Its a good thing you posted the DQs because I haven't even started on those chapters yet :0)
#30 - I’m also dying to know what people see when they soul gaze Harry. I’m betting it’s not as terrible as Harry thinks.
#32 - Yeah, the guard probably didn’t want to become lunch!
#38 - I don't like what Luccio said about Harry's mother. Margaret's desire to see justice for humans suffering at the hands of wizards operating in the gray area of magic is noble. I also don't see the logic in leaping from protecting individual people from gray magic to interfering in world politics...

Me neither! I'm with you Lauren, I think what she'd been trying to do wasn't a bad thing and I don't understand why the wardens were after her.she hasn't been doing anything against the laws.
What is weird about her is "dating " Thomas's father. She probably couldn't have helped after the first touch but still she'd been a great wizard. She should have been able to resist him if she wanted to.

41. I guess that’s it, Kirby is really dead. Do you think Billy is right to ask for more information before getting involved? Do you think Harry will do it?
You mean Will? Yeah, I do – on both counts.
42. I liked it how Harry got Vance to follow Binder, I’m really liking Vance. He seems super smart and much better than Harry in detective work :D
Yes, and with a Mercedes he’s doing alright, too. LOL!
43. From the conversation between Madeline and Binder, I get that the puppet master wants Morgan to be returned to the wardens. Did anything else stood out for you? Do you have any suspects after that? Did you connect the “Cleaning” reference later?
Other than the name of the hotel: Hotel Sax? LOL! My husband was from Chicago; I’ve been there many times. It isn’t a little dive, but a swanky hotel, as you can see from the collage pics I made for you all. And that Madeline phoned the White Council – which can’t be good!? That she hadn’t eaten Binder…yet. And that Binder is a sick bastard? No, nothing stood out. No, I didn’t get the “cleaning” reference.
44. Awww that conversation between Harry and Murphy about going out in style and holding each other’s hand. It was so comforting for Harry. What did you think of Harry’s options if he wanted to hide from the council, Mab or Lara?
I don’t think he should become the Winter Knight; Mab is too evil and manipulative; she has a hidden agenda in her reason for wanting Harry specifically. No, not Lara either. Yikes!
45. What did you think of about Murphy’s idea of the Harry’s problem with order and procedures? I don’t know what to make of it really! One thing is for certain though, there are some good reasons that she is good cop and one of them is her way of thinking and getting to conclusions.
Well, she’s right; Harry is very consistent and steadfast in his loyalty and going with his gut; they are his order. Harry’s just really tired, and I hope Murphy is right about the Council getting inundated with tips.
46. I think the light flashed in my head at the same time as Harry, there answer is the Island. We knew that this island would play a very important role in his future. What do you think will happen? I’m waiting for something epic to happen.
You got there before me; I don’t know how I could have forgotten about it! **smacks forehead** Yes, definitely epic.
47. The crazy man shot Mouse, his level of assholeness just went up a few notches IMO! It doesn’t matter that Molly was right or wrong in what she was doing, but shooting her? Nope that’s just not the way to stop her. Comments.
Man-oh-man! Morgan lost tons and tons of any sympathy I felt for him with that stupid and cruel reaction, even if he didn’t mean to shoot Mouse, he got him – and he did mean to harm Molly. Idiot. Even with Murphy’s explanation about the smaller caliber.
48. I had to laugh at Mouse acting more injured that he really was and Harry calling him Denzel. What did Harry want Mouse to do? What is more important than finding Thomas at this point?
LMBO! Oh, I just love Mighty Mouse. A quote from an old TV show, “Denzel! Denzel!” has long been an inside joke in our family. (The woman was making a fool of herself and screaming his name, while someone fireman-carried her away. This was bad when Denzel first became popular and my husband looked at me to get confirmation that DW was indeed a hunk. My response: “Oh, yes!” The expression stuck in our vernacular over the years.)
49. So someone has tampered with Luccio’s head, that’s probably the reason she had thought Molly and Morgan had done away with Harry and she was going to kill them. How do you feel about her now? What would happen to Molly now that she has broken the Law again?
I’m still suspicious of Luccio and I think Molly is right; someone has tampered with her. Still, I don’t like her for other reasons that have made themselves known in this volume (whereas, in the last book I was glad Harry was finding someone to care for him, and finally getting a little nooky). Yeah, Harry’s talk with Molly was good, in that aspect (though he should listen to her about Luccio); Mouse was ostensibly sacrificing his life for hers – and she needs to practice forward thinking before she acts.
50. I’m hung on that kiss between Harry and Murphy and the “I love you”. I don’t know how to interpret it. Do you?
I just don’t think these two are ready to go “there” just yet. They do love each other – and it is the type of love that could go somewhere romantic and special. Hopefully, they will in the future. Love the scene; I was pretty okay, until Harry pretended he didn’t see her crying – that choked me up unexpectedly.
51. What did you think of sanctum invocation? Was it what you expected it to be? What did it mean that he named the Island? And it was very handy that it was an Intellectus.
Yeah, I’d like to simply know a few things, especially instantly. As well as the “whole picture,” too. (Of course, to play devil’s advocate, I do enjoy a good mystery. LOL! ) But, I’d take just a little island. Nevertheless, Harry dealing with a genius loci freaked me out. Especially the “drag-thump, drag-thump.” The whole thing with Demonreach was eerie, especially the setting. Eep!
52. The 3 phone calls that Harry made. To Lara, to Thomas and the skinwalker, and finally to the Council. Any comments? Who is the informant he mentioned in his message to the members of the Senior Council?
So glad Harry talked with Thomas!! Loved the reaction of the receptionist - and the Council background murmurs - then silence. LOL! The whole gang is going to be there; I think it will be epic. I haven’t a clue as to the identity of the informant, although I’m not ruling out Luccio. Otherwise, clueless again.

