Twilight Watch my favorite installment of the series so far."That bodes well. I was umming and ahhing about reading it after Day Watch. You've sparked my interest again.
We've gotten about another 60 inches of snow this week but that's normal for us. However I know a lot of non snow places have been getting snow this year. What to do with it? Maybe on news or magazines or even travel channel you've seen my neighbor and BASnowman. I'm sure there's many places on the web to view it but if anyone interested in checking it out the easiest way is on Facebook just check out .B. A. snowman. Its a public page. They having gotten the 2014 one made so its all pics of 2013 year 5 and he was 36.5 feet tall.

Travis of NNY wrote: "We've gotten about another 60 inches of snow this week but that's normal for us. However I know a lot of non snow places have been getting snow this year. What to do with it? Maybe on news or mag..."Cute. Thanks for pointing this out. We have enough snow here to do this also, I think.
I was looking out my window this morning admiring how beautiful it is in the woods along the footpath behind my place. Then..."wait what's that yellow patch?"
So I have also been admiring how many dogs are stopping at the very same spot in the woods along the footpath behind my place. :-D
One of life's most valuable lessons we learn ad kids. Don't eat the yellow snow!. Also makes me laugh how most kids are given those little mini snow shovels as toys to teach at an early age shoveling snow is fun. We all just grow up to hate shoveling snow anyway.
Finished reading Hounded which was great fun and have now moved on to Waking the Witch. The giant snowman is cool Travis! Apparently all the snow you guys are having in the US is the reason we're getting rain and gale force winds here! We took a battering over the weekend.
A couple years ago I threw a snowman together next to where my wife parks with 2 tomatoes and a banana. Shall we say they wrrenweren't on its face. I waited in the house to see her face when she opened the door of her car and wouldn't you know the mail man or ups or fed ex delivery person pulls in to drop off a package. That was funny!

I saw women's slope style snowboarding on the Olympics and the woman for Britain is from your city Sarah. Oldest woman in sport at 33. First time women's slope style has been at Olympics she finished 4 th I think but the judges only seemed to be looking for big air and not much on technical stuff so hard to say how the results would have been if they scored like they scored the men's. Anyway she trains on turf since you guys don't get snow

Conned by our own parents!☻

I would so love to go skiing or snowboarding!

That and don't pee on an electric fence.

Lexx's work offers dry cleaning of shirts for $2 each which is something I will happily pay to never see the things.

I tell people "Iron is a four-letter word. I never use it!"
Another life lesson often learned the hard way is to not stick your tongue on a frozen metal surface.
I am currently reading
by Vince Flynn. Since Mr. Flynn has past away in July of last year, I'm trying to read the books I've not read in his Mitch Rapp Series. And Transfer of Power is one of my Chunksters I need to read.

That would be third and a Bronze medal, just for the record. Britain's first medal on snow. They've all been for ice sports previously.
And while we get some snow, we certainly don't get enough to make a 36 ft tall snowman - especially not an obscene snowman... *tut*

