Are you planning on reading the third book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Return of the King?

Apparently, Christopher Lee, who played the character of Saramon in the movies had been a huge fan of the trilogy before he played the role and re-read The Lord of the Rings annually! Just an interesting trivia tid bit thrown in there. :)

I absolutely plan on reading the third book. My reading resolutions for 2014 are The Lord of The Rings trilogy plus The Matthew Shardlake Series. This challenge works perfectly for me. I didn't add it to my Slick's books in case I need a little break.

I love trivia...and the idea of rereading books. When it's a book I love I can always find something new to enjoy about a story. It mostly comes down to too many books to read and not enough hours in the day.

I ended up re-reading quite a few books this year which surprised me. I'm thinking of re-reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as The Hobbit. I read them all when I was a young adult and I love the movies.

I am planning to read The Hobbit soon and would like to read LOTR's too - I've not read any of them but I absolutely loved the movies. I don't reread many books mainly because I have so many that I haven't read. There are only two books that I have reread ever and they are Running with Scissors and The Celestine Prophecy.

I should (re)-read those books too, but I hardly ever reread books for the same reasons you mention Sarah. I bought all three LOTR books together with my niece before the first movie came out, intending to read the books before watching the movie. I managed with the first one, I was halfway through the second one when we went to see part 2, and after that I never continued reading. I read the Hobbit for English class in high school, so that must have been at least 12 years ago as well.

I read The Hobbit during Toppler camp last summer- loved it. I have seen The Hobbit movie (1st part) but am waiting until I read the books to see the movies. That's why I am starting with them- they need to be read :)

I just saw Part 2, Desolation of Smaug on Friday. It was so good. And now we have to wait a year to finish the movie trilogy.

Unfortunately the movie incorporates parts of The Silmarillion which I haven't read and doesn't seem to have audio yet. I was hoping Rob Inglis would do it after the movies came out. The Hobbit though is one of my top favorite books of all time.

The Hobbit and LotR were the first books I read under the covers with a flashlight so my parents wouldn't know I was reading half the night. I've wanted to do a LotR reread for some time too. I keep wondering if I'll still love them as much!

Tess is a February group read in another group so I fitted it into my list so is the Jim Henson book. I do enjoy a " double dip" book. This challenge is actually helping me organize my reading which is making it easier to have books ready when I need them. Being more organized... an added bonus to reading- who knew?

I finished The Two Towers which completes one of my Chunksters ( when you add it with The Fellowship of the Ring. So far I have liked The Hobbit the best then book 1 followed by book two. Need a little break from Hobbiton but I will complete the series this year.
The second series I plan to get through this year is the Matthew Shardlake books. I have started reading Dark Fire. C.J. Sansom is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.

I have about 100 pages left in Dark Fire Lisa and I like it even more thanDissolution ( which I gave 5 stars to). I like the side characters more. It is taking me a while to finish because I had an unexpected trip come up and this chunkster took up too much room in my suite case :). I'm home now so I'm hoping to finish soon.

I started The Woman in White Cherie because I had it on my kindle... I can't wait to get back to it. Only 10% in but I am very intrigued.

Laura Fingersmith was wonderful- I highly recommend it.

I seem to be stuck in Victorian/ Tudor England- good thing I can't smell it! :)

Isn't it amazing how long you can stare at things and never see them, no matter how hard you try?

We used to have "buddy checks" to review work on instructions and bill of materials when we thought we were done. A 2nd and 3rd set of eyes are such a huge plus for that kind of work. I still tell my engineers that they need to review the mark-ups to make sure things are correct before I promote engineering change orders. I HATE doing things over.

Dawn- I absolutely loved it! I am now looking to add more Wilkie Collins to my TBR.

I think the reason I have been so lucky with my Slick books is that most of them have been books I have been meaning to get to but other books/ challenges have got in the way. This challenge has made it easier to get to them ( hat tip to Janice).
