So as it appears I've made a snap judgment on this book and I'm now hooked. I'm kind of liking mockingjay more than I like catching fire. There's less Peeta/Katniss obviously but (view spoiler)[ I'm kind of living for crazy Peeta. I'm warming to katniss again. I don't really hate her as much as I did in the first 5 or so chapters in this book. I hate Snow for what he did to 8. I loved Boggs :(:( I don't really like Gale but I do at the same time bc he obviously cares and i love this book now. I think it was just difficult for me to start. I don't know I'm weird. So heartbreaking when Peeta tried to strangle Katniss and then called her a mutt! The capitol really missed with his head. I hope Snow's demise is a satisfying one. (hide spoiler)]

She's taken Peeta's love for granted and now she can't even show a little desperation towards Peeta and show him how much she longs for him to remember/love her again. When he says something offensive to her, she hits straight back with a taunt instead of dwelling on what he's done for her and hold her tongue. She's so selfish!! She also leading Gale on... End of chapter one: (view spoiler)[I like the fact that Katnis goes back to visit the ruins of district 12. However, the start of this book seems very anti-climactic compared to the end of the last book. I just feel that this book could have started out with more action or, just differently. End of chapter two: (view spoiler)[I really like the way Collins explains the history of how district 13 was demolished and how the games started. I also like how she explains what life is like in 13. I do wish this book had Peeta's point of view though. (hide spoiler)]

End of chapter four: (view spoiler)[I really like Prim's character growth from Hunger Games. I feel that she isn't the little girl who needs protecting any more. I like how effortlessly the description of life in 13 is woven in with the rest of the story. I don't really like Coin because I see her as another Snow. (hide spoiler)] Have you seen the movie?

I agree, but I think that Collins is doing it to underline the separation Katnis and Gale have gone through compared with The Hunger Games.

I was actually surprised that I didn't cry when the hospital was bombed and all of the people killed because I did when I saw the movie. I think part of it is because watching the violence on screen feels more real to me. I really like the propose they're making. Like Katnis, I was also startled by Peeta's change. (hide spoiler)]

End of book: Honestly, I feel as if I liked this book the second time around. When I first read it, I was in seventh grade and (view spoiler)[was outraged by Prim's death and the epilogue. However, now that I'm a senior in high school I see so much symbolism in all of the deaths, but especially Prim's. (hide spoiler)] I'm definitely changing my rating.

No, not at all. in fact, part of me wants to say that I like the movies more than I've liked the books. I feel that the movies give you a wider view of things.
