Kit Morgan delivers yet another fun romp through the old west! Enjoy this sweet, mail order bride story!
Sheriff Spencer Riley and his mother recently ordered his big brother Clayton a mail order bride for Christmas! (The Christmas Mail Order Bride, Holiday Mail Order Brides, Book One). Too bad neither one of them bothered to tell Clayton, so imagine his surprise, and Spencer thought it to be one of the funniest things ever...until it happened to him! "After all," his mother told him. "If Clayton can have a mail order bride for Christmas, why can't you have one for New Year's?" So much for the annual scarf and mitten set she usually got for him this time of year! Just what sort of mail order bride was HE going to get?
Elle Barstow spent most of her life at Winslow's Orphanage but now it was time to leave and either find a job (of which there were none) become a mail order bride, or take to the streets of New Orleans and hope for the best. Becoming a mail order bride looked like the safest option, but Elle soon learned things don't always go the way we think they will. Unwittingly involved in a horrendous encounter before she leaves New Orleans, Elle can't possibly marry her future husband when she doesn't know if she's considered guilty of murder! She figures her only chance is to avoid the law, not to mention her future husband, until she finds out what really happened. Easier said than done. Her future husband IS the law!

NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
The last read book in 2020! Three hourse before the new year.
I think this one was a little better than the first book. It was so lovely to hear also about main characters from the first book. I hope the third will also mentioned those people- it's great to hear what happened with all them, how their life go on!
Their mother is at it again. Now she's ordered a bride for her other son and will arrive New Years day. Only this one has a secret she is terrified to admit to her intended, the town of Nowhere's sheriff! A lot of action and sweet romance.
This is the second book I have read in this series... seems I could be getting hooked On Kit Morgan's Holiday Mail Order Brides series. The great challenge Elle, an 18 year old woman ... "coming of age" at an orphanage. Luckily, Elle is headed to the small town of Nowhere. The suspense events had me on pins and needles, the humour had me laughing out loud and chuckling, the reality of being an orphan had me teary eyed and tugged at my heart strings and joyful at the kindred spirits watching over the children . The love and kindness of a wonderful family squished my heart. I enjoyed the town folks and their ways of this period of time. I enjoyed this book very much. .... and
looking forward to the next book, to the next Groom to be swept off his feet when he is least expecting it by I think by another 18 year old woman from the orphanage ... or will it be Charlotte ? ..... for the young male Dr. Quinn returning to Nowhere.
I could not wait to hear this one after book one with Clayton and Summer. Now it is Spencer, Clayton brothers turn! SInce all went so well with Summer, his mother decided to set Spencer up with his own! Elle Barstow had just turned eighteen and it was time for her to leave the orphanage in New Orleans. But it was ending up just like Summer, with that awful man Mr Spenser trying to nab the girls and put them in a brothel or worse! So she had to quickly leave to become a mail order bride and get out of town. As she was trying to get to the train, she and her escort from the orphanage were running from the men following them and something awful happened. But she made it and landed in Nowhere, Washington Territory to meet her future husband. When she and Spenser see each other, they are smitten on sight. Another amazing adventure, full of humor, annoying characters, and a town of wonderful characters. Michael Rahhal is simply the best narrator as he produces the most amazing voices! At times it is hard to believe it is him as he flawlessly changes from one character to another. With Kit Morgan's delightful words and Michael's wonderful dialogue, these are truly the best ever!!
Another okay book. I still don't care for some of the phrases used but that's just my preference. I can see there is a bit of suspense thread building in this series. The narrator is somewhat overly dramatic, almost to the point of making me laugh in places where I shouldn't.
2.5 stars the second book in this series was better than the first one... am i going to continue the series? i don't know yet, but the characters are starting to grow on me and i kind of want to know what happens to the bad guys (as i said in earlier reviews...i NEED justice/a good revenge/adequate punishment/retribution !!!) maybe i'll just wait with the next book in he series His Forever Valentine until february ;O)
Book 2! I couldn't stop myself from starting right away. I wanted that brother of Clayton's to get his just dessert!
The story follows the new sheriff, Spencer, and his bride-to-be Elle. After helping Mama Riley get a mail order bride for his brother, Clayton, it is now his turn to be married off. Elle grew up an orphan at the same orphanage as Summer from the previous book. However, on her way to Nowhere, something terrible happens and she has to defend herself. She is haunted by the fact that she may have murdered someone. Sure, it was self-defense, but what if this comes back to bite her in the romp?
This was WAY better than book 1. 100% better. Sure, book 1 is important to the story...I guess...but I enjoyed this so much more. I was hooked from page 1. Yes, this is cheesy in some spots, but I wasn't annoyed at all.
