Malfoy?"
why?????????"
I don't know.
She's calling me a coward.
"Aw."
"Isn't he cute?"

Because you're like a cowardly snake that slips away instead of standing up for what you believe in. You put in random comments but purposely never address the real concerns we're discussing.
It's rude, cowardly and a waste of everybody's time.

Seriously, other people on this thread are cool, even though I don't agree with them. Natalie knows how to have discussions. You just don't care that there are real concerns about what you stand for. You just want to whine and rant.
Gay, straight, christian, atheist... I don't care what you stand for you just better be able to defend it, not just blast off your mouth.

I'm Snape.

See. Exactly.
You think that's funny, but not once have you made a legitimate argument.
If that came from my side it would be called bullying, for the record. For your own sake, I hope you start thinking more deeply about your own beliefs in the future.

I'm fine right here.

You, my friend, are McGonagall.

Because I don't need to.
I know that one day, even if it is not in my lifetime, LGBT people will be accepted everywhere.
It's like racism.
So these arguments seem trivial compared to the fact we could be working to bring that acceptance closer to existence.

Will,
Here. Answer this one:
If love is just a random thing based on whatever makes you happy and can be "anything" you want, how is it serious or important?
(assuming you care enough about what you stand for, which you don't seem to. And this is why I don't respect your beliefs).

If love IS (which it isn't)"a random thing based on whatever makes you happy and can be "anything" you want," then it is important and serious because it is being prohibited.
Love should never be prohibited, restricted, limited.
It should be open, expanding.
But yet, we find new ways to shut it down.
Am I done?
Sorry I'm confused. I keep messing up which comments are from Will and Leah. I didn't say Leah had to defend anything, I was speaking to Will.

That was Will.
I am Will.

Love is
Not about our happiness: about our selflessness.
Otherwise, sorry. No, I don't respect it.

I wasn't saying love can be anything.
I was asking that because that's what the others on this thread were saying.
My point is that love ISN'T anything we "feel" like that "makes us happy." We agree.

I think you hit the nail on the head, in a way.
It's about selflessness AND happiness. Not one or the other.
Gay relationships take out the only selfless part of romantic love, that's why it's not the same.
The point isn't just "to have kids" but be miserable either.
It's about being open to selflessness and happiness whether they come or not. Not eliminating one or both possibilities.

They rise from ashes.

LGBT must rise from the ashes of hate.
And fly away.

Exactly.
Lots of relationships (including lots of straight relationships) try to make it only about happiness. And it's never more right no matter who does it.

Hate? You're still repeating that?
Your definitions really are backwards.

Do you believe there is not a single person out of seven billion people on this green earth who do not hate LGBT?
(According to Will's side):
Hate: wanting what's best for someone (or just wanting answers in this case).
Love: a random feeling without a solid definition.
Am I the only one who thinks this makes no sense????
Hate: wanting what's best for someone (or just wanting answers in this case).
Love: a random feeling without a solid definition.

All I know is that 90% of the people accused of "hate" are just people like me who want answers.

And yes, there are people in this big world that hate LGBT people. Catholics too. And muslims. And anything. But I don't really see the point in exaggerating or pointing fingers just to prove a point.

Not to call you names about the hypocrite thing, but you're like the classic person here who only fires shots and purposely misses points.
Will,

Now, back to the matter at hand.
MY. QUESTION.
IS THERE NOT ONE PERSON ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH THAT DOES HATES LGBT?

People make fun of Catholics all the time and I don't use it as an excuse that I'm right about everything either. And I don't call them "hateful" because I know they're just being stupid.
AND hating the "sin" (whether you agree it's a sin or not, don't blow up) is not the same as hating the person.
AND hating the "sin" (whether you agree it's a sin or not, don't blow up) is not the same as hating the person.
How do they hate them? You mean because they disagree with them or do they literally treat them badly because of it?

Sorry, I think this is just getting too confusing for everyone. Nobody is responding to the right things and it doesn't make sense to me either.

Anyway, I see lots of people getting accused of "hate" when they just disagree.
Hate is a really serious thing that means you wish someone ill.
They just want what's best for them, even if you think they are misguided. that's not hate by any means.
And if people do treat someone badly for being gay, I agree that's stupid. But it doesn't make anybody more or less right for what choices they make. So what's the point of bringing it up constantly?
(to distract, and use as propaganda).

I shall give you the answers. Okay, so your main question appears to be why anyone would enter a romantic relationship if they weren't doing it for a selfless reason (correct me if I'm wrong). But selfless does not always equate to children. Selfless is, by definition, to be more concerned with others than with yourselves. Selfless does not always mean children, although having children is one of the most selfless acts out there. Selfless doesn't have to be due to romantic love, either. Selfless is not the definition of love.
So what is the definition of love? It's different for every person. Love is not a concrete thing that can be seen, touched, and easily defined. It is an abstract concept, and abstract concepts should not be controlled by anyone but the person it really belongs to. Love belongs to all of us individually, and no one can define another's love. Love just... is. It's uncontrollable, and it isn't going to stop because of gender. Some people are straight, some are gay, some are lesbian, some are bisexual, some are asexual, some are pansexual, some are transsexual, some are transgender, some are no gender, ect. We're all human, and we all feel love in different ways.
