Beautiful cover you have to say! I like this book a lot more than I had anticipated, there are a lot of similar books, and this book was very hyped, so I was very pleasantly surprised. The thing I like most about this book was the powers, I wish they would have touched a little more on that. I think that was the overall problem I had with the book I just needed a little more, a little more about the world, a little more about the powers, a little more about the stratification between the colors of blood. And then there was the almost nonexistent love story, this book left me with a lot of questions, but interesting enough to read the next book

This was a very good book, with a little different twist on the paranormal. Violet is a 17-year-old girl who senses dead bodies with echoes and oras. . I also really liked Violet as a character she was very real, although very stupid at times, although this does happen quite often and books like this. She must have chased after killers in the middle of the night more than a couple times all by herself. I also enjoyed her love interest in this book Jay he seems like a really good guy and the romance between them was very sweet and appropriate for their age . I definitely will continue with the series, especially because I have already read the next book, LOL!

Is paranormal Mistry a genre? It should be, it seems like that is the direction this series is going in, and I love it! I really love how everyone is working together and using their paranormal talents to figure out what is going on. Something I really liked about this book was getting a glimpse into Charles his past, it was nice to see him with some old friends. Anna and Charles as usual were very cute, I find them a very sweet couple. Can't wait next book in the series to come out.

Cute cozy mystery about a witch running a potion shop in Alabama. Cute small town filled with wedding chapels and lots of corky characters fun, fun, fun. Crazy mom who runs a wedding chapel but doesn't believe in marriage, old aunts referred to as the odd ducks, and cousin Delia Carly is learning to trust. And of course the love interest Dylan, who has a very interesting past with Carly. I also like the direction this Mistry check it went one way and then another and then back to another way, I will definitely be reading the next book in the series, also interested in reading the other series by this author.

Just a reminder that I am leaving for my vacation this Saturday, so if Wednesday isn't a winning shelf I will need someone to take over captain duties. I'll be gone for two shelf calls. Danielle, are you still willing to help out? If not, as long as those two shelves aren't the shelves that WE need for a win (alpha male and scifi romance as of today), then I can get everything caught up when I get back.

Shelf: Paranormal Romance

I liked this one better than the first book in the series. Most likely because I liked the couple better. Even as obnoxious as Miki could be, I just preferred her to Sara (I think because she was scholarly and reads, I could relate to her more). The overall plot was much more interesting too. Even the threat was scarier (the hyenas vs the lions in the first book), although why the hyenas were after Miki wasn't really explained, unless I missed it. Seemed like they were after her for no other reason than she was friends with Pack?
Bring on the third book. :-)

Good Job!! :D

I'm leaving for my trip tomorrow so if you have any reviews to write get them in tonight if you can. I'll try to find time to update everything. Looks like if scifi is called while I'm gone we might possibly win.
Danielle, you still willing to cover for me if need be?

I do believe this may have ben my first zombie book. I know, I know. How did I avoid it for so long?
I waffled between 3 and 4 stars before just settling for 3.5. At times it was tedious and kinda dull. Other times I was very into it. I'm a little bit skeptical (view spoiler) . Also I wanted a reason for what made R different from the others. What was it about his and Julie's relationship that turned the whole zombie apocalypse on its head?
The narrator did a good job. Not too annoying while "talking" like a zombie. Good job distinguishing voices too for the most part.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review:
This was a re-read for me as I am trying to give this book/series another chance. A few years ago I picked the book up at the library when I first started reading Patricia Briggs not sure of who she was and never having heard of the Mercy Thompson series. I also didn't know about the pre-quel to this book which sets the world up a little more for anyone diving into this particular installment. So saying all that, I am now a huge fan of Patricia Briggs and the Mercy Thompson series and have read the pre-quel... so now I can say I GET IT! I like this book. Initially I remember thinking Anna was weak or lacked any fire or will. Boy was I wrong. Having the context of the prequel, you see Anna has a solid, quiet strength. She's not kickass and that's okay. She provides the balance in a kickass crazy world. Because if everyone is kickass, there's no one's ass left to kick right?
Charles had some moments where I was like dude get it together. Or was like dude one simple question would ease this weird tension ya'll have. He got it together by the end but really he had some moments where I wanted to lovingly knock him upside the head.
The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it dragged a little in the end. It was also pretty descriptive regarding the mountains and crap so that bored me just a little bit. But other than that, I'm definitely reading the next one!

OH MY GOD PICK LOTHAIRE. He's one of my book husbands!

I really enjoyed the book....there's some really good character introductions so for a new series I thought the author did really fine job with setting the mystery. There is even a cat who plays a major role along with a little old lady who is very eccentric in that she senses things not readily known. The author did an awesome job in hiding clues to the mystery. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is the seventh book in the Rosemary Beach series, and I have really read this series all kinds of backwards. Although, I think this might of helped me even like this book a little more, especially because I had already read Emily and Kiro's story, that really gave me an appreciation of some of the things that happened in this book. Grant and Harlow, Are very cute together and even though I know where things ultimately end up, because I've read books that come after this book, I still found their journey interesting. I'm definitely going to continue with the series, even if I'm reading it all out of order!

Travis is the kind of guy that I personally have never met in the room world, he is hot, smart, and a complete player, that is until he meets you. Then he is completely devoted, completely overprotective, completely a one woman man. , I mean he can't even function without you, he doesn't even look at anybody else but you. Really??? But that is why they call this fiction, and sometimes it's a nice little getaway to fantasyland. OK, obviously I like Travis, now let's talk about Abby. She drove me a bit crazy, I mean the girl cannot make up her mind, like the boy or don't, at some point during this book I wanted to reach through the pages and shake this girl! . Then there was the ending, I have kids these kids age and if these were my children, I would be giving them a very strong talking to, about the real world, and real life, ETC.

Haven't been able to do much reading over here. We are keeping so busy that I pretty much am falling straight into bed whenever we get back to our hotel every night. Lol

Glad you're enjoying the break!
