You may not need to: new shelf is BINGO and also appropriately the BINGO shelf for team 9. They appear to be all caught up with the exception of Same But Different. I am going to finish my SBD book as planned but may wait to do the new shelf until I see if they are going to win or not.
I will keep updating our finished books until a winner is called. Just in case. I played in one round where the first team to hit bingo didn't win because they didn't' finish before another winning shelf was called. But if I remember right, they were multiple shelves behind.
I'll finish my Same But Different book as well, but it's more than likely they'll win as long as everyone reads the shelf. I'll wait also before picking a book for the BINGO shelf.
Boo. I have never won bingo. It has been fun ladies. Mary, thanks for talking me into my first Dresden file. Sarah, thanks for swooping in and catching us up. Cheryl, any other books like the Steele and something series (I forgot the name but you know the one)...send them my way! I can't wait until the next round.
Yes, I think our chances of winning are very low. But it's not all about winning, right? Thanks for being on the team and for keeping up to date with the reading. It has been fun!
I'm really glad I got to play with all of you, and I was able to read some great books along the way! I hope to play with you all again!
I had a great time. I think we did awesome considering we had to replace a player. Sarah did great catching us up. The ramdomizer just wasn't our friend this round.
Always glad to convert another reading to the Dresden Files. I got a guy at work hooked on them. We are both desperately waiting for Peace Talks.
If anyone has finished their same but different books, go ahead and review it here and I'll request our last stamp. I still need to post my review. I might even start a BINGO books since they haven't one yet, even though I'll be surprised if they don't.
Hi Mary. I posted my same but different on 11-8. I think Cheryl's is there too. thanks for doing all the captain work this round.
Shelf 17: Same but Different, Nuts by Alice Clayton
Pages: 309
Read: 11.16.15
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
I read Wallbanger by Alice Clayton quite awhile ago (perhaps 2013?), and I must have forgotten how funny she is and how fun her books are! I keep meaning to go back and finish that series, but Nuts really caught my eye (mostly the cover, what can I say?). It was cute in a way I wasn't expecting. I was invested in the characters pretty quickly, and I loved her writing! It was witty and refreshing. A light quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. There is a twisty surprise that I wasn't expecting, but it didn't make it cheesy and it didn't draw away from the plot. There were small instances where I felt the main character wasn't quite acting like I expected her to, and I feel like the climax (and reaction to the twisty surprise) wasn't as well done as I wanted. Overall though it's great if you're looking for a quick romance.
I'll post mine too and request that last stamp. I finished days ago but kind of went into game over mode. But as of this point, there is no official winner yet. So please keep checking in just in case. Although not sure we are even in the running with our card anyway.
Same But Different

I really liked this set up to a new series. I couldn't really remember the characters that were in previous books of hers. But I had no trouble following along. Love the concept of the town of Midnight. Looking forward to the rest of the series. I did not know who the killer was until the end which always makes a book better for me. Most of the time I see it coming a mile away but I missed the clues in this one.
CONGRATULATIONS, Baker's Dozen! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'same, but different'.

Mary, didn't think I would finish this book at first but then it grabbed me and I really liked it. I like how she left a little something at the end . Just enough to keep you interested. Very interesting and odd characters.
Shelf: BINGO
Book: Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh
Pages: 323
Read: 11.14.15
Rating: ★★★1/2
Review:
I did enjoy Archangel's Kiss though I did find it quite dark and brutal at times. I also found it difficult to relate to Raphael. I know that he is an Archangel and ancient, but he is so distant and lacking compassion. Apart from his hot looks, I can't see what the attraction is for Elena, though the tension between Elena and Raphael was sizzling hot!
I found the supporting characters intriguing and they definitely added more depth to the story especially Dmitri and Michaela.
I loved the world building and enjoyed learning about the different angel powers. Overall a great read though I definitely liked the first book better.