#41.Yep it'a hard to switch. Every time he says Will ,I think "oh he means billy"!
#43.by cleaning they meant moving out the body of Lara's employee which presumably Madeline has killed .
#44.Yep he's a Hunk.
#49.Yes we were happy that he's getting some! Finally! but I don't trust her anymore
#50.loved the scene too

#41 - Same issue with my nephew; he wants to be called "Rob," but the family still calls him "Robin." He'll always be that sweet little baby to me, though he'll be 36 this year... eep! That can't be; there must be something wrong with my calculator.
#43 - Oh, yes. I've heard that term before, but I didn't catch it here. It is a Mob term, isn't it?
#44 -

#49 - Ditto!

53.With the amount of Pizza Harry buys for Toot-toot and his army , no wonder he’s always broke! And he promoted Toot to Major-General , that seemed like a huge incentive for him !!!
54. Did you figure out who called Shangnasty to give him the location? I was being dumb and figured it out after I finished chapter 44! Harry didn’t want shangnasty to come earlier to Deamonreach but what guaranty did have that the traitor wouldn’t let Shagnasty know where Harry was?
55.That was clever of Harry (or not) telling the council he had an informant . I thought he had an ace up his sleeve that we didn’t know about !
56. Another one of Harry's crazy plans !His plan this time had so many flaws ,I seriously couldn’t see any way that it would go right !!! Maybe he is lucky? Hum?
57.What was your first thought when you realised it was the Gatekeeper on the docks? Do you trust him?
58.Your comments about a few things in that conversation
a.His cloak was purple and not black ,is it significant?
b. He had Moody’s eye?
c.Harry commented on all the things he thought the black council is responsible for ,Rashid mentioned all the thing Harry is responsible for
d. “Up in that tree. Covered with mud.” I can’t remember , do you?
e.The Island is the source of the Laylines and its Well
f.the island holds a grudge
59.What do you think of Injun Joe at this point? He seems against Harry and wanted him arrested. What about ancient Mai?
60.Do you know why Lara was dresses the way she was, instead of the gear her sisters had? And that punch was just way to go in front of the council.
61.What’s that crystal Molly is holding ?what does it do?
62.Who are the unknown pair on Deammonreach? I was just looking at the cover , there are 2 figure in the distance ,they must be the unknown pair.
63. We knew at least one person would die .The warden that was killed , could she be the only casualty of the night?
64.Harry helping Binder and then Binder giving him his belt and the phone in return was a surprise . What do you think of what happened between them?
65. I’m so worried for Thomas and Molly , Thomas is injured ,can he control his demon and not do anything to molly? At least they are safe in from the Skinwalker in the that cottage.
66.Harry didn’t wait for backup before attacking Shagnasty ,should he have waited? Did you read chapter 45 or did you stop ? Chapter 44 finished with a very scary cliffhanger !

