"Nothing, really. I just walk or ride around." he said.

She sighed, "And classes are that bad?"
Noah scowled. "The teachers and I do not get along."
"Because you don't try. When you are in class you don't pay attention, screw around and distract everyone. Some of the classes are actually really interesting."
Noah scoffed. "For you maybe."
"Mainly just history and English. Edgar Allan Poe kind of...I dunno he reminds me of myself..."
"In what way?" he asked. Noah had read all of his works. No one else knew that though.
Edgar Allen Poe was really depressing and that feeling kind of related to her now, "You wouldn't get it..."
"Have you read anything by him?" she challenged, expecting a no.
Noah nodded. "Just about everything of his I can get my hands in." he said.
"Really?" she asked, surprised and glad for a chance to change the subject, "What's your favorite work of his?"
"Yes. Really." Noah thought for a moment. "The Raven." he answers.
"I like The Tell-Tale Heart. It's really intriguing."
"It's such a unique plot." she smiled, "I wouldn't have pegged you as a fan. We're going to start a unit on him in English next week if you'll show up."
Noah sat for a moment. "We'll see." he said.
She asked, "Why don't you? Just for a lesson? You might enjoy it."
She stood, "I still need to visit the cemetery and my curfew's in an hour. I'll see you around."
She started walking the the cemetery, pulling a small bouquet of black and red roses from her bag before disappearing out of sight.

Noah stood against the wall in the school hallway. Debating if he would join English this week, like Kenzy suggested.

Kenzy was talking to Lisa. Lisa had broken curfew last night and was now grounded. Kenzy rolled her eyes and smiled in a long sleeve blouse despite the warm weather.
Noah started to talk with one of his friends. Darrel wasn't here today.
Kenzy and Lisa headed to first period Mass.
Noah sighed and skipped Mass.
Lisa would not shut up about Derrel and Kenzy was about ready to slap her.
Noah sat on the floor against the wall.
Kenzy was glad when that class was over and want to her next class.
Noah waited until English. Deciding to join this week.
She was in there and finally snapped at Lisa, "Please! Shut up about Derrel!"
Noah walked in as she said that. Stopping in the doorway he raised an eyebrow.
Lisa pouted. Kenzy continued, "If you don't, I might make you dump him and become a nun!"
Noah bit his lip to keep from laughing and walked past her.
Lisa shut up and started messing around with her pencil. Kenzy glanced at Noah hoping for some relief from this torture.
Noah chuckled as class started.
She took notes and the teacher handed out the manuscript of the Tell Tale Heart.
She smiled. She had read it a million times already.
He read it over quickly. Not really needing to read it. M
The teacher told them they would have to do a project of their choice on it in the partners she assigned, "Lisa and Derrel," Lisa threw a mini party in her seat. "Kenzy and Noah," Kenzy's jaw dropped. Sure she talked to him mainly because Lisa and Derrel made her want to puke but she didn't want her friend hurt. But for a PARTNER? No. But she had to. She inwardly groaned.
Noah nearly died. He didn't really want to Kenzy.
"Now get with your partners." Kenzy grudgingly and slowly went over to Noah, "Ideas?"
