I don't think anyone needs to find out. I mean, does every gay individual tell the world their orientation? If it doesn't come up, it doesn't come up. Matters of the heart are private. They're not meant to be shared with everyone.
Personally, I just want Nico to not end up with someone. It would just be too convenient. Everyone has to be a pair? Really? Because endings are only happy if you finish in a relationship? >:/ I'll be happy as long as Nico opens up to connecting with others by the end of the next book. That alone would be enough for me to be happy.

But Catherine, how is Nico going to move on if
Percy doesn't find out?
Percy doesn't find out?

Does he need Percy's permission to move on? Are you saying you've never gotten over a crush without the other person knowing about it? I'm asking, because I know I have. A person is completely capable of resolving their feelings for someone or something 100% internally.
Yeah I have never gotten over a crush without telling the other person because once I tell them then I feel like I can move on because they obviously didn't like me. I get my hopes up but once I get rejected then I know I can't linger on these feelings and I REALLY start to move on. I think Nico knows it's impossible for Percy to return his feelings but he still can't shake them off. But if he confesses, and Percy rejects him, then he officially knows it's impossible and it'll be a start for Nico to finally move on. Well, that's what I think and that's why I want Percy to find out. It doesn't have to happen but maybe Nico will really get a move on once he confesses. Percy will help him move on.

Percy is mad in love with Annabeth, and Nico knows that. He already knows nothing is going to happen between himself and Percy. You can't think of Nico's actions in terms of what you would do. You have to think in terms of what Nico would do.

I agree. I always thought that Nico, even when he was mad at Percy, kind of viewed him as an older brother. That scene where they are at Percy's house and they actually talk was always a scene that I really liked for some reason. I always thought that Nico was always so upset with Percy was because he had looked up to Percy so much, and Percy had failed him, kind of like an understated version of the Incredibles, with Syndrome and Mr. Incredible. And what really irritates me is that Jason tells Nico he can't help what he is. Every single Percy Jackson book is about kids who beat the odds and choose their own paths, no matter what gets handed to him. I was just really surprised that books that have emphasized free will so much just kind of skate around that when it comes to Nico's sexual orientation. Yes, people are gay. I don't think it's right, but it will not prevent me from reading the rest of the series. What bothers me is that Rick Riordan has effectively ruined the tense brotherly relationship between Nico and Percy, and then makes it out to be that Nico is an absolutely helpless character with no choices in life. That's not the Nico we've come to know, and sadly, he somehow loses the strength and mystique of his character because of it.

Well said!
I think too many people forget where Percy started. He started as a story for Rick's son to feel less awful about being ADHD and Dyslexic. To teach him that even when things in life suck, it won't stop you from being great.

I know right? Why Nico?

Now that Leo has found Calypso, my adorable ship for Nico x Leo is over T^T
It's alright (kinda) cause I think Leo x Calypso is cute but Nico x Leo would've been waaaaay cuter.

I think Nico will probably stay single and that's all right with me. Pairing everyone off would be a bit too cliché. I just want him to be happy with himself by the end.
Yeah but just imagine Nico x Leo! Keep imagining. Go on. Don't stop, just keep imagining. Now think. THINK!! Isn't it absotively, posilutely adorable?? I like Caleo but I can't stop loving Nico x Leo. My heart goes many ways :(

Percabeth is my OTP. I've shipped them ever since Percy said she had curly blond hair like a princess (something like that). I can basically ship Nico with anyone cause I love him so much I want him to be shared. I've shipped him with Leo, Percy, Annabeth, Reyna, Piper, Octavion (weird right?), Rachel, Travis and Connor, and Jason. He's compatible with everyone, to me.
I know right? Percico is cute. You should try checking out Percico headcanons, they're cute too !

You are SO right, and I'm already than you so it feels even more pervy. :P
The person I most want to be in this entire series is Annabeth, because then I'd get to be genius, badass, AND dating Percy. ;)
Percy & Annabeth FOREVER! :3
I love Nico, but I'll never give my vote to him being with Percy, and I want him to love himself first before I start being worried about who else he's going to love.

Lol wow you guys have to imagine them older xDD I just imagine them the way they are (I'm just 14). I think that's Nico's age (correct me if I'm wrong) and it's just one year younger than Leo :D
NO! Percico is adorable but Percabeth is my OTP !

So yeah! I think Rick did a brave thing and I just hope most people see it as a good thing!

..."
I didn't mean that he should write more any time soon. Just that if you give a book a final epilogue set in the future, it means you can never go back to them, not without it being weird.
Well we already know that Rick is not going to continue the series, he wants to try new myths. He said if he kept going back to Greek, then he could never get to other myths. So if he's gonna end Greek mythology, at least give us a nice long epilogue !!

excuse me I'm done with saying "I respect your opinion" to people when their opinion is that I am a second class citizen because of my sexual orientation.

she/he is probably a grown up by the way he/she spoke

how is that the truth rick didn't have to make him gay now nobody would want to be nico in the movie

you aren't going to explain to a little girl about gay people and that's not what God intended for us
