Jane Yellowrock by Faith Hunter:
Its not you, its me. I've just been seeing new books, trying new things, and I just decided its was time to cut ties rather than drawing this out longer than it had to be. But the time we did have together was great! I hope we can still be friends!
The school I normally teach at (I'm on disability at the moment - but fingers crossed, going back in the fall!) is having a book drive! The adult books will go to a local homeless shelter, the youth/teen books will go to a lower income school. I love it! I have a Little Library (look it up!) outside of my house that the community uses regularly, but when I heard about this I decided to go at my personal library with a hatchet and give away a number of my middle school, YA books. I most likely won't read them again, and even if I wish to, I can get them from my local library. The idea of a kid from a lower income school getting a chance to discover genre fiction is WAY MORE IMPORTANT than my hanging on to some books. So, I packed up several boxes and will drop them off at my school soon. It feels good to give back, even if its only in a small way.Night all! Sleep well.

One of my favorite things to do is Wednesday is go down to my local comic book store. This particular comic book store is beloved to me as most people inside DO NOT turn into Gollums when a girl walks in. My opinions are welcomed, and the one time a customer made a stupid comment about female comic book readers have poor taste in my presence, Sir James (the man behind the counter - most people call him Comic Book Jesus due to his long hair and even longer beard. My friends and I call him Sir James for his polite and chivalrous attitude) called the guy out. I had a counter argument ready. Wasn't needed. Anyway, my point! Sir James and I often talk about comics, movies, Jon Stewart, etc. On this particular day I mentioned that I was finally getting around to reading Transmetrolpolitan, (which was absolutely awesome), and Sir James told me that Patrick Stewart wrote the foreword for the book, that he loves the character AND is a bit of a comic book nerd himself?! I think I fell in love just a bit harder that day. As if his bromance with Ian McKellan wasn't cool factor enough?! *sigh*
I heart you, Patrick Stewart...
Promise of BloodOh my goodness, I'm only 100 pages in and I already know I'm pre-ordering the rest of the series! How did I not read this earlier?!?!
(Please infer that it's awesome and go buy this book!)

Did you read Mike's review? I'm now almost 200 pages in and want to mainline caffeine in order to stay up all night!
Now time to strategize.
arrives Tuesday, and I'll have to read it as soon as it arrives! I don't want to start anything too hefty, but something has to tide me over until Tuesday. Hmmm...
MrsJ kindly recommended
to me. However, by the time I walked into my sunroom/library my brain had transformed the cover to
. I enjoyed
immensely but feel incredibly guilty over the switch. My blonde moment for the week, I guess.
Wow I have a big book to keep track of my series otherwise I forget, if I putit on here it would fill up the screen and break everyone's fingers lol
I did a bit of cleaning up on my series challenge. I hadn't kept track in a bit. I'm making some progress, I think. Although, there are a few series that I really seem to have let gather some dust. I do need to pick them back up and make the effort. It just seems like the longer I'm on Goodreads, the more genres I tend to pick up. My interests have expanded to the point that I could have a tbr of 500 if I wasn't cautious! Even one hundred and some is ludicrous. But, I'm happy ;)
I did another update. I've cleaned up quite a few series, started more than I thought I would, left far too many dormant. All in all, I'm happy with my year thus far. Considering the 'go with my passions' type of reader I am, I accomplished more than I had hoped.I realize that I haven't followed the challenge to the letter of the law, but as I outlined it for myself, I think I've been quite faithful. I hope I'll be allowed to continue in 2015. I've enjoyed keeping track.
