1. Whoa. What a bombshell from Susan Rodriguez. Did you have any inkling? And who in the world could have taken (hide spoiler)] Not that this list isn’t endless. But do you think it really was Arianna Ortega, Duchess of the Red Court of vampires, or someone else?
Whoa is right !!! I was shocked , I said “Whaaat?” aloud when I listened to that! I didn’t even think about who could have taken her, I was doubting her existence!
If I want to believe that Maggi exist and Susan is telling the truth about her being taken then yes I think it’s the Red court and Arianna who have taken her.
2. Thanks goodness Harry had Mac to talk to. Considering the title of this book, what did you think about what Mac said about the boundaries Harry may have to traverse? BOOK QUOTE: “Something like this will test you like nothing else,” Mac said. “You’re going to find out who you are, Harry. You’re going to find out which principles you’ll stand by to your death—and which lines you’ll cross.” He took my empty glass away and said, “You’re heading into the badlands. It’ll be easy to get lost.”
Have no idea but I was amazed at Mac’s talking !!! he’d never talked this much
3. Did you blame Harry for being so mad about Susan keeping something like this from him? Did you believe him when he says he and Susan are through? What of the truth in her statement: BOOK QUOTE: “But in the end, I couldn’t offer her anything but a life on the run. And you couldn’t offer her anything but a life under siege.” Was her concern that she and Maggie could be used against Harry a valid one?
No he has every right to be angry. And I think they are really done. He might still love her but he is not the kind to forgive easily . It could be a valid point but she had no right to decide this on her own.
4. What do you make of Martin, Susan’s companion and fellow member of the Fellowship of St. Giles? I had to laugh over Harry leaving him outside, but seriously, do you trust him? Are Harry’s feelings towards him a bit more complicated than he lets on – being used to attempt an assassination of old Ortega – or is it more that he is jealous of his relationship with Susan?
No I don’t trust him. Like Harry said if it was in his interest he would have shot Harry instead of Ortega . Nah he is not jealous of him!
I have a theory though. What if Martin found out about the peace talks between Red court and the white council and we know he is against the peace . so he kidnapped Maggie or Susan and Martin made this whole thing up to involve Harry ,to have him destroy any hope of peace between the wizards and the vampires . hummm? What’d you think? I want to believe that they are telling the truth but from experience we’ve learned that nothing in these books are how they are shown in the first glance!
5. Oh! Harry’s office building blows up! (I laughed over Harry paying the rent that morning. LOL!) And it was wired with explosives a few YEARS ago? These plans have been in the works for quite awhile. I was with Murphy; why didn’t they blow him up way back when (Chapter 5)? Or does Arianna like to play with her food. (BTW, loved Murphy’s tee-shirt.) I do like that Murphy later (Chapter 10) figures out Arianna has something major planned, and EVERYONE is on edge – Big Time.
Yes I was surprised, the red court had him under close surveillance for years and it is weird that they had waited this long . It could be as simple as waiting for a good opportunity to hit as hard as they can but it could be something else !
You mean Molly’s T-shirt , right?
6. Harry’s going through all this sans coffee! Yikes. (If that’s the case, it is a good thing Molly was there to keep Harry calm in Edinburgh.) Have you ever tried to quite caffeine?
Nope , not possible , he’ll be back on coffee in no time ! No , and never going to try it. Hubby thinks I should at least try but I see no reason for it
