I think its good RR made him gay because we know him and know he is still the same person. Because this is aimed at younger kids i think it shows its okay to be gay and that your not different. I think its a really good message

The topic got discussed so much that sub topic pertaining to the main topic got introduced while "off" topic it was still dealing with the Nico and Rick R's world and books to hold you off till the next one... then Death came and totally hijacked the thread.

He's not gay.

He admired Percy. It's stupid of Rick Riordan to be encouraging kids to turn everything romantic. As if it's just a magical feeling and that's it.

It's an over-value of romance the same way as when he had to pair up every one of his main characters.

What you have to remember is that she was raised a sheltered life, wasn't allowed/didn't want to interact with others her age except her brothers... that makes one very "weird" and gives a false sense of superior intellegence over others.... And yet, teens obsess about the books. Everybody, young or old, loves the series, and homosexuality can be discovered at any age. Kids know about love at a VERY young age, so why not know about homosexuality? I see a lot of people are using this as an excuse to "vent" both pro and against sides are doing it.

The against is saying why they dislike it or w/e and the pro is calling out those who are against it....... Its amazing with all the other real life issues going on people are coming here to bash each other.

Before someone looking to nitpick my comment and use "but gays are a real life issue" don't.

There is someone being trafficked right now so they can be forced to work on fields... or beds, when the ones who are loudly crying out foul, haven't actually experienced being physically harmed or tortured for their choice (US,etc), they should stop behaving like they were and making this out to be the most important thing in the world.

There is still racism, cast system, trafficking, 9 Year Old girls being married off to 40 something year old men, 9 Year Old girls being sold so the family can eat, rape, murder, etc, etc.

I understand people want to be treated equally but they are going about it the wrong way, find better ways of doing it. The tactics I'm seeing gay right groups employing are appalling "if you don't agree with us you are a homophobe". Also things like (view spoiler)[ comparing gay bashing to black racism is stupid.

I don't hear about gay men being strung up in the street with crowds of on lookers while they hanged from their necks and are set ablaze.

Even if lynchings have stopped there is still racism, it's just buried. Is that what gay people want? A false sense of security? A facade? (hide spoiler)]

Again talking isn't going to change anything, people will still be aggressive towards each other. Even if America were to change it, what of the rest of the world? You think they will follow it? The world =/= America. Even if other countries tries to emulate America, their don't have the resources that America has to keep Law and Order. How will they enforce it?