I liked Elle and I liked Spencer. OMG people just talk to each other!!! Elle tell him what happened! Gah!
Again, this was technically"Christian", but I am glad the author keeps it to a minimum. God is mentioned naturally and realistically. It was very sweet overall.
I am so glad Charlotte and her terrible mother got a hair better in this. Sure, they are still terrible sometimes, but Charlotte gets a slice of humble pie a few times and it woke her up a bit. Yayy! I now want Charlotte to have a HEA. She needs a tough man who won't take her or her mother's scheming ways. But yes - she deserves love now.
OooooOOOooo that ending had me nervous. I figured it out, but I was still nervous on how everything was going to be fixed. Poor Elle. I would've been scared out of my mind!
The narrator did well. Again, the voices for the girls made me chuckle, but I felt they were better-ish. Or maybe I just got used to them?
Overall, I liked this WAYYY more than the last one. I liked Elle and Spencer more and the story wasn't AS cheesy as the last one. For sure worth it even if you skip the last one ;) I'll give this 4 stars. Quick, sweet, and funny.
I had just finished book 1, The Christmas Bride. I read the preview for this book at the end of that story and had to have it. I bought it, started reading it and finished it at four in the morning. There went my good night's sleep. It was well worth it. The characters are well rounded and the story line is compelling. (I found myself talkng to my book as I read...don't ask.) I would highly recommend this series of books...now to force myself to hold off on picking up the next one...The Valentine's Bride...but it's so tempting. Kit Morgan is rapidly becoming a favorite author.
This was an average read for me. I wanted to follow up on Spencer's story after the last book and that was the motivation for me to read this book. Plot didn't have any significant twists and the one criminalistic thread that runs through all the books is annoying, since it doesn't quite tie the lose ends in the hope that it would keep readers interested in the entire series not just the book, but all its really doing is, making individual books more confusing in my opinion.
Book two continues with Clayton & Spencer’s mom getting a mail-order bride for her younger son Spencer. Elle is a friend of Clayton’s wife Summer. Both are from a New Orleans orphanage. However, Elle is hiding a secret. Something that occurred on the way to the train in New Orleans. Then a “US Marshall” shows up just as Elle and Spencer are about to get married. Want to know more...read the book. On to Book Three!
Let me first start by saying something about the cover. It definitely doesn't portray the supposedly beautiful heroine. No offense but the girl in the cover was not what was considered beautiful that one would stop and stare. Having said my piece, the story was pleasant at the most. No angst, no nothing. The Hero was nice as was his older brother, Clayton, who also got himself a mail order bride. No drama or anything.
Take one mail-order bride who’s afraid she murdered someone; a reluctant groom who’s also the sheriff; and a town full of other characters. What do you get; a charming romance with enough twists and turns to keep you wondering. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
This is the story of Elnora/Elle and Spencer. Since most of the background information was laid out in the first book, this book has more time to develop the secondary characters. The author keeps the storyline moving along with humor and excitement. Plus she sets up at least two more storylines.
I listened to this book on Audible— the narration was enjoyable so that added to my enjoyment of the book! This book was a fun Holiday mail order bride romance with a few twists and turns. I’m sure they will continue in the next books. I enjoyed the story and the characters although sometimes the writing seemed juvenile. I will continue this series as I get to each holiday!
The two books that I have read are good books they read smoothly good storyline some laughter and you just love the brothers they are awesome this is a feel good book once you finish it you feel real good they just don’t make men like this anymore, can’t wait to get onto the next book.
I love Kit's books. They are fun and romantic with action thrown in. Written for those who prefer less graphic sex, it doesn't deter from the stories at all. I will continue to read her books every chance I get!
I still find the orphaned heroines in this series a little too unworldly give they grew up in Civil War era New Orleans, but overall a sweet romance series with beginnings of suspense side plots added.
Another orphan becomes a mail order bride to marry another sheriff in Nowhere. She has some secrets that she's afraid to share that might prevent her marriage.
This was the best book. It was full of romance, mystery and suspense. A great story to read during the holidays. I fell in love with all the characters and intend to read the entire series.
This book grabbed my attention from the first page and never let go. I was about to get a hold of Kit Morgan and give her a piece of my mind for having Elle arrested on her wedding day!! But thankfully it didn’t take Spencer long to save his bride and get hitched!
When beautiful Elle decides to become a mail order bride, she never knew it would be a crazy race against. As Southern dialects walk over each other, Elle discovers that there are some very bad men who don’t want her to marry
This was a fun and romantic second book in the series. As in the first book there's a suspense side to the story. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Great read!!! I couldn't put it down. I'm happy with the turn of events and hopefully Ms Davies gets better and gets hitched after all her terrible attitude.