7. Wizard Gregori Cristos is the one trying to broker the peace deal between the two nations. A few little reminder for me [gleaned from Dresden Wiki]:
Harry and Ebenezar McCoy suspect him of being Black Council. Harry suggests that he may have been the one on Demonreach with Peabody. And now the Black Council has a man inside—they killed LaFortier (in Turn Coat, Morgan was accused of murdering LaFortier) to get Cristos into position.
And he accuses Harry of war-mongering, restarting The War, breaking safe conduct under Accords. And Duchess Arianna? What a piece of work, right? Can anyone spell S.O.C.I.O.P.A.T.H.?
yes sociopath is right .What if she is a part of black council too and Cristos knows about Maggie ?!
8. Anastasia Luccio intervenes before Harry blows a gasket and now she has guessed the relationship of Maggie and Harry. This can’t be good. I figure the fewer people who know this the better, right? And – eeps! – Harry calls her a coward! Now that that’s blown over, and on a scale of 1 -10, do you trust her to feed Harry information on the White Council dealings in Edinburgh, AKA Paranoia Central?
Hummm I think it’s a good thing she knows ,she can help but I don’t think it’d be a good idea if anybody else knew .I do trust her now
9. Alright, what is with Merlin, Arthur Langtry? I do agree with him about the Red Court’s variation of an attempted Trojan horse. Nevertheless, my distrust of him go deeper than it just being that his mores are a little warped, right? I mean, he warns Harry off rescuing Maggie, but threatens Molly? WTH?
He has a very complex moral code! He is an unpredictable character.
10. BOOK QUOTE: “My laboratory,” I said, experimentally drawing out each syllable. “Why is it that saying it like that always makes me want to follow with ‘mwoo-hah-hah-hah-hahhhhhh?”FOFLMBO!
I laughed too!
11. Ritual gear? Thank goodness for Bob. But – yikes! Then there is that requirement of a human sacrifice, an innocent human sacrifice. Comments.
I knew it was coming to this when Martin and Susan gave Harry those inventories but it could be a trap. They(I’m not sure who “they” are )are giving Harry direction to be where they want him to be
12. For some reason that scene with the FBI at Harry’s door and Harry down in the basement laboratory freaked me out more than the centipede. Plus, I knew that thing was going to regenerate into two. You?
You are so clever :D I was sure it can’t be that easy but I didn’t see anything as the nasty as the centipede or the regenerating part coming !
13. Gulp. Poor Bob.
He had it coming I think :D
14. So… what do you think of FBI Agent Barry Tilly – AKA “Slim”? Think he really believes Harry is innocent of blowing up his building?
Hmmm he’ll believe in supernatural by the end of this book! Yes I think he was honest about what he told Harry
15. Okay, of all the sections, I had to re-read that part about the paparazzi and someone attempting a drive-by assassination on Harry. I mean, WTH? I sure if Harry was in touch with reality there or not. Thank goodness for his duster. Anywayz… who do you think was behind it?
Red court vampires is the obvious answer but obvious is not always right!
16. What a place to end: Harry’s faerie godmother, Leanansidhe of the Winter Court, is waiting for him. And oh, by the way, Susan and Martin are in coffin-sized green silk cocoons hanging from his apartment’s wall and ceiling!! Comments.
At first I thought it would be Mab. I didn’t think of Lea ,we hadn’t seen her in the human world for a really long time. I wonder why Mouse weren’t more aggressive toward her. He was half relaxed.
About Mouse , he did a few incredible things so far,and harry and molly have both used “drive” and “Mouse” in one sentence .I won’t be surprised if he really drives a car by the end of this book