I don't think I can do the Qs , can any of you do it when you get to it?

Yep I had a vague memory of it , I thought it was something like that . Thanks:)

I really like you suggestion, Gisela!

41.I guess that’s it ,Kirby is really dead. Do you think Billy is right to ask for more information before getting involved? Do you think Harry will do it?
Yes, Billy is right - it is really difficult to provide backup if you are in the dark about what is going on. Harry should do it because Billy deserves to know
42.I liked it how Harry got Vance to follow Binder , I’m really liking Vance. He seems super smart and much better that Harry in detective work :D
I also like Vance's character - one of Harry's problems with being a PI is that he sticks out like a sore thumb. Vance is better at blending
43.From the conversation between Madeline and Binder ,I get that the puppet master wants Morgan to be returned to the wardens. Did anything else stood out for you? Do you have any suspects after that? Did you connect the “Cleaning “reference later?
The only thing that stood out about the conversation was the sheets rustling...does this mean Binder and Madeline were in bed together?ICK!
Didn't get the cleaning references :0(
44.Awww that conversation between Harry and Murphy about going out in style and holding each other’s hand. It was so comforting for Harry. What did you think of Harry’s options if he wanted to hide from the council, Mab or Lara ?
Murphy and Harry are so sweet together *sigh*
I'd go with Mab, she doesn't freak me out as much as Lara does
45. What did you think of about Murphy’s idea of the Harry’s problem with order and procedures? I don’t know what to make of it really! One thing is for certain though, there are some good reasons that she is good cop and one of them is her way of thinking and getting to conclusions.
Yeah, Harry has problems with authority. I liked her logic when explaining how the White Council is a bureaucracy like any other - she's one smart cookie!
46.I think the light flashed in my head at the same time as Harry , there answer is the Island . We knew that this island would play a very important role in his future . What do you think will happen? I’m waiting for something epic to happen.
The island is definitely spooky and I was also expecting it to come into play again sometime
47.The crazy man shot Mouse , his level of assholeness just went up a few notches IMO! It doesn’t matter that Molly was right or wrong in what she was doing ,but shooting her? Nope that’s just not the way to stop her. Comments.
I cannot believe that Morgan shot Mouse - he is such a douche!
Molly, however, just does not seem to be learning her lesson. Just when I think she understands about not using black magic even if you think it is for a good reason, she goes and does something stupid - it's getting irritating!
48.I had to laugh at Mouse acting more injured that he really was and Harry calling him Denzel. What did harry want Mouse to do? What is more important than finding Thomas at this point?
Mouse is the Man! I mean Dog!
No idea what Harry wants Mouse to do but something tells me it will save the day!
49.So someone has tempered with Luccio’s head ,that’s probably the reason she had thought Molly and Morgan had done away with Harry and she was going to kill them. How do you feel about her now? What would happen to Molly now that she has broken the Law again?
Knew there was something fishy going on with Luccio. I have a feeling that Molly is going to do something that will save her and Harry from Morgan's sanctimonious nonsense.
50.I’m hung on that kiss between harry and Murphy and the “I love you”. I don’t know how to interpret it . Do you?
Me either - was it just a friendship "I Love You" or something more? Also, it is sufficient to protect Harry from Lara?
51. What did you think of sanctum invocation? Was it what you expected it to be? What did it mean that he named the Island ?and it was very handy that it was an Intellectus.
It was all somewhat anti-climactic - I was expecting more.
If you name something - you have power over it. Also in Harry's case, he and the Island are connected, which means the Island is a location where Harry will have enhanced magical strength - at least that is how I understood it.
Isn't Ivy a lot like the Intellectus?
52.The 3 phone calls that harry made . To Lara , to Thomas and the skinwalker and finally to the council . Any comments? who is the informant he mentioned in his message to the members of the senior council ?
So Lara was set up by Madeline - why an I not surprised?
So glad that Thomas is still among the living!
Harry is definitely putting the cat among the pigeons when it comes to the council - go Harry!

