You know a book is bad when.....
Irene wrote: "The only reason you're not giving up on a book is because then it won't count in the challenges..."I feel you!!!! We're just forcing ourselves...
...when you just read the sequels because you already bought the series thinking book one will be good. (Bad prediction! haha)

And then you desperately try to re-read it again just because you bought it, but all you do is move the bookmark back a few pages
You know a book is bad when..... Curious George becomes interesting, and you really feel like switching to playing solitaire instead.
You know a Book is bad when... The main character is always saying the stupidest things like "So... Magic people eat Spanish food?" "Magic people drink soda?" I hate this book but I got it for review.

Sounds awful!
You know a Book is bad when... there is a LOT of swearing in book as well as the characters are being soo oblivious and stupidly annoying -_-You know a Book is bad when...I read the book, leave it at 25% and read at least two to three books before thinking of returning to it
You know a book is bad when..... you get distracted by edible glue. I mean I am seriously, edible glue is so much more exciting than this book.
Sarah wrote: "Wow, how amazing would this look on a cake?(I shop when I'm bored)"
Ooh, put it on the cake, eat the cake, then use it to burn the bad book! ;)

That is a good idea
You know a book is bad when everything in your day distracts you from the book. Also when you get up to go do something and come back to realize it's still playing and you don't care to go back and see what you missed.
I do that too! I'll put the book on 'text-to-speech' and feel relieved when I can't hear it over the vacuum cleaner! Which book are you trying to read? ☺
I'm trying to finish the newest Percy Jackson book. The Blood of Olympus - I just can't seem to get into it at all... I'm considering DNF-ing it.
I hate books like that. they seriously drive me nuts! maybe you should try leaving it and coming back to it later? might help?
I do too, makes you go into a reading slump!I think I might have to do that, stop and go back at a later time.
I got through the vampire academy series by reading on chapter of that, and then reading something else. Took me a while to get through them but made it in the end!
At least you made it to the end! I usually always finish a book even if I don't care for it.. but it sure will take awhile sometimes hah.

You know a book is bad whenYou read 1 chapter, put it on the bedside table, then go to sleep without sparing it one single thought.
You know a book is bad when you'd rather study every single textbook in your house than touch that thing.
You know its bad if it is so dismal that you want to shred it. Almost did to my copy of heroes . sorry to anyone that likes that book. It just... ugh. No word can possibly a explain my annoyance with that book.
You know a book is bad when you're rooting for the romance to not work out.I've had that recently...
You know it's bad when..
it's the second book of a trilogy, and you can't stop wondering about the third one...

Or when you're happy to find a bad review on a book.
Or when you give a book 3 stars and say you're being "generous".
Or when the only word you can find to describe it is "saccharine" (usually happens with certain picture books).

It's not published yet and I can't technically talk about it until January. =P
It's not actually a bad book, but it shouldnt have romance in it.
Oh dear, I've had some where by the end of the first page I just think 'I'm not going to like this'. it really sucks.
I have a rule that you have to read at least the first 50 pages before you can give up, or if you're not quite sure :)
Victoria wrote: "I have a rule that you have to read at least the first 50 pages before you can give up, or if you're not quite sure :)"I have a rule like that as well, but it depends on the lenght of the novel of course :)

I have problems stopping in the middle of a book permanently, like I can set a book down for years but if I actively abandon a book the plot bugs me.
