Silver Linings Playbook, which I didn't think much of.

Now listening to Our Man in Havana. Great start, really keen to crack on.
Debbie I have BYT on my Kindle, so interested to know what you think. Not read the others.

Our Man in Havana is one of my favourite of Graham Green's books. Once I've finished my challenges, I might reward myself with a Graham Greene fest before I do another one! I'll be interested to know what you think of it Jo.

Ah, interesting, Sandra. A friend whose judgement I trust really recommended that, so I picked it up cheap on Kindle recently. Why don't you like it?

Starting 'Still Alice' by Lisa Genova today, which is my 'author who shares your name' square on the challenge. :)

Reviews have been pretty mixed on this one. Personally, i enjoyed it although others would argue that its characters were too bland or shallow for enjoyment.

Hi Lisa,
I'm 75% into it by now and I have to say that it has gotten a little better in the second half, but it is not what I was expecting at all.
It seems that all the most miserable, sad, unhappy, gloomy and depressed people has been put together in the same town and in the same novel... Everybody looks absolutely incapable of handle grief, sorrow, lost, aging... I'd prefer to think that we human being are able to learn something during our life. Am I too optimistic? :)
I'm finishing it anyway since it is for my book club, and I think it will do a great discussion.

Really enjoyed that one Jennifer. He is coming to a literature festival in my home town so aiming to meet him.

Danielle, I am interested to know what you think of The Feast of the Goat. I had it out from the library a little while back, but had to return it before I could read it. It sounds brilliant, but sadly I haven't been able to find out for myself yet.

It's not an easy book due to the several story lines, but it is interesting. It's a book you need to take your time for.

Just finished Zoo City by Lauren Beukes. It was a surreal urban fantasy. Not bad. And my 100th book this year

You should check out the collection of his plays, that includes The Flies.
Started Life of a Chalkstream today as there is a reservation for it. Enjoying it so far. Half way through A Scanner Darkly which is surreal in parts.
