Dusty Bookshelf Challenge

DUSTY BOOKSHELF CHALLENGE:

This is a year challenge for those readers who have had books languishing on their bookshelves.
Why do you join us and let your goodreads friends help you dust off the dirt and get that book finally read.
Every month, each participant will list their bookshelf containing 5-10 books that you would like to read this month. A fellow member will pick two choices from your list. You are only obligated to read 1 of those books, but you may choose to read both. Once you read it, let us know and you may add your review or link to your review!

RULES:
1) If you would like to participate, please sign up by November 24th, 2013.

2) After the picking pairs are posted, each participant will have until November 26th, 2013 to post the 2 books they chose for the person they were assigned to pick a book for.

3) Each participant will have the entire month to read their book(s), post their rating and review.

**Please try to choose a book for your assigned person as soon as you find out whom you are picking for.

Ok, I am pretty sure I want in but I have some questions.

I am probably over analyzing the simple question Melissa asked in post 5. How are we posting the books to choose from? And how are you all coming up with JUST TEN each month?

I have a shelf already "to be read this month" that I list books I have from the library or ones I know I need to fit in for a challenge. But it seams pointless to have someone pick from those since I already plan to read those. It's not really a challenge if I was going to read anyway.

I have a "to read in 2014" and a "currently in my possession" that would be great for someone to pick from but those have 60+ books each. I suppose I could randomly pick from those lists and then have someone narrow it down. How do you all plan to come up with just ten for each month?

1) Every month, YOU will post 5-10 books that YOU want someone to choose from. Your assigned person will pick 2 from your posted books, and you only have to read one, but may read both (or more).

so in that sample, I posted books that I wanted to read, and so Paris would have to chose from my list. But you post the books you want--no more than 10 books please. you can only post 5 books if you want. There is no rule that you have to post 10 books, you just can't exceed 10 books.

Basically yes. i mean, we all have books we plan to read each month that we don't get to. (*ahem, Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage) LOL.

As you know, my starter plans are always over ambitious and so I don't get to finish those books on my monthly plan. But this way, I feel like I HAVE to read those particular books that are chosen for challenges

Sign me up for the permanent list, I have WAY to many books to get read. This way I can post a lot of my pb/hc books. I have been reading so many ebooks lately that the bookcases here are actually getting dusty, lol.

this would be a great way to get rid of those onesie/twosie's hanging on from a series or those stand-alones or even the books that don't fit in any other challenge.