#52 - I got the impression that there is no informant - Harry just said this so that the White Council would think there was one - am I wrong?
@ShoSho
#43 - Now that you mention it, I do get the reference :0)

Hmmm very good question :D

No, you're correct. That is the impression I got, too. Didn't mean to imply otherwise.
I'll respond later, ladies.

53. With the amount of Pizza Harry buys for Toot-toot and his army, no wonder he’s always broke! And he promoted Toot to Major-General; that seemed like a huge incentive for him!!!
LOL! Yes, Harry knows Toot-toot well to use that inducement.
54. Did you figure out who called Shangnasty to give him the location? I was being dumb and figured it out after I finished chapter 44! Harry didn’t want Shangnasty to come earlier to Deamonreach but what guaranty did he have that the traitor wouldn’t let Shagnasty know where Harry was?
I’m not sure, as 44 didn't do it for me. Good question.
55. That was clever of Harry (or not) telling the Council he had an informant. I thought he had an ace up his sleeve that we didn’t know about!
No, I figured he was bluffing; seemed like Harry.
56. Another one of Harry's crazy plans! His plan this time had so many flaws, I seriously couldn’t see any way that it would go right!!! Maybe he is lucky? Hum?
LOL! Maybe he is! I was just counting on him knowing what he was doing, mainly because of his knowledge of Deamonreach. I was more worried about the long-term effect of Deamonreach.
57. What was your first thought when you realized it was the Gatekeeper on the docks? Do you trust him?
I was shocked, then disappointed because I wanted him to be a good-guy (which I guess isn’t ruled out completely). I’ll be honest and say any trust I had in him has slipped quite a bit; but then, his laughed helped to sooth my worries; it was too joyous. . He could be the long-term bad guy, thinking Harry won’t survive this… but for now I don’t think he bears Harry any ill will.
58. Your comments about a few things in that conversation:
a. His cloak was purple and not black, is it significant?59. What do you think of Injun Joe at this point? He seems against Harry and wanted him arrested. What about Ancient Mai?
Yeah, I noticed that. I figure it is very significant, since the Senior Council has their black cloaks only trimmed in purple.
b. He had Moody’s eye?
LOL! You totally threw my by this term; I was searching the book for the word, all the while thinking Butcher surely wouldn’t use the same term as Rowling. LOL! **smacks forehead** But, yeah, that steel metallic eye he uses to track possible future outcomes is a bit freaky. I’m worried about his predictions, i.e. I’m worried for Harry.
c. Harry commented on all the things he thought the Black Council is responsible for; Rashid mentioned all the things Harry is responsible for.
Yeah, that was a nice way to recap, done with humor like that.
d. “Up in that tree. Covered with mud.” I can’t remember, do you?
In Summer Knight, after Elaine binds Harry and he gets out, but is stuck up a tree... Rashid comes along and tells him out to get out.
e. The Island is the source of the Laylines and its Well.
Yeah. Being the actual source has me worried. From what though, that is the question.
f. The island holds a grudge.
Harry figures that is why Demonreach limps; something happened between Demonreach and Rashid, but I don’t know what.
**shrugs** I haven’t made up my mind about Injun Joe; he could be the traitor. As far as Ancient Mai, she doesn’t trust Harry; I don’t trust her; she could be the traitor.
60. Do you know why Lara was dressed the way she was, instead of the gear her sisters had? And that punch was just way to go in front of the Council.
I haven’t a clue, unless it was a sister competition thing for her sister. I mean, a white sundress that gets transparent in the rain? She’s such a slutty succubus. I think she enjoyed that punch too much, too.
61. What’s that crystal Molly is holding? What does it do?
Hmmm…Harry’s had her working with crystals, hasn’t he? Not sure what it will do.
62. Who are the unknown pair on Deammonreach? I was just looking at the cover, there are 2 figures in the distance; they must be the unknown pair.
Ah! Good observation. I don’t know! LOL!
63. We knew at least one person would die .The Warden that was killed, could she be the only casualty of the night?
Let’s hope so, but I doubt it. I hate Madeline so, but burned Lara eating her was gross.
64. Harry helping Binder and then Binder giving him his belt and the phone in return was a surprise. What do you think of what happened between them?
I’m glad Harry didn’t kill him and liked what he told Binder, though I think it might have been wasted on him (especially since he wanted to burn down Harry’s apartment building, not thinking of the other inhabitants). I think he gave the belt and concussion grenades because he was just feeling the moment. He says he hopes he never sees Harry again, but we’ll see.
65. I’m so worried for Thomas and Molly, Thomas is injured, can he control his demon and not do anything to Molly? At least they are safe in from the Skinwalker in that cottage.
I’m worried about T & M, too! I hope so – I think so. But, Shagnasty says he tortured his terribly. Maybe Thomas’s daily practice at restraint will help him maintain. Or Shagnasty is lying to push Harry’s buttons.
66. Harry didn’t wait for backup before attacking Shagnasty, should he have waited? Did you read chapter 45 or did you stop? Chapter 44 finished with a very scary cliffhanger!
I think he should have waited for back-up. Really! What a place to stop. I only read the first couple of paragraphs of Chapter 45 to see what happened; I had to go back and re-read the whole section, so much happened, and I knew you were waiting for my answers before your trip. ☺BTW, your DQ header says Chapter 42, not 44, although we were supposed to go to Chapter 44 and that is what I read up to.