Since this is a re-read for me, I'm going to answer the questions based upon when I first read it.
Lisa Kay’s Questions, Comments, & Reminders for Chapters 1 – 14
1. Whoa. What a bombshell from Susan Rodriguez. Did you have any inkling? And who in the world could have taken (view spoiler) Not that this list isn’t endless. But do you think it really was Arianna Ortega, Duchess of the Red Court of vampires, or someone else?
Never saw that one coming when I read it the first time. At the time, I did believe that it was Arianna Ortega, although I have to agree there is certainly a list. I had also initially thought that perhaps Susan had fully turned into a Red Court vampire and had her own nefarious reasons.
I think that we've seen a darker side of Harry emerge in the past several books so it would not have surprised me to see Harry do anything to save his daughter. The name of the book is Changes afterall - what do you think that means? :)
I can't Harry blame at all. That would have blown anyone's fuse. Yes, I did believe Harry when he said he and Susan were through, however, it was still difficult because he loved her - perhaps still does. But what about his feelings for Murphy? Not really spoken about, but still there.
Susan's point was a very valid one. Maggie would not have had any kind of normal life with either parent. Harry has alot of enemies that would use anyone close to him to get to him. That list goes on and on...
Martin is difficult to figure out; he comes off as, well, just blah - someone who maybe blends into the background. Since he's a total unknown, I didn't trust him.
Loved the tee shirt!
Yes, I did think that Arianna likes to play with her food; she's a Red Court vampire - they're true form is rather digusting...I get a mental picture of mutated squid-like things, only because that's, well disgusting.
6. Harry’s going through all this sans coffee! Yikes. (If that’s the case, it is a good thing Molly was there to keep Harry calm in Edinburgh.) Have you ever tried to quite caffeine?
Best I could own up to is cutting down from a whole pot plus a day to maybe 2 or 3 cups. Give it up entirely?...not in this lifetime.
Gregori Cristos clearly does not inspire trust..wacko yes. Working with Duchess Arianna? What do you get when you cross a wacko with a sociopath...
I think Anastasia Luccio is a stand-up kind of wizard. If she can help Harry, she will.
WTH?
I don't trust the guy either. No clue why he felt he needed to threaten Molly other than he could.
10. BOOK QUOTE: “My laboratory,” I said, experimentally drawing out each syllable. “Why is it that saying it like that always makes me want to follow with ‘mwoo-hah-hah-hah-hahhhhhh?” FOFLMBO!
Good to see that Harry still has his bizarre sense of humor.
11. Ritual gear? Thank goodness for Bob. But – yikes! Then there is that requirement of a human sacrifice, an innocent human sacrifice. Comments.
Red Court vampires; a human sacrifice means nothing to them. Humans means nothing to them. Unfortunately during the course of history, human sacrifices were made as part of certain rituals.
12. For some reason that scene with the FBI at Harry’s door and Harry down in the basement laboratory freaked me out more than the centipede. Plus, I knew that thing was going to regenerate into two. You?
That thing splitting in 2 totally creeped me out.
13. Gulp. Poor Bob.
Poor Bob indeed.
14. So… what do you think of FBI Agent Barry Tilly – AKA “Slim”? Think he really believes Harry is innocent of blowing up his building?
Yeah, I did believe he thinks Harry is innocent although Tilly probably thinks Harry knows more than he's saying.
15. Okay, of all the sections, I had to re-read that part about the paparazzi and someone attempting a drive-by assassination on Harry. I mean, WTH? I sure if Harry was in touch with reality there or not. Thank goodness for his duster. Anywayz… who do you think was behind it?
And the list goes on and on...
I don't remember what I thought back during my first read, and since I just finished the book today and know who was behind it - I'll pass on the answer.
16. What a place to end: Harry’s faerie godmother, Leanansidhe of the Winter Court, is waiting for him. And oh, by the way, Susan and Martin are in coffin-sized green silk cocoons hanging from his apartment’s wall and ceiling!! Comments.
Poor Leanansidhe...she's so misunderstood [insert snarky humor here]. I had thought she was only trying to help, in her own very strange way. What's a fairy godmother for?

