Is this a series?

I have now verified that Winners are complete, as against the GR database (which is to say, short story winners with no standalone short story record to log the award against are often missing, and sometimes the same is true of novelettes available only in anthologies that are not [yet?] listed as books). I also fixed several that were listed against the wrong year, and one with no year, and removed a couple of erroneous listings. Nominees, as is the case with most awards, are more sporadic, but still fairly extensive. I'll work through those as time permits.
If anyone else wants to pitch in, official winner and nominee records are linked by year, starting from the first year here:
https://nebulas.sfwa.org/award-year/1...
ETA: Tracking down the right source for a short work is much eased by using ISFDB title searches, such as
http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cg...
A great many of the major lit mags are listed and up to date but for the relevant award. It gets tricky when there is more than one winner in a single record though; I've been limiting myself to one per, because I don't even want to find out what kind of bug will be revealed by trying to list more.

However if only a few are connected, that doesn't make a series anyway, so that may not matter.

I'm a super. Is this something I should know how to do? Is there a reference for the how-to or for the qualification (or disqualifications)? Or should I just continue to leave this to the supers who do already know?

I'm not sure there is a reference, but here is how to make a list static (for Super-Librarians only):
Go to the list you need to make static
Click edit
Check the Static List option (above the Save button)
Most of the time static lists are reserved for things like imprints or a specific curated list. GR's recent blog has a list for examples: https://www.goodreads.com/blog/show/1842
Hope that helps.

in my opinion - not

I think it is. It seems to apply to all editions of each work, and they have quite a bit more in common than just a theme.

I thought it had to include a "world" in common, so now I'm confused. Not to argue, just wanting to learn.

Yep, 865 would seem to be a non-fiction series the same as this one is:

I'm voting imprint not a series. I will remove tomorrow unless someone says differently.
Edit: I don't make lists so if someone wants to make a list please let me know & I will delay deleting until the list is completed.

No problem, I'm not normally either but I had time today

Has been added to by a number of librarians - & I haven't seen a series like this. I wouldn't feel confident working on this, so I will leave for someone who works with series a lot or who knows these books well.

I am not familiar with it, but they appear to be all set in a single shared universe. We have quite a few series like that.

It's a shared universe.
I googled and found this:
"The Horus Heresy is an ongoing series of science fantasy set in the fictional Warhammer 40,000 setting of tabletop miniatures wargame company Games Workshop. Penned by several authors, the series takes place during the Horus Heresy, a fictional galaxy-spanning civil war occurring 10,000 years prior to the far future of Warhammer 40,000. The war is described as a major contributing factor to the game's dystopian environment..."
"The Horus Heresy is a dark, far future military space opera[1] concerning an intergalactic civil war within the nascent Imperium of Man, and which constitutes a cornerstone event of the dystopian science fantasy Warhammer 40,000 universe. The Horus Heresy is presented as a major chapter of conflict in the Warhammer 40,000 lore: it is caused by a Chaos plot to foil the Imperium's leader and founder, the mysterious Emperor of Man, by fomenting rebellion and internecine warfare in the expanding Imperium of Man. The story focuses on the Emperor's 21 genetically engineered lieutenants, the Primarchs, and the legions of genetically-enhanced superhuman soldiers that they lead, the Legiones Astartes, which find themselves divided into loyalist and traitor factions as they struggle for religious hegemony.
The shared universe was originally created in 1987 by Games Workshop, parent company of series publisher Black Library, as the campaign setting for the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniatures wargame[3] and in 2006 Black Library began publishing The Horus Heresy series."

I'm not seeing anything that suggests all the books share a world-building or characters. A few seem to have cross-over, but not enough for a series.
One of the more recent ones has a Vampire, while the early ones are fireman/military heroes (doesn't exclude a "series", but would be a bit of a jump after 200+ books).

Agreed. This looks like a theme (the man knows what he wants) rather than a series. A couple of the examples I read say they are standalones.

Wanted to double check as the first book is a finalist in the GR Choice Awards, so I am hoping someone has read this. :)

Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel and his two subsequent books that appear to examine the rise and fall and other challenges of civilizations in general. What do you think?

What do you all think?

If you do it and need help to finish entering all books, let us know (I remember that you can only enter a limited number of books, last time I made a lit for an imprint, I had to ask someone to enter the last ones for me due to that)

I'm working on the list. I'll add the first 50 then palm the rest of it off on some others. 😁

Looks to me like an anthology series, which doesn't fit into the definition of the Goodread series.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a series but want other opinions before deleting.

I'm (definitely now!) not a list librarian. I'll leave for a few days & then delete unless someone wants to make a list.

As far as I can tell the only thing these books have in common is that they are set in NZ. Doesn't seem to be any common characters or over arcing storyline.

The Nebula is pretty popular, so the award category seems fairly well curated and pretty complete, at least for winners the last few decades. I just had to update the 1987 novella winner (recorded as a duplicate 1988 winner), and from there it probably gets thinner.