#42 – Good point.
#43 – Ugh. I hope not.
#44 – LOL!
#47 – He is a douche! But you’re right; Molly isn’t learning her lesson and that is worrisome to me. It has such major consequences for Harry.
#48 – **hee hee**
#49 – Let’s hope it goes that way and not the other way around.
#50 – O.M.G.! Excellent question!
#51 – Yes, I do think Ivy is a lot like the Intellectus. Good call.

#55. You 2 are too clever, I thought he really had an informant.
#57. Yes that laugh did it for me too.
#58b. lol sorry ,I meant HP's moody.
#60. Harry asked her " do you have a dress?" I'm having a party "
#66.fixed it

#55 - **blushes** One of the rare times I figured something out.
#58 - The onus is totally and completely on me; I was over-thinking it; I couldn't remember how it related to the Third Eye or the Wizard's Eye.
#60 - **gigglesnort**
#66 - ☺

Yay! Another slave tonHarry Dresden!
Going to take the dog for a walk .... Will be back after to answer ShoSho's questions.
It will take me at least another day to finish listening ... I'm willing to do the questions if everyone is ok with waiting...

P.S. Pat the dog for me.

53.With the amount of Pizza Harry buys for Toot-toot and his army , no wonder he’s always broke! And he promoted Toot to Major-General , that seemed like a huge incentive for him !!!
I think that Toot-Toot was worried that the pizza might be spread to thin over all the new recruits...good thing Harry had the promotion contingency and of course, the promise of extra pizza!
54. Did you figure out who called Shangnasty to give him the location? I was being dumb and figured it out after I finished chapter 44! Harry didn’t want shangnasty to come earlier to Deamonreach but what guaranty did have that the traitor wouldn’t let Shagnasty know where Harry was?
I figured it out when Binder and Madeline appeared - of course the traitor would call in all his reinforcements...
55.That was clever of Harry (or not) telling the council he had an informant . I thought he had an ace up his sleeve that we didn’t know about !
Harry is very sneaky that way :0)
56. Another one of Harry's crazy plans! His plan this time had so many flaws ,I seriously couldn’t see any way that it would go right !!! Maybe he is lucky? Hum?
Luck always looks out for drunks and fools...
57.What was your first thought when you realised it was the Gatekeeper on the docks? Do you trust him?
I was really upset in that moment and was devastated that Rashid might be the traitor. Thankfully, that moment didn't last long. Yes, I do trust the Gatekeeper and so does Harry!
58.Your comments about a few things in that conversation
a.His cloak was purple and not black ,is it significant?
Maybe it separates him symbolically from the rest of the council - he is above the petty machinations of wizard politics
b. He had Moody’s eye?
Great catch, ShoSho!
c.Harry commented on all the things he thought the black council is responsible for, Rashid mentioned all the thing Harry is responsible for.
It just goes to show how easily appearances can be misleading
d. “Up in that tree. Covered with mud.” I can’t remember , do you?
Yup. I remembered that scene :0)
e.The Island is the source of the Laylines and its Well
I'm sure that this is going to come back and bite Harry sometime
f.the island holds a grudge
It sure does - it has a mind of its own kind of like on LOST
59.What do you think of Injun Joe at this point? He seems against Harry and wanted him arrested. What about ancient Mai?