#1 – I didn’t have a clue until I was posting the synopsis for this thread. I don’t read them, but when a spoiler is the last word, it is kind of hard to ignore while doing a “cut & paste.”
#2 – LOL! Another ‘change.’ Or a just a miracle.
#4 – Very interesting theory, ShoSho.
#5 – Oh, yes, Molly’s; changed it.
#6 – Some people give it up due to health reasons (heart palpitations, etc.).
#7 – Hmmm… I hadn’t thought of her as being part of the Black Council. I’m about 100% sure Cristos is, though.
#8 – Maybe. I still don’t trust her again.
#9 – Yes, a wild card.
#10 – And I loved the way James Marsters narrated that part, too. LMBO! Too, too funny.
#11 – Oh, now you have me thinking.
#12 – This is what I love about “buddy reads” – everyone gets something different.
#13 – He did? Just because he denied being with Harry? LOL!
#14 – LOL! Probably.
#16 – Yeah, I wasn’t expecting Lea, either.
LOL! Over Mouse driving. ☺

Yes, I’ve re-read several of them, too. I’m sure I’ll do the whole series over again. Good thing I’ll already have these DQs for the future.
Neat you are joining us!
#2 – I agree. Harry is getting darker and more powerful. I had to come to that realization a book or two ago, though I didn’t want to realize it. He’ll always be ♥Harry♥ to me. I think it mean MAJOR changes.
#4 – You know, you’re right. He is “blah.” And JB has tricked us with “blah” before.
#5 – Ugh!
#7 – Oh, dear! Nothing good, that’s for sure.
#8 – Alright you two… I’ll think about trusting her again.
#14 – Well, Harry does know more than he’s saying. Of course, Tilly ‘can’t handle the truth.’ ☺
#16 – LMBO!

#2.it means "Harry changes"?!
#5.Ughh mutated squid-like things!disgusting
#6. I don't drink that much . I drink between 2-3 cups a day and rarely 4!
#16.yep only trying to help!!

#10.And I loved the way James Marsters narrated that part, too."
with these books there is a huge difference between reading and listening .

19.Lea made the vampire part of Susan and Martin to go to sleep .Could it be destroyed? Could Thomas’s demon be destroyed?
20.The ruby was a great help to Harry ,but what if he hadn’t realised to ask for it? Would she have given it to him on her own? Or had she only come to Harry to give it him? His mother lost the ability to sleep soundly because of the Ruby and it’s knowledge , what will be its effect on Harry?
21.The titbit about the oldest vampire being able to wear any flesh mask seems to be important and it makes them more scary! Comments.
22.Susan and Murphy are probably right thinking Molly is in love with Harry but is she still single because she pining after him? Her reaction after Susan kissed ,what does it tell you?
23.What Martin described about the carnage was horrible, was it how you thought Maggie was taken? I had thought she was kidnapped and the foster family had notified Susan. It never occurred to me they could be dead and in that way! It made me believe Susan is telling the truth.
24. Have you noticed Harry has started calling his mother “Mom”?
25.when was the last time Susan drank one of Harry’s potion? what was the effect?
26.what do you think happened to Luccio? Is she in danger? Has Cristo captured the Senior council too? It seems Ramirez wasn’t captured ,where is he? BTW it was a funny and very telling note!I loved the note with all its capitalizations !
27.Does Ebenezar know who Maggie is? What do you think of the lesson he tried to teach harry ? Wasn’t it similar to what the Merlin said? Is he going to help?
28.I’d thought Ivy would help ,pity that she didn’t. At least she told Harry who to contact! What did you think of Harry meeting with Marcone?
29.Finally we met Miss Gard's boss Donar Vadderung or I better say Odin .What did you think of him and his security, stainless steel all over the bill? What do you think was in the tea and the donuts? How can it help Harry?
30.the red king and the Lord of Outer night going to do a blood line curse using Maggie as the human sacrifice.Thoughts on the involvment of gods and the curse itself? Is it going to effect the Raiths too? Why Harry and why the bloodline curse?
31.Was his option 3 becoming the winter knight?
32.Is the Red king who ordered Rudolph to frame Harry? If yes why and if no who?
33.Did you like how Thomas reacted to the news?
34.what do you think of Harry comparing himself and other people to scarecrow and the tin woodsman(Oz) , is it going to mean something more at the end?
35. Is it wise to involve Lara?
36. We met the Eebs! Are they weird or what? What do you think of them and these things they said? First Maya?Ariana manipulating Harry?Harry's options? Chattel from their natural habitat? White council will be tortured in 6 months?
37. What does Harry mean by backward?
38.Is it the end of blue beettle ?And he lost his staff. again.
39.That Soulgaze! And the aftermath. I was thinking I like how Mouse still likes Thomas although he's not all good and then it all went down the drain! Molly's reaction was so surprising!!!! Thoughts?
40. Who is the fire starter?

