I’ve never really understood the meaning of the song Auld Lang Syne and after reading the lyrics, I still don’t, but it gave me an idea for my January Foreman Challenge, so confusing or not, it works. There are no levels and you can do each option as many times as you want. Just have fun and happy reading!!

Old Acquaintance: Get a book recommendation from one of your oldest Goodreads friends.
Pint Cup: Buddy read a book with a friend this month.
Run About the Slopes: Read a book that has snow in it or on the cover.
Picked the Daisies: Read a book with a character named Daisy or with daisies in the book or on the cover.
Paddled in the stream: Read a book where someone goes swimming
Seas between us broad have roared: Read a book that takes place on the East coast of the US or across the pond.
Good Will Draught: Read a book where friends get drinks together.
Auld Lang Syne: Read a book that takes place in Scotland since Auld Lang Syne is a Scots poem written by Robert Burns.

Auld Lang Syne
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?
CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give me a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.
CHORUS

Nell TCF Auld Lang Syne Challenge
I'm in. This song never made sense to me either.

FWIW - Auld Lang Syne is translated to mean old times. So the first line asks if old times should be forgotten. It is supposed to be a rhetorical question or answered no since the rest of the verse/song reminisces about old times. (I googled it and found this info in an article.)

I just gently guided you...but you are welcome to hit up my TBR pile and let me know if there is something else you want me to read.

I am scared to read this! It's freaking 20 hours on audio. Here I was complaining about Jane Yellowrock being 14hrs.