At this point, I'm more suspicious of the one council member who has not put in an appearance - Martha Liberty. According to Luccio, Liberty has a family - is it possible that she is being coerced into working for the Black Council?
60.Do you know why Lara was dressed the way she was, instead of the gear her sisters had? And that punch was just way to go in front of the council.
It was her party dress... that punch was something but was it really that convincing?
61.What’s that crystal Molly is holding ?what does it do?
No idea. Guess the explanation will come in the next section
62.Who are the unknown pair on Deammonreach? I was just looking at the cover , there are 2 figure in the distance ,they must be the unknown pair.
I think I missed this bit what with all the punching, hitting, cursing and blood letting, lol!
63. We knew at least one person would die .The warden that was killed , could she be the only casualty of the night?
Well, Madeline is certainly not with us any longer - Lara consuming her was very disturbing *shudder*
64.Harry helping Binder and then Binder giving him his belt and the phone in return was a surprise . What do you think of what happened between them?
Interesting. Even though they are on opposing side there seems to be a certain amount of honor among thieves so to speak. Harry saved Binder so Binder helped the only way he knew how
65. I’m so worried for Thomas and Molly , Thomas is injured ,can he control his demon and not do anything to molly? At least they are safe in from the Skinwalker in the that cottage.
Poor Thomas. I hope that he can control himself
66.Harry didn’t wait for backup before attacking Shagnasty ,should he have waited? Did you read chapter 45 or did you stop ? Chapter 44 finished with a very scary cliffhanger!
Harry is always one to rush in without thinking. Of course, he didn't want to place anyone else in danger.
I admit it...I just had to continue listening a few more minutes after that cliffhanger *hangs head in shame*

That's great Alisha!
We take Harry very seriously here;) We do Q&A for each day, you can answer all or some of the questions or even ask your own questions.

Tobie barks hi!
"
Cute dog, he looks so serious :D is he a Magic dog?

LOVE Tobie! He is such a good looking dog. Beautiful pic. What breed is he? Jack Russell Terrier? Gosh, now you have me looking at dogs at the adoption centers.
#57 – Ain’t that the truth!
#58a – That would be nice!
#58e – Yup. Ditto.
#58f – How could I forget Lost? LOL! I was hooked on that show until the last year of it, then I gave up.
#59 – Completely forgot about her; could be.
#66 – LOL! We all did, I think.

#56 lol which one is Harry?
#57. I didn't want him to be the traitor either.
#58F.I never watched Lost other than the first episode.
#59.Hmmmmmmm
#60. Loved it that she showed up in a dress,it was fun
#65.**sniff sniff ** poor Thomas

Yes, he's a Jack Russell or as our vet said - "a one dog entertainment system", lol!
@ShoSho
#56. Umm...both...neither :0)
I managed to watch the whole series of LOST but I must say that the last season was kind of lame and I didn't like the finale at all!
Nevertheless, there are definite similarities between Demonreach and the island on LOST. Both of them are living entities.
I have a hour to go - I managed to guess who the traitor was 2 seconds before Harry reveals it - so proud of myself *smug smile*

