The Road to Science Fiction 1 a multi-book anthology charting the history of sf - this first volume's all pre-20th century stuff and pretty interesting. Also finishing up the bizarre The 57th Franz Kafka by Rudy Rucker -- that is, if I can find where I put it in my apt!
I'm reading Anne Rice's The Witching Hour and enjoying it very much.Last night I started Fallen Dragon, my first Peter F. Hamilton novel.
Only about 40% through Boneshaker and 30% through The Mongoliad: Book Three. I'm really trying to finish at least Boneshaker before I move onto this month's pick (which I've already procured).I also have Steelheart in the immediate queue along with some books by Roald Dahl.
I'm so bad at this reading thing these days.
I am still in to
because loading Windows 8.1 played some havoc with the audible downloads on my itunes. I do like it however.
I am finishing up Bujold's Sharing Knife series with Horizon -- I am so grateful for this book club as it has introduced me to Bujold and her wonderful writing! Romance isn't really my thing, but I've been sucked into this series all the same as the Chalion set. I will probably wait a little bit before trying her Vorkosigan series -- only because I have so many books on my to read list already. My next few planned reads are Ancillary Justice, Ender's Game (have had the paperback on the bookshelf for a few years now and never read it), and Under the Dome (for a local book club I just joined). I also have Wild Cards and Grave Mercy e-books checked out from the library if I make it through those books. If. The Under the Dome book club isn't meeting until the beginning of January, so I might switch stuff around.
Right now I am also reading S., which I suspect is going to take me awhile as a side project because of it's nontraditional narrative.
I went to the bookstore during my lunch and bought Ancillary Justice and plan to start reading it tonight.
I won't be reading Ancillary Justice this month :(. Couldn't get it through the library (nor physical or digital). I'm reading Ender's Gamein the mean time.
Carolina:It's a brand-new book, so you might want to check again with the library mid-month. Haven't started it myself, but I keep hearing positive stuff.
After I finish Ancillary Justice, I'm going to read Three Parts Dead, because damn, it sounds interesting.
Recently finished The Hotel On The Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford for another book club. About to tart on Joyland by Stephen King.
From a fantasy/sci-fi perspective, reading Witch Fire by James Clemens.
Joe Informatico wrote: "After I finish Ancillary Justice, I'm going to read Three Parts Dead, because damn, it sounds interesting."I really enjoyed Three Parts Dead. I really liked the protagonist, Tara Abernathy. I liked that it had a legal thriller (very interesting combination of magic/necromancy and contract law) feel to it. I eagerly await the sequel!
I'm reading Curse of Chalion right now. By the time it arrived in the mail the bookclub was done with it so I set it on the shelf for a bit. Loving it. Sooooo much.
After that I'll probably tackle Ancillary Justice unless one of the many other unread books on my shelf jumps out at me and demands to be read.

I know! I've heard wonderful comments about, I will re check and maybe will be able to get it :)
I read Night Film by Marisha Pessl. It's one of those that allows you to believe or disbelieve the supernatural elements. It's about a journalist investigating a cult horror director, but is he getting drawn into his own horror story? Now reading Deadlocked, one of the last of the Sookie Stackhouse books.
Finished The Well at the World's End, Volume I so of course I'm continuing on to The Well At The World's End: Volume II.And just because I love the covers:
.
I'm reading the new Tamora Pierce book, Battle Magic and it's really great. I love the fact that she can continue to expand the Circle world fifteen years after Sandry's Book. Next up, Ancillary Justice!
I never read Eddings' the Belgarad all the way through so I'm trying to work on that. I'm only on Queen of Sorcery right now.
Listening to Magic Bleeds and about to start reading Ancillary Justice. Also splurged on the full series of The Sandman as it was on sale on Comixology so working thru the 75 issues.
I finished Naked in Death and I'm currently reading To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 and the audio book of Halfway to the Grave. My plan is to listen to Renegade's Magic to finish off that series which I'm enjoying. I would like to get into Assassin's Apprentice and get a couple of books into that series. I'm finding that I love the way Robin Hobb writes so I would like to explore more of her work.