Just a little background for how I had taken the title.
Several years prior to reading Changes, there was a Doctor Who spin-off series called Torchwood that I used to watch on Syfy. The bombardment of commercials for the first season was nearly overwhelming, and the constant message of those commercials was "Everything Changes." To me, I heard that phrase with capital letters, and it stuck. So, when Changes came out, in my head I kept hearing "Everything Changes." [yeah, yeah, shouldn't admit to hearing things in my head...] And that thought just stayed in my head throughout the whole read, both times.
More later, don't want to provide any spoilers...

I think they're brown. But really, would you look into Harry's eyes and risk a soulgaze? My answer - Ohhh probably so...if only. :)

17.mmm wow , did you guess about the owner of the garden? And how Leanansidhe had protected Harry from the intruders coming from the other side?
Never thought it was the Leanansidhe. I was surprised about the protection angle, but if you think about in retrospect, someone had to have been protecting him from all the evil things that go bump in the night (and worse) that could have crossed through. Just goes back to my previous comment...she's doing what any strange, bizarre, blood-thirsty fairy godmother would do. :)
18.Is Maggie a wizard? Is she completely human?
I think it's too soon to tell, but she sure does have some strong genes running through her. I would suspect that she's not entirely human either; what about the genes from Susan?
19.Lea made the vampire part of Susan and Martin to go to sleep .Could it be destroyed? Could Thomas’s demon be destroyed?
Would be very cool if it could. If the vampire part could be magically manipulated to go to sleep, what else can be done is a huge question.
Difficult to say; the sidhe haven't been known to willingly part with knowledge without a price, but she is the fairy godmother (poor Harry). But she is there basically under Mab's instructions, so who really knows. I'd like to think she would have done the right thing; maybe I just like to see the good in people.
I think in time, the ruby will probably have an effect on Harry, but it might take a backseat to everything else he's going through.
21.The titbit about the oldest vampire being able to wear any flesh mask seems to be important and it makes them more scary! Comments.
Absolutely scary, creepy, skin crawlie, ick!
22.Susan and Murphy are probably right thinking Molly is in love with Harry but is she still single because she pining after him? Her reaction after Susan kissed ,what does it tell you?
Yeah, I think Molly has a thing for Harry; is it love or infatuation - hard to tell. She doesn't have a normal life either, and Harry is one of those closest to her other than her family that knows about everything that regular humans don't. I think if I were her, I would think twice before bringing a human into her world.
23.What Martin described about the carnage was horrible, was it how you thought Maggie was taken? I had thought she was kidnapped and the foster family had notified Susan. It never occurred to me they could be dead and in that way! It made me believe Susan is telling the truth.
By this time, I had to believe Susan. I didn't think that it was as bad as Martin described, but since it was at the hand of the Red Court, I had thought that there was probably bloodshed.
24. Have you noticed Harry has started calling his mother “Mom”?
It made me happy to see that...or hear it since I listened to the audiobook this time.
25.when was the last time Susan drank one of Harry’s potion? what was the effect?
I don't remember...will just need to move up the timing of my re-re-reads. Any excuse will do.
26.what do you think happened to Luccio? Is she in danger? Has Cristo captured the Senior council too? It seems Ramirez wasn’t captured ,where is he? BTW it was a funny and very telling note!I loved the note with all its capitalizations !
I think Luccio was captured along with the senior council. She's likely in danger, but let's keep good thoughts there, I really believe she's one of the good guys.
27.Does Ebenezar know who Maggie is? What do you think of the lesson he tried to teach harry ? Wasn’t it similar to what the Merlin said? Is he going to help?
Harry hasn't told him, and Ebenezar doesn't know. I thought it was a hard lesson that Harry just can't buy into in this instance. He wants help, he needs help, and he's just not going to get it here. I hope Ebenezar eventually comes through; he does have great feelings for Harry.
28.I’d thought Ivy would help ,pity that she didn’t. At least she told Harry who to contact! What did you think of Harry meeting with Marcone?
It's always interesting when Harry meets with Gentleman Johnny Marcone. In typical Dresden fashion, he leaves with a threat - gotta love Harry!
29.Finally we met Miss Gard's boss Donar Vadderung or I better say Odin .What did you think of him and his security, stainless steel all over the bill? What do you think was in the tea and the donuts? How can it help Harry?
Maybe just a red herring
30.the red king and the Lord of Outer night going to do a blood line curse using Maggie as the human sacrifice.Thoughts on the involvment of gods and the curse itself? Is it going to effect the Raiths too? Why Harry and why the bloodline curse?
Oh boy, I'm going to plead the 5th; I don't want to give away any spoilers. The only thing I'll say without giving anything away is it will be explained in detail further in the book.
I think this is Harry just being Harry as he said "if I only had a brain..." when referring to himself. Dresden humor - yup, gotta love Harry.
35. Is it wise to involve Lara?
With what's at stake (no pun intended), Harry's going to involve her, wise or not
36. We met the Eebs! Are they weird or what? What do you think of them and these things they said? First Maya?Ariana manipulating Harry?Harry's options? Chattel from their natural habitat? White council will be tortured in 6 months?
The Eebs need to die, plain and simple. JTCTL - just too creepy to live.
37. What does Harry mean by backward?
38.Is it the end of blue beettle ?And he lost his staff. again.
It very well may be
39.That Soulgaze! And the aftermath. I was thinking I like how Mouse still likes Thomas although he's not all good and then it all went down the drain! Molly's reaction was so surprising!!!! Thoughts?
That came out of left field. Never would have expected that from Thomas; good thing Mouse was there. I really liked how Mouse handled Thomas - stopping him without really hurting him. Mouse has good reads on people - vampires too.
40. Who is the fire starter?
I really think it has to be the Red Court.

