Can't wait for this to be released in the US... really loved the first two... can't wait to hear what you think.

Janice" I plan to read the Spenser novels soon. I really liked the show. Glad someone else thinks the x needs to go too. :)

Now I am reading Run For Your Life - James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge.

Yes I did. I recommended it for my young nieces to read. It was very well written. "
I've now put this one on my to-read list for the rest of the year. I was aware of the title, which I thought was great, but I hadn't really checked it out until reading these postings and finally deciding I needed to do so. Thanks.

4 mysteries in a row!! A Plague on Both Your Houses was good, A Royal Pain a fun fluffy thing, Whose Body? always brilliant, and Maigret and the Headless Corpse which I read in Italian. Excellent and dark.
I've got a series of Rumpole stories coming up soon (and Stiff...can't wait for that!!)

We have at least two mystery bookstores here in the L.A. area - one called "The Mystery Bookstore" near UCLA (they have a wonderful website: mystery-bookstore.com and there is also a website - booktour.com, which gives information on books, signings, appearances, etc. for different areas. Very useful if you travel a lot (and fun to just check out if you're a book love, which we obviously all are here in this room).

Heyer is not a specialist Crime thriller writer. Her genre is Historical fiction. I will not rate this book very high but certainly not bad at all.
I picked up "A Burnt Out Case" by Graham Greene. I am not sure why my library categorised this under Crime thriller. I will know once I finish reading it.
Graham Greene is certainly one of the finest authors of the 20th Century. I will recommend him highly to any one who has not read him.I would rather classify him under literature. A pity he was not awarded the Noble Price.

If it is crime though we'd be especially interested in how you are liking that book and whether or not you'd recommend it to others."

Deborah wrote: "I just started Dean Koontz's Frankstein - Prodigal Son, Book 1...."
Deborah, I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it. I have the first two of the series in my TBR pile.
That sounds interesting Dorie... I'll keep an eye out for your review!

I finished The Kindness of strangers today. It is an amazing thriller. I couldn't put it down.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter - Jeff Lindsay
Furies - Elizabeth Kay
Partners in Crime - Nigel Hinton
Liar - Pete Johnson
Until Proven Guilty - Nigel Hinton

Newbie to the group so first comment. I've just finished reading Malicious Intent - Kathryn Fox. Would be interested to read other opinions of this book, I was incredibly disappointed. Blurb on the book cover from James Patterson promised a character that readers of Cornwell would adore...I don't think so matey, were we reading the same book?

Now I am reading The Chain - Keith Gray.

I'm reading Pillars but slowed down at the moment by headache and having zero sleep."
Fi, I am away at the moment from hubby and kids. So I get peace and quiet to read lol.
I am also listening to audios with my friend who wants to listen as well. She works 2 days a week and we eat while we read or listen to audios lol.

I haven't read it but I have read sole of the Alfred Kropp series, another series by Yancey. I've really enjoyed it.

My sister mentioned the book festival in Cincinnati to me, but I can't attend this year (maybe next year). I grew up near Cincinnati, but I now live about 3 1/2 hours away. Have a great time Dorie. I'd love to hear about what authors were there.
