Max turned on the TV in the room to a random channel, not caring what was on it.
She put her plate in the sink and went and sat next to him, "Thanks."
She leaned over and kissed his cheek, "I should go..."
"Ok. I'll drive you home." Max said. He walked out to the car.
Alex followed with her bag and climbed in.
Max got in the driver's seat and drove to Alex's house.
She took a breath before climbing out and going to the front door.
Max stood next to her and glanced nervously at her.
She looked back at him and kissed him quickly, "I love you." she whispered.
"You too." Max said before knocking on the door.
She was tempted to run away but Gavin opened the door. He frowned, "Grounded." he said and pointed inside. She walked in.
Max sighed and followed her inside.
Gavin turned to Max, "Where on earth was she? You didn't call?!"
"Sorry. I forgot. She was at her friend's and then I took her over to my place to stay the night. Nothing happened. Dont worry." Max explained.
Gavin fumed, "She stayed at your place? She's sixteen Max! You're twenty three!"
"Nothing happened!" Max said, defensivly
"But one days she'll want something to happen!"
"Gavin, just relax. Nothing happened tonight and nothing will happen any other night." Max said.
He crossed his arms, "Did you sleep in separate rooms?"
Gavin looked him over a second, "Fine."
Gavin stormed up to Alex and Victoria came round to Max, "You stayed in the same room, didn't you?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"No." Max told Victoria. He was going to die if Gavin found out.
Victoria chuckled and shook her head, "Your secrets safe with me but I'm giving her THE talk tonight and you're going to be there too."
"Alright." Max said with a sigh.
Gavin came down and slouched on the couch, "I swear to God I'm going to sell her."
"You can always sell her to me." Max said.
Gavin seemed tempted, "How much would you pay?" he chuckled.
"How about 7 years worth of work and two of my best cattle." Max joked.
"And a duck." Gavin added and grinned.
"Dead or alive?" Max asked. "Because I only do dead ducks."
"Either. It'll be tasty no matter what."
"Okay then I believe we have a deal." Max said happily. He laughed a bit.
Gavin laughed too and put am arm round Victoria, "How's football going by the way?"
"Wonderful." Max said. "For you?"
"I quit now Vikkies a few months along in the pregnancy." he sighed, "Thing is I love her more then football."
Max smiled. "Congratulations." he said.
He rubbed her stomach, "Mini Gavin's!" he declared and she laughed.
Max laughed. He looked around for Alex.
She came down a few minutes later and went to the kitchen but Victoria called her and pointed at the seat and also at Max, "Both of you, sit." she ordered.
Max just stayed where he was, already sitting.
"So..." Victoria said rubbing her hands together, "We should have THE talk."
Alex immediately stood up, "No."
"Sit." Gavin ordered and she reluctantly did.