#18. yes exactly , what if she's got 1/4 vampire in her?! She might not be wizard , though. I remember Harry saying people get the wizard gene from their mothers.
#19.That'd be great ,one of the things I really to see happen in this series is Thomas getting rid of his demon.
#22. You got a point there!
#25.;)
#29.I hope it's more than that!
#36.LOL

Sorry, but I've had an unexpected family emergency, so I may be finishing this one on a plane to L.A.

Sorry, but I've had an unexpected family emergency, so I may be finishing this one on a plane to L.A."
Hope everything's okay, Lisa Kay.

That was my problem...couldn't wait to start and kept wanting to read more...until I finished. :)

That was my problem...couldn't wait to start and kept wanting to read more...until I finished. :)"
I'm on chapter 45 ,it's just ... I don't have any words for it ! I'll probably finish in a couple of hours

Shosho's questions for chapters 28-38
(view spoiler)

LOL! Okay, I'm about ready to pick it up again.

The anti-biotics have really taken a lot out of me and my father has been having numerous doctor appointments and tests, which has really cut into my listening time.
I hope to catch up over the weekend.

(((Cyber hugs)))

Better late than never - here are my answers to Lisa Kay's questions for chapters 1-14:
1. OK, so I never really warmed up to Susan and this only solidifies my dislike...
Yes, Arianna took Maggie but to me the real question is whether or not Susan is lying about more than just Maggie's paternity.
2. Troubling...I have to wonder if Mac's comments aren't prophetic...
3. Don't blame Harry at all and I can only hope they really are through. Yes, Susan's concern was valid but that does not condone her keeping Maggie a secret from her father. She took the choice away from him.
4. Martin seemed OK the last time we saw him so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Yes, Harry is jealous and behaving a little childishly especially considering his claim that he and Susan are over.
5. Yes, this has all been a long time in the planning. I agree with Murphy that Arianna has an agenda where Harry is concerned and it doesn't entail killing him at this time. Something tells me she will regret that decision though...
6. I'm a tea drinker and must have a cup in the morning or else...
7. Lol! Yes, definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle...
8. Luccio also seems to have proven herself so I think she will live up to her promises.
9. Langrty is an advocate of the ends justify the means approach to morality. He's only interested in the greater good and has no trouble allowing an innocent child or two to die if he achieves his goals.
10. Lol! Harry cracks me up.
11. Things are not looking up for Maggie!
12. Hmm...abuse of power much. I really hope that Rudolph is put in his place real soon.
13. Bob is NOT going to like being in the ground. I'm actually concerned about the two swords being in the NeverNever. Not sure that this bodes well...
14. Yes, I think that Tilly does believe him. The question is whether this is because he believes in Harry or because he is in cahoots with the baddies...
15. Not sure but I don't think its Arianna as we have already established that she could have blown Harry to kingdom come if she wanted. So that means someone else is in the game...
16. I guess Susan and Martin must have pissed Lea off ;0)

