What are you watching on TV?
I have to try Vikings. I'm setting the PVR for the premier of The Returned this weekend. Has anyone heard of it? It's been garnering rave reviews.

Haven't heard of the French version, but I know people at work who watch the American version.
I have two seasons worth of Vikings and the last half of Walking Dead season 4 sitting on my DVR. Meanwhile, what I am watching is True Detective. Holy crap, that show is good.I am also enjoying GoT, Modern Family, and the Goldbergs.

I believe the version I am seeing is in English, but takes place in France and originally aired in France. It is 8 episodes long and is called The Returned.I loved Broadchurch, an original BBC 8 episode miniseries. I'll watch the American version being filmed as David Tennant is going to reprise his role, but why the burning need to re-film European shows if they're so good as is?
I've watched up through episode four of Orphan Black. It's interesting, but I'm not "OMG!" hooked yet...

Felina, I've watched True Detective. It's amazing. The two lead actors are brilliant.

I haven't watched Dallas Buyer Club yet but the first film I saw McConnaughey in was A Time to Kill. I thought it was great. I've liked Harrelson since Cheers :)

Lovecraftian you say? That means the boy would like it. I have never read. Lovecraft and it's bee recommended to me by everybody in the world.
Reading Lovecraft can be... tough... sometimes.
I like Lovecraft, but he is a bit different.

My recommendation for Lovecraft is to start slow and go for his shorter stories first to get a feel for his style.
Finished Orphan Black Season 1 today. I think I'd give it 3 stars... I liked it well enough, but I found myself more impressed with the Titiana's acting skills than the story itself. I found my attention wondering now and again, and even got some online shopping done while the show was running... :-/Though I do love Felix.
Season 2 isn't on free streaming on Amazon, though, so not sure when I'll follow up.

Jackie, try this:Turn off the cable box. Unplug power from wall and the coax cable from box. Wait 60 seconds and plug it all back in and power up.
It sounds like a dumb fix but it clears out some of those On Demand errors.
So, instead of reading that as co-ax, I read coax, and was like "we're sweet talking the cable now?"
*sigh* Oh Chris, you expect me to actually move my shit to unplug those wire thingys from the wall. Silly man!:P

I think I'll be adding The Returned! I only watched one episode thus far, but found myself perched on the end of the couch, coiled up like a spring. I loved it! I realize most people are turned off by the subtitles, but the multilayered plot and subtle acting hooked me immediately. I'm such a reader, I barely noticed the subtitles after the first scene. I can't wait to see the next few episodes, glass of wine clutched firmly in hand ;)
I've also been saving up my Musketeers episodes. I want to splurge one day and power through them all (if it's as good as hyped).
Has anyone seen the previews for Gracepoint, the American remake of Broadchurch? I swear they shot parts of it scene for scene. I imagine they'll change who the murderer is? Trust me, if you're a fan of Broadchurch, watching the Gracepoint preview is positively eerie!
Penny Dreadful is another one I'll have to wait for, as I don't have Showtime. I am curious about it, though.

Don't know what anyone else thought but I ended up being really quite disappointed with the Musketeers. It's a fun enough series but a lot was changed from the original stories that made it suffer (I'm not someone who universally dislikes any adaptation that changes the source material but in this case sticking closer to the original story would have been so much better in my opinion and then they could have branched out into more original stories in the second series).

I'm not subscribing to whatever network it's on and I'm not willing to pay $2 a show or subscribe tp watch it.I pay more for cable/internet now than I usually do for power.
I've watched the first two episodes. The first one was ok but i thought the second one was awful, particularly Billie Pipers brutal attempt at an Irish accent.

I'll probably hang on and get it on DVD. Even when box sets first come out they are normally pretty affordable these days and I like being able to power through all the episodes in a couple of sessions.
