Special Note:
The section of the challenge showing your goal and name of bookshelf will NOT appear until January 1st.
This year we will be keeping track of the link to your Home Page challenge. However, if your bookshelf is private or you are not friends with one of the Mods, we can NOT click on it to "refresh" and update your goal. You will have to do so yourself.If you have joined the 14,000 in 2014 Book Count Challenge {NEED LINK}, we need you to “refresh” your challenge page.
Simply click on your current percent, as show by the red arrow below.
This will take you to your “view books” – or display screen and cause your book total to update.
If you go back to the previous screen and “refresh” the screen, you’ll see you percent has updated (if you’ve added any books since the last time you checked).

Hi guys, not sure I'll be able to take part in any other challenges this year, but would like to participate in this one. Let me know when the links are active, at the moment they're just sending me back here.
I just want to check thinks first this round.Any genre is OK? Book length?

Yes, CaroB, the links won't work until the challenge is posted (probably on the 31st).
Any genre, any length, ❀Tea❀. I don't think you can use your "read" shelf, unless they've changed it. We are going to try and catch everyone's posting url so we can "refresh" it this year.

I'll be in for this one. I know my goal this year will be lower than last year. Working full time takes a HUGE chunk of my reading time LOL

I did it for a year and it wiped me out. I think it would have been "doable," once I had a lesson plan in place. However, they kept changing which class I taught. It got crazy how much time I spent on my PowerPoint slides, lecture notes, quizzes, exams, (grading them, too!) and project instructions.
YES! Next school year, provided I don't switch grades, will be a whole lot easier. I spend so much time reading ahead (speaking of which, the next novel I'm teaching doesn't have an e-copy and I didn't realize it till yesterday and I didn't bring a paper copy from school GRR), making PowerPoint's and activities, and making quizzes. Let's not even mention grading papers since I grade EVERYTHING my class does. I'm overwhelmed at times.
Since this is any genre, I'll join you guys.

Fill in the blanks where you set your goal and designate a shelf for the books that you're counting towards this in the blank where it says ENTER A SHELF NAME FOR THIS CHALLENGE
I keep my shelf name easy...2014books is what I called mine. That way I click it for everything I read this year.

Ok i just added this challenge but i hope i did it right. My challenge goal is low as i have a toddler and I work full time so I try to squeeze in some reading. I am hoping i will surpass my goal.

Goal? Our group goal is 14,000 books in the year 2014. Thus, the name: When? Start Date: 00:01 on January 1, 2014 until December 31, 2014.
Where?: Join the Challenge that appears on our home page, or it can be found at this link .
What?: Any genre! And length!
How?: For additional help in understanding how to join, check out instuctions under “GoodReads How To...” “Join a Featured Group Challenge.” This requires adding a specific bookshelf to your bookshelves. Remember, if your bookshelf has more than one word, you must add a HYPHEN in between.
