I have that sitting here right next to me. It goes out as a "soon to be swapped". So it has to be read before digging into me tempting goodies. Such as Bitten by Kelley Armstrong which I bought for $3 (new) at a liquidation sale.
I spent the day reading Delia's Crossing by V.C. Andrews.

Her books for some reason I have read all out of order. I had the Dark Highlander for years in box in my basement and never read it. Found it and after I read it found out that it was book 5! well then I didnt want to go backward found book 7 cause I didn't think I would like 6 but now I read them all out of order but they are all fantastic I love them!

Still the series overall are fun reads..and if you like audiobooks, you should get them in that version. Phil Gigante's reading is just sexy..LOL.

Trying to branch off into different genres. Oh and m/m historicals, and paranormal historicals welcome as well.
Still reading Delia's Crossing. Since it is a LIB. I am trying to finish it quickly. I am glad that is actually a good V C Andrews book. Some other recent series I have not liked as much.

Congrats on your win Julie.

Colleen Gleason has a five book series that is set in Europe in the late 1800's. It's a sort of Buffy the Vampire Slayer complete with the yummy, mysterious men. Great series and all the books have been published so there won't be any waiting if you like it! I've read the first three and am about to start the fourth. I really liked the books and this is not my usual type of book, but I fell in love with them anyways.
Elizabeth Vaughan has a trilogy set in sort of medieval times. I loved, loved these books. Starts with Warprize, then Warsworn, and finally, Warlord. She started another series too, if you end up liking these.
Another old world paranormal romance series is byC.L. Wilson. Her Tairen Soul series is a great, epic love story with lots of magic.
This isn't usually a genre that I look for so these are the only things I've read that I think would fit.

I have started to read The Immortal Highlander

Dark of Night by Suzanne Brockmann (audiobook)-
I know a lot of fans hated this book because of the unexpected pairings, but I enjoyed the whole experience. When I gave up my preconceived desire on who Decker is supposed to end up with, I actually ended up liking the whole storyline.
Stolen by Kelley Armstrong
As usual, Armstrong's prose flows smoothly, I just have to keep reading. I enjoyed Elena and Clay's relationship and starting to appreciate the dynamics involve. Will definitely check out the third book, although I noticed it might be a different narrator..hmmm..
Started on audiobook, Eldest by Christopher Paolini and on book form, Richelle Meade's Succubus Blues.

Kenji, if you like regency historical romance and you're in the mood for some M/M, Bound by Deception is supposed to be really good. There's also a sequel Bound to Him. I haven't read them yet but they are on the list.

Kenjii, Pamela Clare has a fantastic duo (soon to be a trilogy, I think) set within The French and Indian War. The two I have are Surrender and Untamed. I highly recommend them.

I have read Bound by Deception and Bound to Him by Ava March and I enjoyed them both. I liked book 1 more than book 2, but then I felt that book 2 served to tidy up the left over answers from book 1 more than anything else. If nothing else it provides an interesting look at m/m relationships during that period - always fascinating to me, even more so because of the laws of the time. Don't know how historically correct they are, though. I should prob do a bit of research and fill in my intellectual gaps (of which there are many).

Kenjii, while going through all my M/M books I came across one that takes place in the old west Stealing West. Haven't read it yet but it looks interesting.

Great suggestions! When I am not familiar with a genre I just really enjoy looking at the covers and say, hmmm that looks interesting. But these look and sound interesting too! So yeah they have been added to my TBR pile =D.

Lori: Thanks. I will look them up!

I concur! I really enjoyed Elizabeth Vaughan's Chronicles of the Warlands series - it was like a woman had taken Conan the Barbarian and re-written it, which is prob why I enjoyed it more than the original Conan stories lol. Am currently reading her Star series and enjoying those, too :)
As an aside, currently re-reading Dream Man by Linda Howard. This was the first book of hers I ever read, a few years back, and I really liked it. Wanted to recapture a little bit of that 'new joy' this week

how horrible is that?"
Kasia, I do empathize with you!! I often have those 'flat' moments where I just cannot be bothered reading... but I want to read...but I can't find anything to satisfy me... And then of course there are those hideous times when I want to read all the time and I have work, family, and/or social commitments all keeping me away from my book! Grrrr.... can be frustrating. Just think though, as someone famous once said, "this too shall pass." ;)

how horrible is that?"
Hey...a break is always a good idea..

Let me know what you think of Red Fire. I've read Knight's Midnight Warriors series, and I just loved it.
Sarah,
I think Red Fire is the first book in Deidre Knight's new series call Gods of Midnight.

You know, I wasn't really enoying this book anyway, but this exact issue was what finally made me close it with 100 pages to go and say "I'm done."
I truly felt like Kenyon was dragging the book on and on so that she could continue to introduce new characters. Like "Hey, I'm going to bring the plot to a screeching halt so I can introduce the heroes for subsequent books! I'm trying to start a franchise!"
It was just so self-indulgent and I too was having trouble keeping track of it all. Reading this book was like trudging through thick mud and around the fourth or fifth time she stopped the movement of the story to introduce a new character that I'm just certain she was planning a future book for, I just said screw it. I can't do it anymore!
So yes, Night Embrace was my last Dark Hunter book. I will not be continuing that series.

I did finish it, but it took several days of me reading a little here and a little there. It made me seriously reconsider continuing with the series. It will be a long time before I pick up another one, if I bother at all. Glad I'm not the only one!

Hey Yz so far its good I like it. I have seen the movie 300 and loved it, similar to movie at least for me. I love Spartans hehehe. It has yet another god in it Ares he basically asks 7 of the spartans if they want to serve him and protect man kind.... (artemis and dark hunteresk) but no soul taking hehe. I'll let you know when I finish more but i am really enjoying it.

I'm only 60 pages in, and I already feel like there are too many characters being thrown at me. Mostly it's just been mentions of characters that I know will be in future books in the series, so I haven't yet experienced the stops and starts in the plot that Nichole mentioned. I have to say though that I haven't really been wowed by the DH books as a whole yet (sorry all you DH lovers;-)). I thoroughly enjoyed Fantasy Lover, and I liked the short story "The Beginning" which I understand is now part of the book Acheron, but since getting into the meat of the DH series, I've just been having trouble keeping track of all the characters and plot connections. Not to mention I don't feel like I have a really good grasp on the origins and purpose of the Dark-Hunters. I gave Night Pleasure a, perhaps over-generous, 4 stars (it was probably more a 3.5 rounded up), and so far Night Embrace isn't faring much better for me. I'm trying to be open-minded and just go with the flow, but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one whose having issues with these books. They always get such high ratings, I was starting to feel like an oddball.;-)

Red Fire A Gods of Midnight Novel

Ooh, I'll be curious to know what you think of that one, as a friend just lent it to me last week.

Next up (among the many others I am already reading lol) Last Wolf Hunting came in. Since I absolutely loved the first book, Last Wolf Standing, I am looking forward to Jeremy's story.

I decided to start (later today) The Saddlemaker's Wife by Earlene Fowler. I needed an E book or author for read the month and wasn't in the mood for the one I'd already picked. (I was going to read a Janet Dailey americana book for J author and E book but already have a J author now with Julie Garwood.) I've not read anything by Fowler before but she's well known, from what I read, having written many quilt mysteries (each book is named after a famous quilt block pattern.) I only have the Reader's Digest version of this book, but that's still 100-150 pages. Also gets me my unique profession for Men We Love challenge.
Anyone else have this problem? I have fun filling out my challenge books at the beginning of the month/challenge and before the month/challenge is over I've changed my mind on at least a third if not half of the books. lol