Lauren’s Questions for chapters 45-49
67. I really thought Harry might be a goner but then its Toot-Toot to the rescue! I love that little guy! Even Injun Joe was impressed with him.
68. Should have realized that Injun Joe would be the one to dispose of Shagnasty, after all, Bob did say that a Shaman could do it.
69. "Just gonna kick your ass up between your ears”, lol! Is Injun Joe cool or what?
70. OMG! Is Injun Joe also a shapeshifter or is this just another aspect of his magic?
71. I’m confused - what was going on after Joe drove Shagnasty off? What happened to Demonreach?
72. Lol! Ancient Mai doesn’t like the island’s Feng Shui.
73. So, even though there is evidence of a traitor, it is still not enough to exonerate Morgan and Ancient Mai is willing to sacrifice him for the greater good. In contrast, Injun Joe defends Harry and Molly and later at Morgan’s trial, he again sides with Harry against Mai. Are we seeing some animosity on the Senior Council?
75. Interesting - invoking the name of the Naagloshi gives it power. Like the devil…
76. No way Morgan killed LaFortier. He is sacrificing himself in the name of duty. That is so noble and yet so stupid! Of course, later we find out that he had another reason...
77. Like Harry, I’m relieved that Thomas is OK but … given what we know about Shagnasty’s torture and the fact that Molly had to use the shield as protection from Thomas - is Ebenezer right? Will Ebezener ever find out that Thomas and Harry are brothers? At the end, Thomas seems to have given up trying to control his hunger - do you think he will ever be the Thomas we know and love again?
78. Wile E. Coyote - super genius! Harry is smarter than we give him credit for. I was beginning to worry that we wouldn’t find out the identity of the traitor...
79. Ebenezer’s journal - so the “boy” is Harry and there is something about the island that he needs to know, and Ebenezer trusted “Maggie” who is Harry’s mother, Margaret. Thoughts?
80. I just knew that Peabody was up to no good! And he was manipulating council members with the ink … all that signing was very suspicious. Its always the quiet and seemingly innocuous ones you have to be wary of. Any thoughts on these revelations?
81. Ah, with everything going on I’d forgotten about Mouse’s assignment. No one disputes a Foo dog’s ID not even Ancient Mai. Way to go Mighty Mouse!
82. Mordite! Isn’t that the stuff used when Harry duels Ortega in "Death Masks"?
83. Best line: “I love being a wizard. Everyday is like Disneyland” :0)
84. So Molly was right about Luccio. She killed LaFortier while under Peabody’s influence … her younger body made her susceptible. In hindsight it is obvious that Morgan would never run to protect himself…
85. Morgan didn’t tell anyone about Molly AND admits (more or less) that he was wrong about Harry all this years AND then … he dies. I am REALLY sad now :0(
86. The White Council saves face by blaming Morgan anyway - now I’m ANGRY! Grrrr! Is the Merlin right that it is better to look stupid and strong than smart and weak?
87. So Luccio and Harry’s relationship was all a lie. She was brainwashed into caring for him. Oh no! Poor Harry! Poor Luccio - she goes back to being a lonely soul. Do you feel sorry for her?
88. The explanation of why LaFortier, Luccio and Morgan didn’t use magic to kill was so simple after all that.
89. Oy! the Black Council killed LaFortier to infiltrate the Senior Council with Gregori Cristos. The SC is also still denying that the BC even exist. Is the Merlin’s fear that wizards would join the BC a legitimate one? Does the Gatekeeper have an unknown agenda regarding the BC?
90. Any guesses as to who the members of McCoy’s resistance aka Grey Council are?
91. I wonder if the number from Madeline’s phone will be playing a role in the next books? What am I saying, this is Jim Butcher. Of course, they will!

Now I need to resist reading them and get back to reading the book!

