Inês | 583 comments When you wake up extremely early on a saturday because you have to spend the entire day doing very boring activities with the only reasuring thought in your mind that you are going out at night with your friends, after weeks of no-out-of-school-life and then when you start getting ready everyone cancels on you...

Oh no! I hate it when that happens! :(

message 53: by Jalyn (new)

Jalyn (jalynnie) | 3827 comments When you get up, get your kids up, and get everyone ready for school, thinking the whole time that there should be a cancellation or delay because there is so much snow, just to get a 2 hour school delay notification right as you're walking out the door (usually they make these decisions around 4-5 in the morning, not at 7:40)! Now I have a very upset preschooler because he doesn't have class when there is a two hour delay :(

He actually WANTS to go to pre-school? :0 How did you manage that?

message 55: by Jalyn (new)

Jalyn (jalynnie) | 3827 comments Lol he always wants to go to school! He wants to be like his big brothers. I think he feels left out when they are at school and he's at home. He loves learning too though. He could write his own name before he turned three because he insisted that I showed him over and over and over how to write it so that he could write it on his own. He's a very determined little boy! :)

My saying is - Why have a social life, when you can read about fictional people having a social life. ;)

Your boiler goes on strike.

message 65: by Tati (new)

Tati You're at work, having to make sense of a huge spend spreadsheet (it's not even in alphabetical order), sitting in a chair that kills your back, and all you want to do is curl up with a book

message 66: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90918 comments Mod

message 71: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments Really! She didn't talk to me the whole day after that! And we didn't even fight! Like I just snapped at her for something (it was totes reasonable) and then we both didn't talk to each other...

message 72: by Tati (new)

Tati Well, moms don't usually take it well when we snap at them... Mine is the same, even if it's warranted...

message 73: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments So..what happens next??:/

She'll get over it. I'd wait out the storm.

message 75: by Tati (new)

Tati I don't know how your mom deals with this stuff, but mine goes back to normal the next day, as if nothing had happened

My mom and I are the same, we get angry at each other for the stupidest things and then we spend like a day without talking...
Well, what usually does it for me, is to swallow my pride and talk to her like nothing happened.

That's what mine's like too.

message 78: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments Well all that happens in my case too. But we've rarely been quiet for the whole day (usually it happens with mom and my brother). And it worries the hell out of me too...

message 79: by Tati (new)

Tati It's always scary, and it makes you feel guilty as heck, but hang in there!

message 80: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments Okay..but should I like apologise or not?

message 81: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90918 comments Mod
Oh dear, hopefully she'll get over it soon :(

message 82: by Tati (new)

Tati If it's a small thing, as it seems to be in your case, I'd just wait and see what happens. If it was a huge deal, then I'd apologize.

message 83: by Neha (new)

Neha (neha71580) | 528 comments It isn't huge, but it isn't small either. I mean she doesn't take things lightly, but I'll wait for it.

ah yes, that happens to me sometimes as well! I couldn't put 'matched' down the other night.

message 89: by Tati (new)

Tati Given that my alarm clock is actually human, there is no ignoring it LOL And since I wake up at 4:30 or weekdays, I have to force myself to stop reading

Wow, that sucks, but in a way it's better, that you have a human for an alarm clock. Far more reliable (with no snooze button and all) XD.

message 91: by Tati (new)

Tati Nope, no snooze button there. There is a panic button in there somewhere though... If I take too long to get up, it gets frenzied LOL

message 92: by Tati (new)

Tati Whenever I was in that situation, I'd allot some reading time. After one or two hours of work, I'd give myself twenty minutes to read LOL

Inês | 583 comments When your mother is more excited about dress shopping for prom than yourself.
So she spends hours in the computer looking at dresses and dragging me to stores, but then she doesn't like any of the dresses I pick and keeps trying for me to try on the ones she picked...-.-

oh dear. mother's and dresses :( I'm kind of glad that we don't have prom here, my mother would probably have tried to make my dress herself. its the sort of thing she'd do, and her creation would probably have long poofy sleeves and lace right up to your chin *shudder*

Ahah, that does seem dreadful! XD
Thank God my mother hasn't reached that stage, and hopefully never will. :)

Tati I was so looking forward to transferring some books to my Kindle and getting new books... Now I can't. And don't even know when I'd be able to take it in to be repaired
