I am about 20% through it and really liking it so far. I am enjoying her reaction to meeting the author she is obssessed with. Then after she embarasses herself, she has to show him around town. She also has my second favorite job of assistant manager for a bookstore. (Favorite is my current job in a library, although I have worked in a used bookstore as well in the past)

Week 4: 24/11/13
Shelf: Demons
29/11/13 ★★★
Great start to a new series, though reminiscent of BDB and Midnight Breed, our 'band of brothers' aren't vampires but "are the Sentinels. Three races descended from ancient guardians of mankind". These Sentinels are guarding us from the Synestron, demons who want to eat Magic, and if there aren't any Sentinels around, humans will do.
Our H, Drake is a Theronai warrior, and interestingly the warriors all have living tattoos of trees and if they lose all their leaves they die, after going insane. They need to bond to their love to avoid death. Our h, Helen Day, has had a vision all her life of dying in fire, while being watched by a man, smiling. Guess who the man is?????
I quite enjoyed this story even though Helen had a few TSTL moments, and luckily friends have advised that future women are stronger and less stupid, so I'll be continuing the series.

I finished my demons book on Wed and will post my review later when I am on my laptop and not on my kindle. I purposely stayed offline yesterday and finished a few books from the Psy-Changeling series, which I have become addicted to since starting this game. They don't really fit any of my challenges, so I took a day for random reading.

Review: I have totally read this series out of order, so I already knew that Lucern and Kate were going to get together. The book was just kind of boring to me, and I couldn't really get into it. Some parts were really interesting like some of the moments at the Romance readers conference. Then others it dragged on so bad I felt like I was at the dentist getting teeth pulled.

So, I ended up reading two different series by the same author this week. I prefer this series, probably because the main character works in a bookstore. I really liked the way the characters interacted with each other. Georgina's relationship with her boss seems a little bit more like a father/daughter one than it should be, but I like that he isn't forcing her to do more than necessary. I did figure out who the bad guy was a little early, but there was a twist I was not expecting. I think I will continue reading this series.

I think that series was one of my first exposures to this genre. I really enjoyed it and wish there were more books.

Another good installment and I'm so sad it's the next to last one! The stakes couldn't be higher in this one for Risa. It's becoming pretty clear that she's not going to be able to locate the keys without involving her friends and family. And can I just say that Amayla, her sword is too cool. Keri Arthur never disappoints and I'm going to be sad to see these come to an end.

*crossing fingers that urban fantasy is called tomorrow. I have my book picked out and queued up to read as soon as the shelf is called. I need to read it in December anyway for another challenge.*

Oh wow so good! Penryn has grown up some and I can't wait to see where Ms. EE takes this after the way this one ended. I had a hard time putting this down and IMO it was even better than the first one. I really hope we don't have to wait so long for the next installment!

I sat down and read this book all in one sitting today and now I have to wait until next year to read the next one.
There are six girls in competition to become the next princess. There are more ups and downs in the relationship between Maxon and America and the capital is still getting attacked by rebels. The most obnoxious girl (and pretty obviously not the one going to be chosen, but has to be there for the tension in the story) causes havoc and America to have doubts about why she is staying.
I did not like the interaction between Aspen(ex-boyfriend and now guard) and America in this book as much as in the last one. It just seemed to not really be needed and distracted from the real action. I found myself wanting to skim over those parts of the book.
We now have more hints as to what the rebels are really after and there were a couple of twists in the story I was not expecting. I have some high expectations for what is coming in the next book and I hope it does not disappoint.

Review: This book is about a girl, Heven, who falls in love with a boy, Sam. Neither of them are who they think they are. Sam is a hellhound, and has to protect Heven throughout the book. It seems like all he does is lead trouble her way. This book definitely wasn't what I expected. It had lots of unexpected events and surprises.

Week 5: 1/12/13
Shelf: First, Second or Third
4/12/13 ★★★★
So glad I came across this author and series. It was funny, and a nice change of pace with our heroine, Verity Price, wanting to be a professional ballroom dancer, even though she grew up in a family, described as cryptozoologists ie they look after all the weird creatures that the humans don't know about.
Even her way of getting around NYC & Manhattan was different - free running, luckily I knew what that was, having seen some beautiful free running on TV and youtube a couple of years ago.
Enter our H, Dominic De Luca, a Covenant of St George agent. The enemy of the Prices. The Covenant rule is, if it isn't human, kill it. So, what's a girl to do ..... kiss him and make him better. LOL.
Also loved the talking, religious mice that live with Verity.
Already ordered the next book and will check out the shorts as well.

The last half of this book was super good and I wish more of the story had been on that part. It was nice to get back to Elena and Raphael! It's been a while since they had a book. It does set things up nicely for the future books and (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Yes! I finally got to find out who Ghost is. This book also explains the background for Kaleb Krycheck and what he is searching for. He is one of the most powerful Psy as a dual cardinal in Telepathy and Telekinetics. He has been searching for Sahara since she was kidnapped seven years ago. He finally finds her, but she needs much mental healing to discover who she has become. He has created a house just for her, but find that he needs to let her go to her family in order to eventually come back to him.
This book had much more just relationship issues between main characters and less action in the coming conflict. However, it also had the major turning point in the world of the three races. It makes me wonder what the coming books are going to be like. I was not expecting to get so attached to these books, but I have now read them all in the last month and have to wait 6 months for the next one. They keep getting better.

93% finished with Tiger, my 5 star book, review shortly.

Week 5: 1/12/13
Shelf #9: 5 stars
7/12/13 ★★★★
I loved Tiger, what a sweetie. Zandy was pretty good too, but Tiger stole the show.
Tiger always swore he wouldn't take a human as mate and be vulnerable ever again. He bagged his friends who had done that and couldn't understand why they had done it. Like it was a choice. LOL.
Zandy, twice divorced woman wasn't keen on making it 'third time lucky' either.
But they just couldn't get enough of each other whilst still denying any involvement.
Tiger was just sooooo romantic without even trying.