1. I also have my doubts…we nay have Susan’s word after all.
4. Ah…I love a good conspiracy theory :0)

17. Mmm wow, did you guess about the owner of the garden? And how Leanansidhe had protected Harry from the intruders coming from the other side?
I was completely and utterly surprised by this. Mab cured Lea? Is that why Lea sold Harry’s debt to her?
18. Is Maggie a wizard? Is she completely human?
I’m with Joann; too early to tell. I’m also wondering about Susan’s effect on her.
19. Lea made the vampire part of Susan and Martin to go to sleep. Could it be destroyed? Could Thomas’s demon be destroyed?
Oh, I’d love it if it could.
20. The ruby was a great help to Harry, but what if he hadn’t realized to ask for it? Would she have given it to him on her own? Or had she only come to Harry to give it him? His mother lost the ability to sleep soundly because of the Ruby and its knowledge, what will be its effect on Harry?
There is no way Lea would have given it to him without his asking. I worry about its effect and the “downfall” warning.
21. The tidbit about the oldest vampire being able to wear any flesh mask seems to be important and it makes them more scary! Comments.
Me, too!
22. Susan and Murphy are probably right thinking Molly is in love with Harry but is she still single because she pining after him? Her reaction after Susan kissed, what does it tell you?
I think Molly still has a bit of a crush on Harry, but I’m hoping she’ll outgrow it. I’m also hoping she and Carlos Ramirez get together.
23. What Martin described about the carnage was horrible, was it how you thought Maggie was taken? I had thought she was kidnapped and the foster family had notified Susan. It never occurred to me they could be dead and in that way! It made me believe Susan is telling the truth.
Yup. It was pretty bad. Nope, didn’t think of it.
24. Have you noticed Harry has started calling his mother “Mom”?
Nope. Missed that.
25. When was the last time Susan drank one of Harry’s potion? What was the effect?
Oh, I definitely remember this. LOL! It was funny, even if I knew Susan was going to take the wrong one. Dresden Wiki describes it as this:
In Storm Front, Harry brews up two potions, one an escape potion and the other a love potions (at Bob's insistence). Later, when the apartment is invaded by a toad demon, Harry tells Susan Rodriguez to go down to the lab and take the vanishing potion, but somehow ends up taking the love potion by mistake. They both go down and stand in the copper circle barely in time to block its acid spittle. Then the love potion Susan took kicks in.26. What do you think happened to Luccio? Is she in danger? Has Cristo captured the Senior Council too? It seems Ramirez wasn’t captured, where is he? BTW it was a funny and very telling note! I loved the note with all its capitalizations!
If I had to guess, I’d say they imprisoned Luccio and Ramirez got away. Of course, since I know nothing, it could be the other way around. Hopefully, one of them got away! As far as the letter, I had to refer to the book to see, as with that part I was listening to the audio. LOL! Funny. Clever Steed.
27. Does Ebenezar know who Maggie is? What do you think of the lesson he tried to teach Harry? Wasn’t it similar to what the Merlin said? Is he going to help?
I’m betting Ebenezar will figured it out soon enough. Yes, very reminiscent to Merlin’s spiel – which bothers me. Still, I think he’s going to help.
28. I’d thought Ivy would help; pity that she didn’t. At least she told Harry who to contact! What did you think of Harry meeting with Marcone?
I think she helped as much as she could. Plus, who knows what Kincaid was censoring. I like Marcone, even though he’s ‘bad.’ **shrugs** I always enjoy his and Harry’s interactions.
