Haha sometimes you have to switch things up so you can knock out more than one challenge at a time :)

Only giving four stars because of how long it took me to get into the book. But to be fair, once I got to a certain point I was hooked. Bones (as always) is so damn sexy I can barely stand it (one of my favorite UF heroes). This book had a couple of twists I didn't expect, (view spoiler) .
This seemed like a slightly weaker entry in the Night Huntress series. Not enough action maybe? Seemed like a lot of time was spent with Cat moping around or being locked up or protected. But we did get more Vlad. :-)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Loved this book - if you like the soap operas of the 80s (Dallas, Falcon Crest & Dynasty) then you will love this book...it has romance, intrigue, mystery, death & mayhem, skeletons in the closet all the makings of a really good Lifetime movie or a series on HBO.
Im hoping that I dont have to wait a year for the next book.
Finished my book for the Continuing Series shelf ~

I loved the romance between Ashwini & Jauvier...this is probably my favorite book in this series thus far that last couple of books just were ok to me but this one was so much better. It was sad but the love between Ash & Jauvier was so sweet, genuine...definitely enjoyed this one

I have to say it has been a long and bumpy road for me with this series. And to be honest, I'm not sure if I would have gotten this far is I wasn't doing a buddy read/challenges which out of commitment guilt forces me to read series I would otherwise quit.
This installment of the Jane Yellowrock series was a decent addition to an otherwise up and down series. This book was pack with action, story development especially around Jane and Leo's weird relationship, and finally (HOPEFULLY) some closure from the Rick romance situation. I have to say between Jane CONSTANTLY blaming herself for things that have nothing to do with her and waffling about Rick and generally being a very beaten down but also kick ass heroine this series had me in my feels about some stuff. Thankfully this installment puts a lot of that to rest (it lasted way too long). I also LOVE that (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

OMG!! Talk about Trouble with a capital T...Geez I dont know how Charley keeps getting into the scrapes she does...this book is just full of all kinds of life wrenching drama WOW so did not see some of this coming but then again some of it was like the proverbial the handwriting was on the wall...loved every minute of this book. I'm dying to get my hands on the next book - Hell Hounds - who would have thought...Yikes!!!

It's shelved by 50 people as Demons....did this help?

I'm having a slow time of it this week. I'll be done by Friday because my book can count toward two challenges I'm in. :)

Rose is just the best! I want to be her BFF!!! This was just a fabulous follow up to the first book in the series, I just love the different levels of vampires, and the different parts they play. I mean how cool is a water Arrow, the ability to communicate through peoples dreams, and how awkward would it be to be inside your BFFs mind when she's about to get super intimate with her boyfriend? I'm definitely continuing the series!

you won't be disappointed. I love the series

Review:
My first star rating for this series over 4.
This book has the level of storytelling, worldbuilding, characterization, and general ass kicking that this series needed about three books ago. This is the first book in the entire series that I couldn't wait to get back to when I wasn't reading. This is the first book in the series that I was thinking about plots and twists outside of actually reading the book. To be honest the only reason I've stuck with the series this long is because of a series buddy read. I can't say this book was so good it made up for the ridiculously drawn out love triangle and waffling of the previous books but it has some merit.
As usual Leo is up to his schemes and his and Jane's relationship is getting weird. Like he might be catching feelings for her. Jane and Bruiser FINALLY get at least a little resolution and she FINALLY let's go of some stuff but of course with Jane the ruiner happiness doesn't last long with that situation.
For Jane to be kickass, smart, strategic, etc. she has a way of annoying the living hell out of me but I still like her. She doesn't annoy me to the point that I would label her TSTL so there is that. There is so much potential for this series but for some reason it keeps missing the mark... I don't know what it is...I do believe things are improving but dang it's a slow build!
This book featured cool mythology, some growth of Jane's and Beast's abilities, and more vampire politics. The storyline felt much more original than prior storylines which felt like they were being recycled every two or three books.
I think next month is the last month for the series BR as we'll be caught up with the published works of this series. At that point I think Jane and I will need a nice break. :)

Review:
Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark was the one of the first PNR series I read and I have to say it keeps getting better with age. I've loved this series from the beginning and this installment proves that my loyalty is not misguided.
In this book we have Melanthe and Thronos, two star crossed lovers who have known they were mated for the better part of 500 years but had a lot of shit to work out before they could be together.
The good:
I loved Melanthe. Kresley Cole wrote WONDERFUL dialogue for her. Her little sarcastic quips, funny one-liners, and general strength under fire really made me love her character.
I also love that Kresley Cole isn't afraid to write a (view spoiler) hero. We've encountered a couple of them in this series now. I also love that Melanthe wasn't ashamed of her past and owned it even if that meant she was suped by a man or 10 and had powers stolen. She still ended up being an awesome person.
I liked Thronos too even though I've been girlcrushing on Melanthe for this review so far. He was strong, brave, even through his debilitating injuries, he was still kick ass. I also appreciate that(view spoiler) .
The Bad and Ugly:
The last few books in the series has been fated mates who start off hating each other for various reasons. I would like to see a different reason for a couple coming together or I would like to see fated mates who don't hate each other working together to push the story along. I would also like to see people of color in this series. Because so far I've not seen any characters in all 14 or 15 books that didn't have European ancestry (Even the demon characters from a different plane still come off as being eurocentric). So I would challenge Kresley Cole to diversify.
I'm definitely here for the next installment!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Let me just say I know that there are those of you liking this series but I just cant seem to like it...some books I like better than others & that makes it hard for me to gravitate towards this series. This one was just ok for me. The characters werent that interesting to me - like I said I just cant quite put my finger on why this series doesnt appeal to me. I keep trying, maybe others later on will grab me....

Magic Bites isn't that strong of a book but man does it set the stage for an awesome series.

Definitely my least favorite book of the Night Watch series. It was ok, but just ok. There was nothing particularly objectionable about it, but there wasn't anything all that interesting either. It just seemed flimsy. Weak, chaotic plot, mostly boring characters, loose ends that (since there hasn't been another book in this series in 4 years) will apparently never be tied up. Do yourself a favor and pretend that Eternal Flame is the last in the series. It won't be difficult because there's no connection between the first three books and this one, except that the hero, Lucas appears briefly. Apparently he plays into the prequel book, Immortal Danger, which I've never read. Other than that, it didn't even seem to be a part of the same series.

i am reading

How it fits (: black cover
These books are fun, and this was one of the better books in the series. Kinsey is somebody you just can't help but like. I really didn't see all the little twists and turns coming in this book, and I enjoyed all the characters. Something I found interesting was they dealt with the drought in California, these books take place in the 80s, and we are still dealing with The drought!

I found myself a new favorite series!!! This book had just such a fun vibe about it, so much humor, I was laughing out loud! Who would've thought the Grim Reaper had such a sense of humor. . Charlie Davidson, I love everything about this girl , I want to hang out with her sometime. I listened to this book on audio and the narrator was the same narrator who does the The Stephanie Plum books, another favorite series of mine. Can't wait to get a hold of the second book, maybe my favorite series book. :-)