I'm a fan of William Morris. My favorites are his retelling of the The Volsunga Saga, The Roots of the Mountains, and The House of the Wolfings. I also enjoy his socialist utopia stories A Dream of John Ball and News from Nowhere, Or, an Epoch of Rest: Being Some Chapters from a Utopian Romance. His The Defence of Guenevere is good poetry.
Project Gutenberg has lots of his works. I notice some I've yet to read, more on the to-be-read pile.

Excellent! You've gotten much further than I have -- the only works of his I've read are the ones reprinted in the Ballantine Adult Fantasy series back in the late 1960s/early 1970s.
(Although I have to admit that this time around, I pulled out my BAF paperbacks so that I could read the Lin Carter introductions, but have been reading the story proper on my Kindle via Gutenberg.)
I am still waiting for my copy of Ancillary Justice and have started Great North Road while waiting for it to arrive. It is quite captivating.
reading The Hallowed Hunt but not liking it as much as book 2. picking up Ancillary this afternoon at the library. The reading speed has declined drastically since nano started though...
Have been reading Anna Karenina, but put it to the side to read Ancillary Justice when it became available via our local library.
Spin - really interesting science fiction yarn, got it in a humble bundle and am fully fascinated by the idea of the book. Earth time is slowed down to a trickle in comparison to the rest of the universe but protected from the imminent problems. I am halfway through and the ideas of how humanity could react to this and which possibilities and problems arise are fascinating. Even if the payoff is stupid, the ideas alone are fascinating to follow up. Then I guess I'll continue into the Vorkosigan Saga, as Shards of Honour, from the same bundle, really rekindled my interest in adult sf.
I finished listening to Pandora's Star. Really enjoyed it. My Review.
I plan to do Judas Unchained next month, but I have some other things to listen to in the meantime.

About 17%through with Ancillary Justice then will move on to The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter
Finished House of Chains. (My review if you're so inclined). Now to finished Changeless and maybe read another book before diving into Midnight Tides.
Finished Ancillary JusticeMy Review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

No interruptions allowed :)
In addition to Ancillary Justice, I'm reading Fevre Dream, The Art of War, and Doctor Sleep. After that it's on to The Once and Future King, The Memory Collector and I'm continuing my read of the Matthew Scudder series with When the Sacred Ginmill Closes.
Right now I'm in the middle of Xenocide by Orson Scott Card. And I've also started reading the first trade paper back of the Unwritten comic. The Unwritten, Vol. 1: Tommy Taylor and the Bogus Identity. Not sure how I feel about it yet.
I'm reading A Clash of Kings by George RR Martin. I'm thinking I'm going to take a break from that book to read Ascension by Jacqueline Koyagani. I am also working my way through the short stories in the Old Mars collection.
Reading through Trading in Danger by Elizabeth Moon, very engaging so far and I like that the female lead is just out for glory (something female character rarely do) but I am concerned that it's leading up to a climax where Eco-terrorists are defeated with Chekhov's fruitcakes.
I finished Ancillary Justice (My Review) so now I'm back to Reaper's Gale to catch up with the Malazan Fallen group.
I also started listening to Tigana for my side reads group.
I also started listening to Tigana for my side reads group.
I just read the The Lives of Tao, which was in the Goodreads Choice nominations last week. Pretty good

Love that book."
So do most of my friends it seems. I wasn't around when S&L read it, so I'm finally getting to it now.

Well I've finally been making some progress. I've read two of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary e-shorts, Spore and The Beast of Babylon. Spore (the Eighth Doctor) was the best one yet. I also read Batman, Vol. 1: The Court of Owls and Batman, Vol. 2: The City of Owls over the past couple of days. They were both so good! I've put Zoo City on hold to read The Republic of Thieves. I'm also slowly making my way through Howl's Moving Castle.