I'm currently reading The Song of Achilles and the MHRA's Orange guide. One is for work, the other pleasure; I'll let you decide which is which...
Just finished The Last Watch which was very enjoyable. Vampires, enchantresses, witches, watch members, dead others and Merlin I ask can you have too much butter on your popcorn. Now reading 20th Century Ghosts
I finished listening to Clockwork Angel. I rather enjoyed this bit of fluff and am debating on whether or not I want to read the other two books in the trilogy. The narrator of the next book has a yummy voice, so maybe.... :)I'm still slogging through Annabel. I may have to sneak it into my chunksters somehow just to make up for the pain of reading it.
I'll be starting The Restorer on audiobook today and hopefully can time the end of it with the beginning of the toppler.
Travis of NNY wrote: "Just finished The Last Watch which was very enjoyable. Vampires, enchantresses, witches, watch members, dead others and Merlin I ask can you have too much butter on your popcorn. No..."Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Travis of NNY wrote: "Rusalka wrote: "Travis of NNY wrote: "Just finished The Last Watch which was very enjoyable. I'm a little said he's updated it!
Ed: Obviously that was supposed to be sad, but not so obvious as I have to say it.
I am currently reading Inferno for my chunkster challenge. I am 100 pages in and I am so glad I finally got to it!
Finished 20th Century Ghosts what an odd peculiar at times twisted read. I liked it but it was bizarre. Started Spellbound
I finished reading Life After Life which I really enjoyed. Now from one chunkster to another with The Lies of Locke Lamora I probably won't get much of it read before the toppler though.
Rusalka wrote: "Luna wrote: "currently, I'm reading 'Kad pobjedi ljubav' by Maja Brajko-Livakovic. and that's only because I have to. After that, on my re-read list are 'Confession of Catherine de Medici' and 'The..."Thanks a lot :)
Well, according to my to-read list, I read only 20 books out of 130(
it was something like that) that I plan to get somehow. Pretty sad IMO :/
*fingers crossed for that small number to change*
I am starting The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2013 because I need a book to fill in time before the Toppler. A book I can put down for a week and not lose my place. I found this while gophering for the Toppler but I'm not reading this category.
I just finished up NOS4A2 by Joe Hill and adored it. Now I'm starting
The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes and
The Other Daughter by Lisa Gardner. Both are just for fun for my personal 2014 TBR.
Travis of NNY wrote: "Needed a short one to take me up to topple so started Catching Fire"That gives me an idea. I have a real short 65 page book to make up a chunkster. I could read that tonight! That would be Identity.
Just finished The Thirteenth Tale that was really good. I loved it. Its a great story and the writing was absolutely enjoyable. Now tarting True History of the Kelly Gang by Peter Carey.
I've been reading The Goldfinch but will not get it done in time for the Toppler. It's excellent and I'm sure I'll have no trouble picking it up again in a week. For the Toppler I'll be reading Triptych.
I finished Still Alicehttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm a PhD-student and my supervisor could basically be Alice. Professor in Psychology, female, brilliant, known for her work all over the world, flying all over the world for talks, just over 50 years old. To think that what happened to Alice could happen to her is almost surreal.
I'm now reading The Rosie Project for the toppler. I'm loving it so far, and I can really do with a sweet and funny book right now.
I am reading A Walk to Remember for a Romance read for the toppler. I hope it is a good, quick read. I have never read any of his books. I also have Message in a Bottle, which I loved as a movie.
I finished The Rosie Project and thought it was fantastic! Review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Next up is probably One Crazy Summer
Moving on to post toppler reading I started Mount Dragon because Lincoln and child are almost guaranteed to be good
Finished One Crazy Summer for the toppler and I'm now going to start the chunkiest of all my planned chunksters: Gone with the Wind. I'm so looking forward to finally reading it!
I didn't bother reporting any of my toppler reads in this thread as I did that in my team thread but I have now finished my last toppler book so moving on now! Before the toppler I started a chunkster The Lies of Locke Lamora but I had only read about 10 pages. It's been a week since I picked it up so may need to start over as I can't remember any names or places in it. I am also starting a library book The Demonologist.
Peggy wrote: "Finished One Crazy Summer for the toppler and I'm now going to start the chunkiest of all my planned chunksters: Gone with the Wind. I'm so looking forward to finally re..."Hi Peggy, I wanted to know how One Crazy Summer is? I'm the type of person that judge the book by the cover (only books), and this one looks like a kids book. Also, good luck with Gone with the Wind, I'm almost half way...
Travis of NNY wrote: "Moving on to post toppler reading I started Mount Dragon because Lincoln and child are almost guaranteed to be good"Yes, they are!!
Back to regular reading. I'm going to start Ghost Road Blues because it's next on my audiobook list. And I will start my next chunkster, The Redbreast.