29. Finally we met Miss Gard's boss Donar Vadderung or I better say Odin. What did you think of him and his security, stainless steel all over the bill? What do you think was in the tea and the donuts? How can it help Harry?
I liked him, and I liked that he liked Harry. Surely the donuts being white with sprinkles has some significance. LOL! So, he has a sense of humor, too. I think they’ll be of help.
30. The Red King and the Lord of Outer Night going to do a blood line curse using Maggie as the human sacrifice. Thoughts on the involvement of gods and the curse itself? Is it going to affect the Raiths too? Why Harry and why the bloodline curse?
So many good questions, none of which I can answer! LOL! That bloodline curse is pretty scary. I’ve long suspected there is more to Harry’s heritage than we know. Retired gods or not, I wouldn’t want to mess with them. I was wondering the same thing about the Raiths. The whole Victor Sells-heart ripping thing shocked me. Makes me want to re-read book #1! LOL!
31. Was his option 3 becoming the Winter Knight?
Yes.
32. Is the Red King who ordered Rudolph to frame Harry? If yes why and if no who?
I think so, but I’m not sure what the Red King’s plans are… but I’ll go with what Harry thinks, which is someone wants to distract him from searing for Maggie.
33. Did you like how Thomas reacted to the news?
LOL! A lot like Harry: stunned. I enjoyed it.
34. What do you think of Harry comparing himself and other people to Scarecrow and the Tin Woodsman (Oz), is it going to mean something more at the end?
Hmmm… I hadn’t thought of that. Could be.
35. Is it wise to involve Lara?
Hmmm… well, it makes sense… but I don’t know how wise it is. She’s the wildest wild card.
36. We met the Eebs! Are they weird or what? What do you think of them and these things they said? First Maya? Arianna manipulating Harry? Harry's options? Chattel from their natural habitat? White Council will be tortured in 6 months?
Gruesome pair! Right, some options. I picked up on that ‘tortured for six months.’ Interesting. By whom? And poor Harry – nauseated with a hard-on. Then Esmerelda’s transformation: Yuck.
37. What does Harry mean by backward?
I don’t know. Maybe that he’s finding things out a little too late… that he should have discovered them sooner?
38. Is it the end of Blue Beetle? And he lost his staff. Again.
I can’t believe it is the end of the Blue Beetle! Yikes! I wonder what would replace it? I can believe he lost his staff.
39. That Soulgaze! And the aftermath. I was thinking I like how Mouse still likes Thomas although he's not all good and then it all went down the drain! Molly's reaction was so surprising!!!! Thoughts?
I was completely stunned by this turn of events. Oh, poor, poor Thomas! I had what Harry had to say to him, although true. How awful. I’m worried that Molly will still want to be licked in the future. Not good.
40. Who is the fire starter?
No clue. Must read on!

Sorry, Lauren!

#17 – Yes, I was surprised over Lea’s protection angle, too. Shows how complex JB’s characters are.
#19 – Yes, a huge question.
#28 – I feel the same way about Marcone and Harry interacting.
#29 – Oh! I hadn’t considered that. Yes, it could just be Odin showing his sense of humor.
#34 – Ah! Yes, could be.
#36 – LMBO! True.
#39 – I felt the same – it came as a complete stunner. ♥Mouse♥

I'm trying to catch up, and find Harry a welcome escape, actually. Alas, Real Life - and Death - must be dealt with.

That's who I was thinking of too, when we started discussing Martin being blah.

#2 – I think they’re very prophetic!
#4 – Oh, good. I thought I was alone in this.
#6 – Tea drinker here, too.

#13 – Very true about Bob, and the swords!
#14 – Oh, Good Gravy Beans! I hadn’t thought of that. LOL!
