I just finished An Uncommon Education by Elizabeth Percer. Was disappointed. The book jacket made it seem like a coming of age story set against the backdrop of a secret society at Wellesley College and a scandal that rocks the campu. Not entirely an accurate description.I kept waiting for everything to come together and nothing really did. It was more a collection of vignettes than a novel.

I know. It was interesting enough for me to continue and finish the book but just didn't have a payoff.

And if it seems like I'm reading a lot of independent authors who I've met here at Goodreads, or on Twitter, or Facebook, it's because I am. I like talking to fellow authors about the issues and processes we go through in completing our novels. I not only want to continually support fellow authors but also I really want to check out what they're writing to get a feel for where I am in comparison. It's only human nature to want to know where you stand as an author.

Fabiola, I'll be awaiting your review. I just put the book on my TBR list, because from the description it sounds like a great story. Have you read the firt book in the series? I've had it on my list for a while, but never got to read it yet.

Yes I've read the first one and except for the dog (I don't like animals very much lol), I loved the story.

I just looked at your books. Do you think they will they ever be translated into English? I could read the description, but my French is just too limited (it's been over 40 years) to read a whole book.

I don't know yet. It's a new indie publishing house so for now, that's not on the list but maybe one day. I wish. :)
