Just completed my 8th selection - Reamde by Neal Stephenson. Super impressed and very glad that I stuck with this book until the end. The writing is very good and is the only thing that kept me going through the initial 30 pages or so, then the interesting plot twists started, slowly, then much faster so that by the end, I couldn't put the huge tome down! Really enjoyed the characters as well. The only downside is the length of the book, and at points, some of the rather over-descriptive sections. Overall, definitely worth reading! 4 stars!8/15
I finally finished another one for this challenge. I read book #341 on my TBR list The AlchemistI finished Coraline which was book #249 on my TBR list.
Finished my 9th selection - A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley. While the writing was good, the content and storyline were not enjoyable. I understand how important the subject-matter is, but it was an intense read. Not one of my favorite books. 2.5 stars9/15

Thank you Zara.
I am doing good. I just finished #70 out of 100 books. It shows I'm 6 ahead of schedule. It's a challenge, but just enjoying reading. Right now I'm reading the Rose Gardner series by Denise Grover Swank and am loving it. Just starting book 5 this a.m. and I can't see what happens next. Excellent cozy mystery series. Must read if you like mysteries and small town life.
Finished this one; thanks for the fun challenge :)

***** CHALLENGE COMPLETE 8/28 *****
I have now read 5 out of 8 books for this challenge as I just finished State of Wonder by Ann Patchett.just 3 more to go!
Just completed my 10th selection - Glow by Jessica Maria Tuccelli. This book was good, not great. The author told the tale through many disparate stories and voices, and while she managed to bring it all together in the end, I felt her style prevented me from becoming connected to the characters. Not one that I would recommend but glad that I read it. 3 stars.10/15
Just completed my 11th selection - The India Fan. While I appreciated the intricacies of the plot and the interesting characters, the prose was repetitive and the characters seemed to be 2 dimensional. Overall, entertaining read. 3 stars.11/15

@Jane:I liked Never Let Me Go. I did not quite enjoy the movie as much sadly, but it was not bad either.
Ok, I'm in with 5.115. Yes Man - currently reading
Completed 4/5
Just completed my 12th selection - The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer. Powerful story revolving around a Hungarian Jewish man just before WWII, and his fight for his family and life. Well-written with complex characters. The only reason I didn't give the novel 5 stars was that it was a bit lengthy at the beginning and took me awhile to become invested in the story. However, once through the first section, I was hooked. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars12/15
I have read my 6th book for this challenge - A Place of Execution - I don't think my progress was updated since the last time I posted so I'm now .... 6/8 complete!
Just completed my 13th selection - Borrowed Finery: A Memoir by Paula Fox. Interesting memoir and my heart broke for the author every time I remembered that it was a true story. While I liked the author's writing, I felt that there were odd gaps in the memoir and that it lacked an ending. Worth reading, though, if you like memoirs. 3.5 stars13/15
I have completed the following:36-Hopeless Hopeless by Colleen Hoover 5/31/14
35-Game of Thrones A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin 9/3/14

I decide to remove two books from this list. I will only read 20 books for this challenge. Not because I think I can't read the other two, but because I decide to remove these books from my to - read list. Did not like them so much, nevertheless, I will try to continue with my other goals. So, so far I had read 4/20.