67. I really thought Harry might be a goner but then its Toot-Toot to the rescue! I love that little guy! Even Injun Joe was impressed with him.
Yep me too ,I thought this time it'd be over and then Toot showed up.I was so upset ,I thought Shangnasty had killed Toot. The series without him is unimaginable !
68. Should have realized that Injun Joe would be the one to dispose of Shagnasty, after all, Bob did say that a Shaman could do it.
That was so spectacular .At first when he started turning I thought uhuh her is the reason behind the title
69. "Just gonna kick your ass up between your ears”, lol! Is Injun Joe cool or what?
Very cool , that's why we were so suspicious of him ,he's always been cool. He wasn't himself with his inky fingers
70. OMG! Is Injun Joe also a shapeshifter or is this just another aspect of his magic?
It might be some special magic because of his ancestry . I don't think any wizard could learn that
71. I’m confused - what was going on after Joe drove Shagnasty off? What happened to Demonreach?
I don't know either
72. Lol! Ancient Mai doesn’t like the island’s Feng Shui.
lol was she serious ?!
Yes definitely ,I don't think they have ever been friendly .Ancient minds ideas are close to the Merlin and we know he's a douche
75. Interesting - invoking the name of the Naagloshi gives it power. Like the devil…
76. No way Morgan killed LaFortier. He is sacrificing himself in the name of duty. That is so noble and yet so stupid! Of course, later we find out that he had another reason...
yes this is much like and at the same unlike the Morgan we know
I hope E is not right but he will find out about them being brothers and soon .I really want the old Thomas back but I don't think that would happen
78. Wile E. Coyote - super genius! Harry is smarter than we give him credit for. I was beginning to worry that we wouldn’t find out the identity of the traitor...
Yep ,he's getting better at the detective work. It was obvious from the previous book. We still don't know the identity of the half of the pair
79. Ebenezer’s journal - so the “boy” is Harry and there is something about the island that he needs to know, and Ebenezer trusted “Maggie” who is Harry’s mother, Margaret. Thoughts?
Maggie had been to the Island ,and she had the Mantel (whatever that meant). In a way it seems Harry is replacing his mother in whatever role she had had towards the island and E thinks Harry needs to know what had happened before and be warned
80. I just knew that Peabody was up to no good! And he was manipulating council members with the ink … all that signing was very suspicious. Its always the quiet and seemingly innocuous ones you have to be wary of. Any thoughts on these revelations?
We were right after all! How long has he been doing that ,anyone else knew about what he was doing? My thoughts are more questions
81. Ah, with everything going on I’d forgotten about Mouse’s assignment. No one disputes a Foo dog’s ID not even Ancient Mai. Way to go Mighty Mouse!
Very impresses with Mouse creditably
82. Mordite! Isn’t that the stuff used when Harry duels Ortega in "Death Masks"?
Can't remember
83. Best line: “I love being a wizard. Everyday is like Disneyland” :0)
Lol yep
84. So Molly was right about Luccio. She killed LaFortier while under Peabody’s influence … her younger body made her susceptible. In hindsight it is obvious that Morgan would never run to protect himself…
Aha you're right! If he had really woken up holding the knife he wouldn't have run.Very good point
85. Morgan didn’t tell anyone about Molly AND admits (more or less) that he was wrong about Harry all this years AND then … he dies. I am REALLY sad now :0(
So so sad :( This book was one of the saddest books in the series
86. The White Council saves face by blaming Morgan anyway - now I’m ANGRY! Grrrr! Is the Merlin right that it is better to look stupid and strong than smart and weak?
I think he is right .If they show themselves as weak, doesn't matter how smart they are ,an outright attack will destroy them. but if the enemy thinks they are smart ,they will try to sneak around and WC will have better a chance of defeating them
87. So Luccio and Harry’s relationship was all a lie. She was brainwashed into caring for him. Oh no! Poor Harry! Poor Luccio - she goes back to being a lonely soul. Do you feel sorry for her?
Yes very much. I like to think even if it wasn't for the mind manipulation they would have ended up together .only a bit later along the line
88. The explanation of why LaFortier, Luccio and Morgan didn’t use magic to kill was so simple after all that.
Yes simple ,noway I could have guessed
89. Oy! the Black Council killed LaFortier to infiltrate the Senior Council with Gregori Cristos. The SC is also still denying that the BC even exist. Is the Merlin’s fear that wizards would join the BC a legitimate one? Does the Gatekeeper have an unknown agenda regarding the BC?
I think he's right. G knows a lot that nobody else knows
90. Any guesses as to who the members of McCoy’s resistance aka Grey Council are?
Injun joe , Rahid , Luccio and some of the wardens.
91. I wonder if the number from Madeline’s phone will be playing a role in the next books? What am I saying, this is Jim Butcher. Of course, they will!
It will
