So yes, according to it's definition being against homosexuality is being a homophobe.

So again, I love Nico, and not as a fairweather fan.
Here's the thing: At the end of the day, you guys against homosexuality can complain all you want about the contents of this book, because I'd rather read (and let kids read) stories with homosexual love rather than read some of the rampant hatred and disgust from those heterosexuals here claiming to know right from wrong.

What's the freaking difference between a boy
saying he has a crush on another boy and a girl having a crush on a boy? ITS THE SAME! Just different genders!! It's not wrong. Love is love no matter what. So what if he's five? Your point? It doesn't matter if he is young. If he finds that that is who he is at an early age, then the better instead of having confusing and conflicting feelings in the future. Suck it up. He's gay. You don't like it? Don't read the books.

Yes, a five year old talking about gayness is perfectly normal. THAT is what our world is coming to and I like it.
Your seriously going to ask "how so?" Have you read the god damn comments against homophobic people?? If you're going to ask "how so?" then I suggest you read again -_-

It is more likely for homosexuals to have STDS or other sexually transmitted diseases because the risk of pregnancy is out of the picture.

I know that. Still don't see how what you said makes sense.

No. God help you, to deal with your need to force your beliefs on others. "Love thy neighbors." It's not caveat-ed with "as long as they're just like you". Maybe you should ask God to help you understand that lesson as well.
I mean, Nico is a fictional character, and you still feel the need to just hammer and hammer and hammer about how wrong he is? I'd hate to think how you treat people in the real world.

Yes, and heterosexual couples breed 100% of homosexual individuals and unwanted children. What's your point? You really have to stop acting like homosexuality is the source of all evil in the world.
...That's Gaea, right now. Seriously, why can't we just enjoy the book for being what it is? Why does it have to matter so much to you that a fictional male character had a crush on another fictional male character?
I'm asking in earnest right now. This book holds true to the system of Greek gods, where homosexuality was way okay. Are you trying to say that nobody's allowed to hold their own beliefs but you and yours? Why can't you just lose yourself in the world of the book and let what is be what is? You're not in your world. You're in theirs. Their morality system applies. Not yours.

It wasn't uncalled for. Rick Riordan has always written about children who struggle fitting in. ADHD, dyslexia, mixed race children, none of these issues are any different to him than homosexuality. All of these issues cause stress and hurt to children and all Rick is trying to do is show them they're not alone, and that they can be accepted by the ones who matter.
Do you think he cares about what the bigots think? No, because they're not the ones he's trying to send a message to, they're the ones he's trying to protect the other children from.
Influence has nothing to do with people being homosexual. The only thing acceptance has done is stopped people from hiding who they are, from trying to force themselves to be something they're not. There has always been homosexuality. Always. It's not something that's new or being taught or spreading. The only thing being taught now is to accept who you are, whether that's homosexual or heterosexual.

well thats awesome :) I totally agree with this! I read a verse the other day that said that "Evil has victory when good men (or woman) do nothing" and we are not doing nothing! so evil will not have victory until we let go :)

To be honest, I don't like the series's interpretation of Gaea. Gaea is mother Earth. THerefore, as long as Earth itself and all the things that live upon it is alike, Gaea should technically be awake and alive. If Gaea were to sleep, everything that happens on the surface should be frozen. Imagine if Demeter sleeps, than vegetation all around the world will die. Thus, why wouldn't the same principle apply to Gaea?
Just arguing for the sake of arguing.
Damn. Never thought of that. Now you're going to make me ponder this for the next few weeks >_<

Yea exactly :)
Guys, guys, guys. Why do you have to hate? Look at me. I have a bisexual Christian friend, a Muslim friend, a Chinese friend, and a Hindu friend with a disability. And I'm an atheist. There is so many combinations there. No hate at all! We accept each other.
i think its surprised me alot but i sort of saw it coming. I knew rick was going to troll and do soemthing like this is the book. I think that (in nico's defense) that everyone is a little gay inside. we all have those times where we just want to try something with the same sex. that deosnt mean we are gay. Nico may have had that feeling. I think he had a crush on percy but got over it. i think he still likes girls a lot more than guys.

That's a theory, but we haven't seen any signs of him liking girls at all, and we know he's had a crush on Percy for years - so it seems unlikely that this as just a 'faze'. But you never know.

No one is "HAMMERING" anything. It's ok for all of you to.say how great it is, but no ok for others to say it isn't? And again, verses taken out of context. I never said I "hated" homosexuals. I never said I "don't like" them either. I know people that are, and I'm still friends with them. Don't try to turn me and anyone who disagrees with the majority into the bad guy.
Lol yeah everyone is a tiny gay inside. I won't deny that I have thought of doing something to the same sex sometimes, though it doesn't mean I'm gay. And I don't think Nico it got over his crush on Percy. Remember how Jason was a bit skeptic about that? They also said he was watching Percy and annabeth in a weird sort of gaze which is most likely jealousy.
Avalon wrote: "lol yeah everyone is a tiny gay inside. I won't deny that I have thought of doing something to the same sex sometimes, though it doesn't mean I'm gay. And I don't think Nico it got over his crush o..."
ok yeah youir right but i think think that nico may not be entirely gay.

I'm PRETTY sure Nico is not entirely gay. Like
I said, I think it's just Percy. He blushes around other girls too so maybe he's bi. Like I keep saying, I think he's pan but, of course, no one wants to agree with me.

That would explain alot. i agree with you. he might be pan.

Well said!

No. Not everyone. I don't.

Just because someone is different from you doesn't mean you have to treat them badly.

Ker Malkin wrote: "I actually didn't know he's gay until I read his confession. But it all makes sense. The way he's acting and all. There's probably a hint in the Son of Neptune when amnesiac Percy met Nico. Idk. I ..."
Just because someone is different doesn't mean you treat them badly.

Ohhhhh missy you are MISSING OUT!!!!!!

Finally to all those who say they `saw it coming’; you guys are either geniuses or liars because these so called hints in the past books were no hints at all, once you read the book you were bound to feel that way. Which is why I am wondering exactly what has Riordan accomplished here.(I neither buy those “he’s just trying to make the world a better place” or “he’s a minion of the powerful gay lobby ‘arguments.)

So Gaea is only awake enough to keep the Earth at its current pleasantness? Well said!

Let's focus on the real issue here.
Who reads stories featuring the Greek Gods and then gets shocked when there are homosexual relationships? Isn't that, like, a GIVEN possibility?
I think if you know going in that the story features Greek mythology, and you choose to read it anyways, you forfeit all right to be shocked by many, many things that might come up.

thank you!! someone finally said something meaningful (sorry if i spelled that wrong)

Not to upset you or anything but you do know that there is no proof that god had any hand in writing the bible. And your being mean ( or jerk) calling out gay kids, they don't have a choice.People commit suicide because of people like you. Also if your burn your PJ books then I just might smite you.
Wow. People will actually burn the books. Seriously?
