One boy . . .

One dragon . . .

A world of adventure.

When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself.

Overnight his simple life is shattered, and he is thrust into a perilous new world of destiny, magic, and power. With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller for guidance, Eragon and the fledgling dragon must navigate the dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds.

Can Eragon take up the mantle of the legendary Dragon Riders? The fate of the Empire may rest in his hands.

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments I wont be able to start until like the 14th so Ill try and catch up then

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Tayla I don't mind waiting for you. I have quite a few other buddy reads at that time and the 14th is actually probably better for me. If its good with Cheyenne and Flowershell we can all start then instead, otherwise you and I can start ten if you want.

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments a buddy/series reads list is crazy haha. hopefully i can catch up on everything during winter break

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Tayla Ahaha, mine is too! Yeah that was what I was hoping to do but over here we have summer holidays now! :)

Oh and Cheyenne agreed to the 14th! So I'll change the title. :)

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments sweet!

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments yess, 14th would definetly be better because of the exams week ! This will be fun ^^ My first buddy read !

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Flowershell I am glad it works for you! It will be. Oh, really your first buddy? We'll make it fun for you then! :)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Adrian You are free to read nuder whatever schedule you would like. @Flowershell or @Tayla might read it like that with you but, personally, I prefer to read without a schedule.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Adrian :))

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments I need to keep track of the Buddy Reads.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Adrian That's fine. Don't worry about it!

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Once I keep a diary now. Too many to remember otherwise!

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Everyone Look I am a little overcrowded at the moment and since I have read this series three times before, I think I am going to have to pass for this buddy. Sorry! But I know them almost off by heart so I can still participate. Sorry again. :)

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments anyone reading this?

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments I have four books on my currently reading shelf and I can only read one at a time haha we shall see

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments Oh my so many books at the same time. So, we.re reading freely then? Without page limits?

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments I'm so excited been meaning to read this series for a long time.

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments me too, the cover is throwing me off though. I hope it is goodd

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments @me too, but never got around to it! I saw the movie such a long time ago that the only thing i do remember on the story is that there.s a guy raising a dragon...

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments I never knew there was a movie!

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments I know that the author started writing this series at age of 14.

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments @tayla there is, but everyone seems to think its crappy though

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Adrian I don't plan on it. Sorry, I just cannot fit it in. :)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Tayla + everyone I really hope you like this one. I absolutely love it. One of my top faves. I even gave it 5 stars which is rare for me. :)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Sophie wrote: "@tayla there is, but everyone seems to think its crappy though"

Understatement of the year. Its a load of rubbish. Worst movie ever. Some advice? Don't ever watch it. :)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Once Upon A Time wrote: "I know that the author started writing this series at age of 14."

He is pretty genius. :)

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments @Rachel Is the plotline different than from the book?

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Sophie Its barely the same. They changed SO much and I don't mean like the characters appearances (but don't even get me started on that aspect too!), I mean they completely made up an ending and changed so much of the general plotline. Its was infuriating! :'(

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments @Rachel ohh like Percy Jackson I see

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Sophie Sorry, but I haven't see the Percy Jackson movie so I cannot compare. :)

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Don't watch the movies. The second one was way much better than the first.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Once I heard they are bad but they have Jake Abel in them and I love Jack Abel! :)

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Have no clue who that is.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Once He plays Ian in the host. Umm I think he plays Luke?? I don't know. Haven't seen it.

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments Yeah he plays Luke. Just looked it up.

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Once I thought so. :)

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments This is reminding me of 'How to train your dragon'. Dragon bounding is so touching!

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Sophie I haven't read that series before. Is it good?? 'Cause I love dragon books. :)

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments @Rachel Haven't read it either, mainly because it is middle grade... loved the animation movie though!

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments okay starting now

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments Wow have you guys seen the ratings? So many 1 and 2 stars! I wonder why..

livros.da.sofia | 42 comments @Adrian so far the only thing Tolkien were the elfs and the similiarity of the main character's name with Aragon's. Even adding some weird creatures, i hardly think that can be consideered plagiarism...

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Sophie That was my reason for not reading it too but I might give it a go. Some middle grade is pretty good. I haven't seen the movie since it came out so I don't really remember it to be honest! :)

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments 9% lots of big words and stuff. Not really sure what's going on

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Tayla Its is pretty complex at times and that is what makes a lot of people dislike it. Some people think its "overly" descriptive but I found that to one of the things I liked about it best. It isn't for some people though and it only gets "heavier" with each book.

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) | 3057 comments makes me think of game of thrones. I got 33% of that book and put it down. I didnt understand a thing

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Sophie wrote: "Wow have you guys seen the ratings? So many 1 and 2 stars! I wonder why.."

I think its because some people don't appreciate the complexity of it. A lot people think its a little too long-winded and slow. I obviously don't and I hope you guys like it!

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Sophie wrote: "@Adrian so far the only thing Tolkien were the elfs and the similiarity of the main character's name with Aragon's. Even adding some weird creatures, i hardly think that can be consideered plagiari..."

I haven't read Lord of the Rings before so I cannot compare it but I doubt it is plagiarised! Paolini is called a genius. He started this book when he was 14 and got it published when he was 22?? I think it was 22. He is very talented for someone his age.
