@Andy, I had that problem as well! I've only just got over it in the last year or so, my mum and I promised we'd start being stricter :P

Oh dear! Sounds awful.
That's not good! I get really annoyed when nothing happens! Just imagine, you could write whatever you wanted, you're god of your own creation as a writer, and then they write stuff where nothing happens! what a waste!
You know a book is bad when you write a review too snarky to post...I've had to tone my review of Lost and Found down a bit, but (if anyone happens to read it) let me know if I come across a bit too mean!
I sometimes write reviews that are less than diplomatic. Sometimes it just all comes out and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
You know a book is bad when...You force yourself to endure reading it for a week and you're only halfway through before you have a raging epiphany that you can't finish the book and you quit never looking back.

Oh dear, I've had books like that before!

Yep, I sometimes think I could make some books a whole lot less boring by re-writing them! (I'm most likely deluded, but it would be satisfying to have aliens land and shoot all the annoying characters in the head)

I've read 3 great books in a row so I'm proud to say I have nothing to add.You know a book is great when you're not thinking about the 'You know a book is bad' thread. =P
You know a book is bad when....You want to go to work or school, just so you have something to do other than read the book.
It's horrible! I feel like there has to be characters in every book that you wanna strangle. I wish there weren't though!
You just wonder where some of them were when the brains were dished out! They seem to be clearly lacking some!

Holy crap, how did that even get published?
It's a new Danish one. It's so bad I'm laughing so hard! :D There's already a love triangle at page 30. Come on :D
You know a SERIES is bad when the first three books are amazing, the series ends well...then the author writes more books for money and they sound like they're about romance when the original/good books were fantasy with romance on the side. T_________T
In other words, if you read Witch & Wizard, stop after The Fire (book 3)...

Ah yes, the pretty little liars series went like that. the first few were good, but after a while they became more and more ridiculous.
A Series of Unfortunate Events was only worth reading up to around book 3. I think he only made 13 to fit in with the theme.
You know a book is bad when you start to skim read, and then just feel like reading the ending because the stuff in between isn't worth it.
Irene wrote: "You're just waiting for it to be over..."That's always so painful, and you feel like it could anytime in the next 100 or so pages.
Irene wrote: "Well... I feel like it never even started? And I'm 250 pages in. Sigh! :)"Yeah, that really sucks :(
I'm just about managing to get through an iffy one by reading a couple of chapters and then switching to something else. it's not quite so painful that way, but I'd still like to be done already!
