Haha :p things have gone haywire. How about we discuss our predictions for the next book? My main prediction is that I really think Nico is gonna get his own POV, do you think Reyna might? Since they are traveling together, It could be like how the POV's worked in HoH... Like alternating POV's in every other POV change..
Yeah I think Nico will get his own POV too. Rick has to show us what will happen on Nico's journey. I hope we get to meet the old characters like Grover and Clarisse. I especially miss Travis and Connor. I just really want for Percy to find out how Nico feels about him. It might not happen but I really REALLY hope so.
Me too... I'm sure we'll get insight into how nico feels, which I'm super excited about, and I'm really hoping that nico addresses his feelings with Percy. Percy is such an awesome guy that he'll be really supportive ^_^ I'm also really looking forward to seeing how nico and Reyna interact... Could be interesting.
Yeah Percy will definitely be supportive. I'm also kind of curious on how Nico and Reyna interact with each other. I feel like Reyna is going to guess how Nico feels about Percy. I don't know why but I just feel it. THAT could be interesting.

Wait guys you totally forgot something. In the midst of the whole Nico craze, we forgot about Caleo! I want to see Leo meeting Calypso again. I want their reunion! :D

Yep that Percabeth reunion satisfied me completely. I really can't wait for everything that'll happen!! I can already imagine the Caleo reunion... I just can't contain my excitement!! D:

We definitely need an epilogue. I know some people don't like epilogues but Rick just can't end a whole series without an epilogue. We read the PJO series AND the HoO series. There better be an epilogue.

and please, wise one, is there a better idea? you act like you know the answer to this but i'm pretty sure you do not. i don't even know what side you're on which just confuses more. clearly everyone can't support homosexuality but if there are enough people that accept that, then who cares about the other bigots? i sure as hell don't. maybe you should be a little optimistic and less pessimistic. My whole family has really enjoyed Percy Jackson books ever since they came out. However what is this about Nico being gay? The gay/lesbian topic has, for a long time been an extremely contreversial subject, and the fact that Mr. Riordan has put it towards the end of a book series written for a younger audience seems like a calculated move to me. This topic with younger children should first be discussed with parents before they start reading about it in books. Whether you personally think it should be taught early on or not, parenting is up to the parents. My family really enjoyed this book because of the lack of really adult material, while still being an amazing read with educational value. If this book was written for young adults specifically I could better understand why this content would be put in the book.
Yes I think I mentioned earlier that I always saw the HoO series as a YA series because the characters are not really children anymore. It doesn't seem like a children's book to me. There's a lot of stuff in the book that is considered mature like violence and how Rick mentions incest and beastality. I never considered this series a children's series. Yes, the PJO series was children's book but the HoO series matured a lot.

I don't really care about Nico being gay, but I do think it was kind of out of the blue. He had this big, dark secret that he wanted to keep from everyone, and it was that he has a crush on Percy. I mean, I don't care about his sexual orientation, it was just kind of random.
But now we know why he is always so gloomy and moody. I always thought there was something else but I never expected him to be gay. It was not random just shocking.
This equality business is bs. There will never be equality, people need to get used to that fact and live life the best they can.
I totally agree with you, H99. There may never be 100% equality but why can't we try to come as close to it as we can?
Yep I actually read that this summer BECAUSE the main character has my middle name xD I can never find characters with any of my names because my parents decided to name me such a rare name so I was really happy when I saw the title and I immediately bought it. If you ever find any characters with the names Avalon Seraphina-Chrysanthemum Eliora Levina Tessalie Evergreen (which I doubt you will but whatever), please tell me xD
Also, I really liked the book except for the fact that sometimes I didn't really understand what was going on and the language was a bit confusing. Other than that, it was a nice book :)

It was HUGE shock. At first i was like, "what just happened?" But then i was like OMG. It's actually one of the best plot twists i've ever read. But....is it an actual crush crush, like he wants to be boyfriend and boyfriend? Or is it more like he's my superhero and i idolize him? i just want Percy to find out because i want to see his reaction. i'll feel real bad for Nico if somehow he has to admit it in front of EVERYbody. he's still such a little boy to me. at first i thought he was so moody because he doesn't like being around people and that he still has a small grudge about Percy not protecting his sister. but then i remembered that he sort of got over that in the Percy Jackson series. but then i guessed the grudge was back, but that wouldn't make any sense so i believed it was just because he was stuck in Tarturas at first, but...NOW HE'S GAY.
anyways, i feel that this made the series even more interesting. Nico is my fave character, right after Percy. idk what Percy would say if he found out how Nico felt about him. i mean, what would you say if someone said that to you? but i know for sure he's not giving up Annabeth.

I felt exactly the way you did, Eboney. I kept wondering why his mood was back but then he's gay. It was really surprising, I know. And even though I'll feel bad if he has to admit it in front if everybody in BoO, I kind of want him to because if he does that, it'll show that he's actually accepted by everyone and he shouldn't isolate himself (because I KNOW that everyone else is going to accept him).
