Um Japan..? That would be awesome because I like anime and such. Okay my guesses are Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and both Korea's. Tell me if one of them are in there or if none of them are in there xD

message 1405: by [deleted user] (new)

Whoops totally forgot about that xD They have some kinda communist government right? Okay um so second guesses: Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, and ohhh! Philippines?? I think it's that. If you're from the Middle East then I gotta make a whole new list lol xD

message 1406: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry for being irritating T^T Okay I'll still be guessing though. You said you're not Middle Eastern nor Muslim so that narrows it down. Okay here we go: Armenia, Bangladesh, Kakhstan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, East Timor, Georgia, Israel, Maldives, Bhutan, Krygyzstan, India, Brunei, Burma, Tajikistan, Turkey, Cyprus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

A 16 year old could be in this thread with kids... just think on that and no I am not 30.

Kevin H99 wrote: "Why is it that when people think of Asia, they think of China, Japan and Korea?..."

Because when people hear "Asian" they think "oriental Asian"(China, Japan, Korea etc etc)

You have to remember when Rick started these books, I read Percy in my teens YEARS before they wanted to fill the Harry Potter movie Void with something and chose Lighting Thief.

I just like to finish what I started... that is why I continue to read to this day even though the story is getting predictable and kind of boring, its "black and white morals" are meh. I read a lot more "adult" themed books where there is no right and wrong but compromise.(view spoiler)

I'm so glad I wasn't born in America, the parents over there let their kids do what they want and when something happens they blame the teachers, of course the teachers can't discipline the students because schools are not a learning institution over there its a business where its the principle's job to suck up to parents.

I didn't get any bullying over here(much) but that probably has to do with the teachers actually be able to do their jobs and parents not coming in to do shit because "my child told me this and its totally true and not him lying to evade punishment or anything"... I also finished high school at 16(regular age to finish over here), waiting till 18 was just America's way to make the kids responsible for themselves as soon as they finished school so their actions will be their own.

You can get legal work at 16 over here....its funny how some American kids cuss and treat their parents like crap try to blackmail them with "likes" and "emotions" to buy them apple products... then they grow up and become parents themselves and see what they did to their parents visited upon them probably 5 folds or 10 because "morals" are getting loose over there.

I am not gonna cry about religion or anything, but it was religion that taught us stealing was wrong.... kids steal from their parents over there all the time(and everywhere else)... if you get rid of the system that teaches "morals"(atheism) you need something to replace it.

Not saying all atheist are thieving, murdering scum but some(if not most) of them feel because there is no big man in the sky why should they follow anything that was "reportedly said" by him?

message 1411: by Cherie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cherie @kevin... Definitely agree on that. I worked as a tutor for first grade kids for 2 years (I still occasionally volunteer in my spare time) I can't tell you how many parents come in complaining when we discipline their children. It's outrageous... Then the children feel that they can do whatever they want and not get in trouble. Furthermore, We have students who put absolutely no effort into their work and the parents blame the teachers for not working hard enough with their kid. Then when It comes time to turn in their homework it is incomplete and contains many mistakes. The parents have to sign off that they helped them with it and they'll just sign anyways even if it's not even done or done right.

Also, I don't want to debate religion on here... But I will mention that thievery was considered a crime long before it was written down in holy texts not to do it.

message 1412: by Cherie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cherie And Kevin... I feel compelled to respond to this because it is such a big misunderstanding amongst the religious... In response to you saying that some atheists believe that they can get away with things because there is no big man in the sky to regulate it: every atheist I know would laugh at you. (And I know at least 100 atheists as I belong to a local group) when we hear that we think that religious people are saying that the only thing that stands between them and murder, rape, thievery, etc. us the belief that thy will be punished for it in the afterlife. We believe in doing good things because it is the right thing to do, not because we were commanded to and not because we expect rewards or are trying to avoid punishment. Morals come from empathy and understanding that your actions effect others. That is why we don't need a book or a god to tell us not to steal, murder, etc...

Kevin Cherie wrote: "Also, I don't want to debate religion on here... But I will mention that thievery was considered a crime long before it was written down in holy texts not to do it. ..."

Yes but religion was a way to help curb it(at least a little), I mean with laws nowadays that probably helps but its not putting morals in people(taking other ppl stuff is wrong) its more the lines of "if I take this guy stuff and get caught I will be in deep shit".

I believe that in faith that everything is connected you know, my actions affect something in this world(which is true, you interact with people they will leave a mark on you, they will have affected you some way, this in turn will influence your thoughts to a certain degree then you go to someone else... and it goes on and on), I don't believe in the "church" though some churches do their jobs and try to help mankind but(view spoiler) that is where I have a dislike for humanity but there is something bigger than us our "God" might just be an advance alien species who modified our dna to make workers.

message 1414: by Cherie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cherie @kevin quite frankly I dot see any evidence to convince me that religion helps deter crime...

Compare the list of Global Peace Index: http://www.visionofhumanity.org/pdf/g...
And the list of countries with a majority of Atheist from the religious site Adherents.com in this page: http://www.adherents.com/largecom/com... the trend is easy to spot. Most of the countries listed amongst te most peaceful are also amongst the least religious.

Furthermore looking at prison populations in America definitely reflect the same thing.. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendly...

So if what you are saying is true.. Where is the evidence that religion deters crime? 'Cause I sure as hell am not seeing it...

message 1415: by Cherie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cherie And that's not to mention that the most religious countries in the world also tend to be some of the most violent and least educated...

