Do you like all sorts of anime types or do you try to avoid certain things?
ive watched all different kinds, and love a lot of them. At first, I really enjoyed any anime involving demons, vampires, or anything supernatural. Now that ive been watching for four years, ive opened up to a lot of different genres! :))
If you like Romantic Comedy mixed with martial arts I would suggest the classic Ranma 1/2 about a boy who was training in china at a cursed spring and ends up falling into spring of drowned girl while his father lands in spring of drowned panda. Now whenever they get wet with cold water they turn into a girl and a panda. As for a great mangaka I suggest Naoki Urasawa who did Monster and 20th Century Boys who are excellent thriller and scifi stories (so far as I have read them.) :)
Hi, I'm Matt, a Tokyo-based translator and author. I grew up during the first boom for translated manga in the States in the late 80s, and while my tastes skew more towards the classic, I'm a fan of modern manga like Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, and Dorohedoro (the translation of which I actually worked on.)
I'm Andrea and I would like to read sweet romances, fantasy, japanese culture or mistery. However, I don't like ecchi or violence, I would lie to read good stories without shocking scenes. Recently I've had a lot of troubles with this :( I feel like most of famous mangas these days are too bloody or ecchi :(
Andrea wrote: "I'm Andrea and I would like to read sweet romances, fantasy, japanese culture or mistery. Forget about Hellsing as I mentioned in the owned manga section because it literally turns into a bloody war. I can make some suggestions though that you may like.
Awkward boy (who is incrediably strong) saves girl from pervert on train. Lessons in love and growing up happen as the story progresses. Also has comedic stuff.
A guy who for some reason is able to slip backwards in time so he can fix things that go wrong find his mother murdered and he is the only suspect. He travels far to the past now only a child around the time several children were taken and murdered. Now he has to do what he can to save those children while hindered by his younger self.
A potentially dangerous entity decides to teach a class of students who are part of a bully type of harassment created by their school. Using his powers he will enrich their lives all while the students have to do their best to assassinate their teacher before he destroys the world. My friend says he got to the end of the series and got major feels.
I haven't read this myself but I heard good things about this series. :)
The story of a man studying culture on the Silk Road. The art is absolutely gorgeous and the characters are fun too. :)
A young man born under an unlucky star is visited by the goddess Belldandy to offer him any wish to counter all of the bad luck in his life. Thinking it is a joke or he is going crazy he wishes for her to stay by his side (or so I remember) and it is granted. Now they work together in this slice of life with a divine twist,
A girl raised to be sacrificed to the king of beasts learns the truth about the king and changes his life forever. Touching tale of how even one person can change hatred between species.
A girl is stolen away from the modern world by the Water Dragon God and must learn to grow in a world without modern conveniences.
A doctor puts his reputation on the line to save a young boy whom only he had the skills to save while an important political figure dies on the table while less competent doctors fail to save him. Strangely afterward those who oppose the doctor start to die. The story has violence and can be a little scary at times but I don't recall any really graphic depictions of violence and it is a really good psychological thriller that questions when pushed how long before we let the monsters within us take over.
And now rounding up at number 10 a slice of life manga about Jesus and Buddha getting an apartment together after finishing up the last millennium and deciding to get a rest in the mortal world. Lots of short stories and often silly but defiantly not violent or ecchi. :)
Hello! I am Juuso and i like to read manga (of course :D) Some of my favorite mangas are Erased by Kei Sanbe, The and the beast by Mamoru Hosoda. I love Yoshihiro Takahashi too, but i think that none of his mangas are translated to England.

I tend to overlook blatantly ecchi scenes in manga so long as I like the characters /story but I am glad I can share books that depend more on story then horny readers. :)
hey! i’m lemon girl. i love reading fantasy and i plan on starting manga sometime soon. check out my bio for more information about me!
Hello! My is Scottie, I'm 27 from Indiana USA. I read/ watch a large variety of manga/ anime. I tend to chose stories based off how good looking I think a character is. I am terrible at remembering the titles and the names of characters. I cosplay and attend cons when I can. I am also super crafty!
Scottie wrote: "Hello! My is Scottie, I'm 27 from Indiana USA. I read/ watch a large variety of manga/ anime. I tend to chose stories based off how good looking I think a character is. I for one have a hard time following a book if the artwork doesn't appeal at all either but thankfully there are many I like.

No real context just, this character keeps appearing in my feed, I've read/watch some weird ones due to that.
Hi!!!Everyone.I am Yasmin.I like Manga and anime both TOO TOO TOO much as I always feel that I enter into another world when I start to read Manga or watch Anime. At that time I always forget about the sorrows I am going through in my life.

It is a more realistic style of art and is not afraid to address an assortment of problems people had to deal with back in the age of vikings. :)

You are also the 1000th message. :)
Nothing wrong with a little escapism when you have things you can't control in your life but please remember escapism will only help so far and that there is (hopefully) help out there that you can or are willing to get so your sad moments will lessen in the real world too.
NTMY-Liz, here. I like to read (and watch) just about anything but love Monster, Death Note, AoT, We Were There, 20th Century Boys, Gantz, Inuyashiki, Bleach, and many others.

Hello! My name is Kyla I’m pretty versatile when it comes to genre of manga or anime and i really don’t know how goodreads work so 😭
Hi, I'm Kate. I am big fan of historical and Edo era animes/manga, any type of supernatural and fantasy ones, as well as sports ones.
Kyla wrote: "Hello! Sometimes I have to look in here to refresh some things I have forgotten but this sight is great for keeping track of books you want to read and already read. :)
For good measures I'll put the link here too. https://help.goodreads.com/s/
Cati wrote: "Hi, I'm Kate. I am big fan of historical and Edo era animes/manga, any type of supernatural and fantasy ones, as well as sports ones."Salutations Cati. Have you seen the Ōoku: The Inner Chambers, Volume 1, The Apothecary Diaries, Vol. 1, and/or the Golden Japanesque: A Splendid Yokohama Romance Vol. 1 manga yet? Each has their different charms depending on what you are looking for in a period piece. :)
Honestly sports manga are one of the few genres I don't really get excited for so I can't say anything about them but there are also plenty of supernatural and fantasy books out there too depending on what you like. A really weird but geeky fun one I read recently is Uncle from Another World Vol. 1 about a man who traveled to a fantasy world after going into a coma. The manga is basically him telling about his experiences (after waking from his coma) in the other world while also being a slice of life type story about how he and his nephew use his magical powers he got from the other world in boring old society. :)
Hi, I'm Genie! I've watched a lot of anime, though I've read a few manga as well. I don't have a favorite genre or a specific show(it's so hard to pick~), so I guess I'll just say that I watch a bit of everything.
