What to read?!?!?

Just finished the Mistborn series. I loved it it was so good. I couldn't put it down, I didn't understand what was going on half the time, which was great, I don't like it when I can easily figure out a plot. There was no danger of that happening in Mistborn, I mean there were little details that I figured out before the unveiling but overall I was completely lost. Great read now I need to find something else that can stand up to it or at least nearly the same level. I don't have high hopes. Thanks for recommending it.

Blood Song and Tower Lord by Anthony Ryan are epic! Just as good as Mistborn if not better

I know I read Blood Song last week. I didn't know Tower Lord was out though. I loved the first one. You see my dilemma here? I'm running out of things to read! lol

Another really good book kinda like blood song is Talion Revenant by Michael Stackpole. And yes Tower Lord Came out July 1st. It is a lot different from the first. Good book but not great like the first.

Just started reading Prince of Fools but so far im not all that impressed maybe it will get better. I'll check out Talion Revenant if I can find it. Thank you for the rec.

Liaden have you tried the Hurog Duology by Patrica Briggs? Very grown up epic fantasy as with Anne Bishop, brilliant characters it's another one I got withdrawal symptoms from when I finished, really wish there was more than just two. The audio book production of it is excellent BTW if you have any interest in listening instead of reading.

I have never listened to an audio book before, but as the saying goes there's a first time for everything. I haven't ever read the Hurog Duology but I have read Patricia Briggs and I enjoyed the Mercy Thompson series. Thanks for the tip I'll check it out.

what an AWESOME book...book 2 "Words of Radiance" is even better!!! I am re-reading "Cephrael's Hand" by Melissa McPhail another Fantastic book looking forward to her 3rd in that series as well!! I will take any new suggestins for things to read, since once I am finished with these I will still have MONTHS to wait for the next !!

Cephraels Hand is AWESOME...it is very confusing in the beginning, but stick with it because an amazing story will unfold!!! the 2nd book is "The Dagger of Adendigaeth" and is amazing as well, the 3rd is at publishers and should be out soon (I hope!!) so stick it out & the PLEASE feel free to discuss with me!!! I have been waiting for someone to read/guess with me!!

I have read Lev Grossman after seeing him on the Comic-Con panel with Abercrombie, GrrM, and Rothfuss. I really liked his Magicians Trilogy, but you will have to read all three to get the full greatness of his story.

seriously try "Cephrael's Hand" by Melissa Mcphail......it is sooooo wonderful!!!! a bit confusing in the beginning, but well worth plowing through...believe me it will all come together & make sense!!!

A handy trick I've used to find new authors is to read anthologies of short stories. There are a ton of them out there in the genre.

If you want to read an excellent fantasy series that is already complete, try the Powder Mage trilogy by Brian McClellan. I was skeptical at first, as it was so different from the traditional epic fantasies that I have grown to love. It is a flintlock fantasy set in an era very similar to the French Revolution, and it is PHENOMENAL. The author was taught, in part, by Brandon Sanderson. Anybody who enjoys Sanderson novels should definitely put this in their "to-read" list.

The first two novels in this series kept me reading for hours on end, I would begin reading before bed, and by the time I finally looked up, the sun was already beginning to rise. I finished the first novel, The Promise of Blood, and immediately reserved a copy of the second, The Crimson Campaign, even though I had to drive an hour to find a store that had it in stock.

The final novel, The Autumn Republic, is at my local Barnes & Noble now and I will be there at open to grab a copy.

I cannot recommend this trilogy enough. To anyone like me, who was skeptical about the setting and deviation from typical epic fantasy, I say give this series a try, I believe it will surprise you as it did me.

Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the ones you mentioned. The key is to just resign yourself to the fact your gonna read em all and start eating that elephant one bite at a time.

Wheel of Time is amazing, huge and epic.
The First Law Trilogy is one of my favourites all time. I highly recommend it, Logan Nine Fingers is great!