Again I really don't want to argue about religion. I just felt compelled to argue this point as you seem to be seriously mislead on the morals of the nonreligious population...

message 1416: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't want to start religious debates and stuff but you say that you need a religion to have morals so I'm going to tell you the same thing I told my class when this issue was brought up. No you don't need a religion. So you're saying that you don't steal because your afraid of what some big guy is going to do if you steal? So if there was nothing to be afraid of, in your case, would you do the things that you don't do? Atheists don't do wrong things because we don't want to do wrong things. Not because someone is telling us that if we do, we're going to get into some kind of trouble or something. Doesn't your religion teach that violence is wrong and to respect other people? So why is it that I get hurt for being an atheist? They have morals and they go against it. Atheists find their own morals and live by it. We have morals without having a religion. We don't need some big powerful guy to tell us not to do these things because we already know. I give myself my own morals. I know what is right from wrong. I don't need a religion to tell me what to do. I tell myself that stealing is a no-no. Did I need a religion to tell me this? Do I need a religion to give me morals when I can make my own that are respectable and right? Atheists can have morals without having a religion. I know I said a bit too much but I really felt the need to say this. I also probably went off-topic in some parts but this goes out generally to people who believe you need a religion to have morals.

How old are you again? and you should know that making a statement against something should at least have some pros not just cons. I'm actually not from here and I agree on some things like what you said about too much freedom or something like that because where I'm from, respect is mandatory, never an option. But the U.S isn't all that bad. At least there are opportunities for people.

Blogger Girl well I was skeptical on the Philippines part since it's in the middle of the pacific ocean.........something like that

message 1422: by [deleted user] (new)

Of course you did...

message 1423: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh lol I see what you mean xD But it's in Asia :)

message 1424: by Blogger (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl I always get distracted on here since I'm usually (suppose to be) doing homework. So @h99, now can you tell us?

message 1425: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah we do forget the most basic stuff. Heck, I even forgot that North Korea was a communist country xD (H99 will tell you everything).

message 1426: by Blogger (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl North Korea is truly messed up. we watched a documentary (a secret one) last year and the way the people were treated was just...horrible.

message 1427: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah H99, I took my Global textbook, went to the back, and took time to actually write down every country in Asia. You HAVE to tell us. I didn't do that for nothing xD

message 1428: by Blogger (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl yes. I'm doing that right now :)

message 1429: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm a naturally curious person. I REALLY want to know, I'm getting into my super-curious mode. It's activated. And once it's activated it cannot be deactivated unless you tell me. So please, I beg of you, tell me. And I don't know why I didn't do that. Probably, because I like textbooks rather than the internet for information.

message 1430: by Blogger (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl EXCEPT I NEED A NAME OF COURSE

message 1431: by [deleted user] (new)

I just like books in general for everything. The internet can be inaccurate and unreliable *cough*wikipedia*cough*

message 1432: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah books can be wrong too, you're totally right, but I just trust them because I just love books. So I choose books over anything x)

message 1433: by [deleted user] (new)

AND YOU KEEP EVADING THE REAL QUESTION HERE. Where are you from?:( Stop teasing my curiosity like that Dx

message 1434: by Blogger (last edited Dec 19, 2013 04:38PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl I once
used Wikipedia as my source in 7th grade. I guess that's why I got a C on it

message 1435: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah teachers really hate Wikipedia because anyone can go on it and edit things which makes it totally unreliable. I hate it too, although I love the format.

message 1436: by [deleted user] (new)

Hoooooooooo myyyyyyyy goooooossshhhhh xD
Okay let's be specific. What country are you from?

message 1437: by Blogger (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl Laos?

message 1438: by [deleted user] (new)

I just love the way you find ways to evade the real question here. I know your technique. You wait for Yubrine and I to find another mini topic like books vs internet and Wikipedia. Then you'll respond to that. When we get to the topic of where you're from you won't post anything or you'll change it up like asking is Laos a country south of China or saying it's not Laos. You sly little person, you.

message 1439: by [deleted user] (new)

I already gave you a review of Seraphina in a previous post xD Now you find it. It's pay back for teasing my curiosity >:D

message 1440: by [deleted user] (new)

India? Wow that's awesome :D India is so fascinating :)

message 1441: by Blogger (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl By the way, I'm pretty sure I included India in my guesses. which you ignored -_-

message 1442: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep now you gotta go back and find it ! Muahhahaha, I feel so evil.

message 1443: by [deleted user] (new)

Me too I included India..

message 1445: by Blogger (new) - rated it 5 stars

Blogger Girl sorry that was random

message 1446: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh but I do remember telling you how I felt about the book...
Okay I'll just tell you: the book was kinda complicated because it was old timey and I don't like old timey stuff. The vocabulary was a bit difficult on me and there were times when I didn't understand what the heck was going on and had to keep rereading it to know what was happening. However, I will continue reading the next book. It's called shadow something, I forgot. I have to say, though, that I absolutely LOVE Orma <3 He was amazing. Seraphina and Lucian should just go out already, Glisselda is in the WAY :):):):):):) Yeah Glisselda was annoying.. I have a soft spot for that book though because of the main characters name :D

Blogger Girl ooooohhhhhhhhhh do you put on one of those black dots on your forehead? I love those and I put one on me one time. is it some sort of special ritual like a quincenera or is it only for non married people????

message 1448: by [deleted user] (new)

I think it's for married women and it's called a mindi. Isn't it to show people that you're married or something. I think. Okay I should not say anything that I don't know fully about. If I'm wrong please correct me (and don't get mad Dx)
