Did you read the Son of Sobek? If you did, you can see how he combined it. I don't think it was fully explained because it was just a short story. Percy and Carter just fought a monster together with their own mythological skills.

The movies were good but not as good as the books. I still think that, for a book-movie adaptation, it was done well. Not like some other book-movie adaptations that I've seen cough*PercyJacksonMovies*cough

your opinion maybe because i don't have nostasia why with artemis i do but in my head artemis will always be better than harry potter i still think its good but I found jk rollings writting more stale

most of the movies i agree but the order of the phinox movie in my opinion was a let down and the last movie i hated the battle with belitics was horrible and i hated how it seemed to be one battle between harry and voldy with little else( nevile was by far the worst in the book he was a proud warrior why in the movie he seemed still the weak wimp he was in the begining ( also no PEVIES)

Yea that was after WOK and before steelheart... or before WOK...too lazy to go look
The last movie didn't fulfill my expectations. True, it was kind of a let down. I didn't like it as much as I liked the first four movies.

i hated the last movie it was just an action movie

what did you think of peevies and which is your faviourte book mine order of the phinox

I have!"
Great! what did you think of the last book
You can't make me pick a favorite, that's too harsh. I'll give you my top three: Order of the Phoenix, Goblet of Fire, Half Blood Prince. And by "peevies" do you mean Peeves the Poltergeist? I think he's hilarious. A comedic relief. I love it when, during the Order of the Phoenix, Fred and George created chaos because they hated Umbridge and then they were about to leave on their brooms and then Fred told Peeves "Give her hell from me" and then Peeves saluted and wreaked havoc. I was laughing so hard xD
Also I think the worst movie adaptation of all times is, of course, the Last Airbender. I'm pretty sure that goes without saying. My eyes and ears were bleeding from watching and hearing the movie. I think I was bleeding internally. I'm surprised I survived through it.
Nope, I have not read the Rangers Apprentice. Is it good?

one is a series of unfortunate events this was the first true novel series that I read and cemented my love for books it may be not as good as harry potter but i remeber this more fondly
another is of course the percy jackson books I loved it and it made love history which i am now studing
and last is artemis fowl I this made me care more for the enviroment and love plots what series influence you the most?

You are right that it wasn't integrated properly, but i also think it was last minute. If it wasn't, Rick would have spent time to make the chapter/section/scene fit in with the rest of the book.
I've read many books and a lot of them have gay characters in it, but they integrated so well you don't even notice(and it isn't some vague reference they say they are gay)... if it wasn't "last minute" then Rick either tried for maximum shock effect with his writing or his writing was too simplistic for him to meld the story better.

I have!"

I really liked it! Although a certain major character died, I felt it was necessary to progress the plot. John Flanagan is probably my favorite author after Rick Riordan.

It's good; although it's more of a boys series, I've seen love of it go across all boundaries.
Speaking of boundaries, in an admittedly futile attempt to get this thread back on track, I am glad I don't eat or drink while reading, because I would have either choked or done a spit-take at the Nico revelation

the rangers apprentice is in my opinion beter than percy jackson this high praise indeed

i have read lots of books but i see your point in my opinion i think he was deciding weather or not to put it in but finnally decided so why ithink it is a good idea it seems last minute

I, personally, agree with this statement. Ranger's Apprentice is better.
(Moment of Silence)
When do we eat?
The series that influenced me the most was Harry Potter. I read it when I was so young and it made me realize many things. Also, the Percy Jackson series influenced me because I first read it as a class book with my class and I had so many memories with them as we read the book. It was the first time they made me feel like I belong with them.
Wow the Rangers Apprentice must be good. I'll read it. I don't care if it's a boy series because I love books for boys. They usually have more action and violence and I love action and violence. Boy series also have less romance in them, and the less romance the better.

see i read harry potter after percy jackson so maybe nostagia

(Moment of Silence)
When do we eat?"
Ahahahahahah!
I don't get the joke but... Hahahahahaa

It is. You should read it. It has romance, but in such a non-romantic way, that it makes the series much better. Also, the characters personalities are awesome.

In my opinion it is the best series I have read with Artemis fowl although heros of Olympus is getting close (I prefer the new series than the original)
Ps plenty of ships to sail control by the way

I thought the whole reason you are waiting to read Lies of Locke Lamora is because it's too "violent" and filled with "action".

... You do know that Aussieland is 12 hours ahead of the world, its 11:22pm here, I'm sure it's 11:22am there.
No I don't want to read it because you said it was gruesome... I mean there's a boundary between gruesome and violent to me. Violence is just weapons and fighting and injuries but gruesome is gross things that go past violence

enjoy...
Exactly H99, thanks for that comparison :D See, Kevin, I like violence but I'm not a fan of gruesome scenes.. So if the book you want me to read, the Lies of Locke Lamora I believe it was called, is gruesome then I won't read it, sorry. However, I don't mind me some violence!

The book would be like a battlefield or how they world would be if there weren't really rules, the powerful taking what they want and pooping on the guy underneath them... and seeing how people are sick, sick beings... some would probably get enjoyment from the strife and pain of others.

Yea that was after WOK and before steelheart... or before WOK...too lazy to go look"
Before Steelheart, I think."
It was released before Steelheart but i was talking about how I read it, what position.
"...the powerful taking what they want and pooping on the guy underneath them..."
Well thanks Kevin for that HORRIBLE mental image. Thanks a lot.
Anyways, it seems interesting but is it too gruesome? I get grossed out by scenes that are WAY too explicit. Kinda scars me...

I did not enjoy sorry... she behaved too fangirlish

Inside joke; you have to read Ranger's Apprentice to get it.

Actually it was Cherie that suggested you that book and you said you would read it... I am the one that said your shouldn't even touch it.
Oh, well then. Y'know, I don't have great memory so... I confuse things sometimes..

It's 15 past 3
Oh wow Matthew, so I have to read Rangers Apprentice, go back to this thread, read the message and then laugh. Well, if that's what it takes then I'll do it.
I have this whole week off but even if I did have school I usually sleep around that time ^^ Its bad because I should sleep early but hey, I can't help it if my brain doesn't want me to sleep.
But I'm going to sleep now so good night :D
