As someone who has connections behind the scenes in the publishing world I can add on to what Neo says. Even if you've published with a company who is NOT one of The Big 5, then you are publishing with an independent publisher. Independent publishers take no rights away from the author, meaning the author has final say on all aspects of the books. Within The Big 5 companies, that is not so.
