I've started digging through books looking for ones that will meet this challenge. I want to revise my goal to five. Maybe more later! I finished my first one and I gave it five stars:
The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. DanforthColonel Mustard in the dining room with a candlestick.
I don't see why not Craig. Without the translator, you wouldn't have been able to read it in English.
Yay! Welcome to the challenge Joanne! Do you have a goal? Or do you just want to see how many you get to?
I'm almost embarrassed to claim this one, but I used it for my Graphic Novel in the Halloween Costumes Mini Challenge. Fathom: Dawn of War Beginnings
by Talent Caldwell, Blue CoverMrs. Peacock with the Wrench in the Conservatory

No embarrassment needed Theresa! Of the four books I have planned for October, only one works for this challenge. Use whatever works :)
What a brilliant idea! I'm in, though I don't really want to set a goal for myself, at least just yet. I'll just go with it and see how many I can get!
This afternoon I finished reading Year of Wonders
by Geraldine Brooks, noting the white lace collar and white lettering on the cover.Mrs. White with the Wrench in the Ballroom.
This is #2 for me.
Jodi, do you prefer that I keep posting individually as I finish books, or would you prefer I keep one message updated with all my finishes?
Normally I would say you could update your original post but with the number of people in this challenge, I would worry I might miss some.
Tonight I finished The Rainbow
by D.H. Lawrence, noting the red in the "O" and other designs on the cover.Miss Scarlett with the Revolver in the Lounge.
This is #3 for me.

I just finished Ready Player One
by Ernest Cline with yellow lettering on the cover.Colonel Mustard with the Revolver in the Conservatory.
This is my #4 book for October, and I've been lucky that all have fit this challenge so far.
Kristy wrote: "This sounds like fun! I think I will do Miss Scarlet with a wrench in the conservatory.
"I have you down Kristy. How appropriate to read an Agatha Christie book for the cluedo challenge.
Guess #1:Miss Scarlet with the wrench in the library
Read 10/07/2013
As a side note, can you actually come up with a solution and reveal it at the end to see if anyone got it?
Coming Up Roses by Catherine AndersonMrs. White with a revolver in the conservatory
Loving Julia by Karen Robards
Miss Scarlet with a lead pipe in the kitchen
Elephants Can Remember by Agatha Christie
Miss Scarlet with a candlestick in the conservatory
The High King by Lloyd Alexander
Colonel Mustard with a knife in the library
Murder at Longbourn by Tracey Kiely
Mrs. Peacock with a lead pipe in the kitchen
1/3
Read 10/7/13Great book! I've had it my to-be-read pile far too long for it to have been so good!
Miss Scarlet with the knife in the kitchen.
Thanks for moderating, Jodi!

Cathy are you finished all of these? Or is this your plan of what to read? I just want to make sure I have your progress accurate.
Way to go Natalie and Lorelei! I have updated your progress.@Lorelei, I enjoy leading challenges. It is fun and a different way to participate in the group.
As a side note, can you actually come up with a solution and reveal it at the..."I can make up a real solution if people would like, or Kara could. I don't think it was the original intent of the challenge but if people would like that, it might be fun to see how many people guess the solution.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Mrs. White, Candlestick, Kitchen"
How did you like the book Lianne? I remember I loved the movie way back when. I would like to read the book I think.

I gave it 5 stars. It is written through the perspective of the Chief, which is interesting because of his mental illness. I was really shocked at some parts of the book. The way the staff treated the patients is sickening. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't know if they did justice to the book. I can't wait to watch it after reading the book. Jack Nicholson seems perfect for the role of McMurphy.
Karina wrote: "1/5:Colonel Mustard with the candlestick in the dining room
Cory Doctorow - Pirate Cinema
"I love the cover of the book! It is so interesting.
I just finished Life After Life
by Kate Atkinson with red roses on the cover. I had honestly planned to read this before Kara used it as an example, but I'll go with her suggestion:
Miss Scarlett with the lead pipe in the kitchen.
This was #5 for me, but the run is at an end. My next 2 books don't work for this challenge.
Jodi wrote: "Congratulations Theresa on completing your challenge! Keep it going to see how far you can go!"I will, Jodi. This is a fun one!
Just got back from vacation and finished my first book Reverend Green in the lounge with a lead pipe
.

It is such a bright and pretty cover with such a sinister title.
My goal since I am coming into this in the middle of the month will be 3. I have six weeks off from work and I am hoping to get some fun reading in for a change from reading nothing but textbooks.
Welcome to the challenge Heather! Six weeks away from textbooks sounds like heaven. Enjoy the challenge.@ Cherise I have you updated :)
Craig I have you down for 2 now. I counted the first one you asked about the author and translator.I think I have everyone updated. Can you let me know if I am missing any of your updates. Thanks.
