message 151: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Have to agree with D.A.'s call on that.

Where is that next shelf...

I'm on a "diet" of one new book a week (two the first week) with re-reads filling in the time between shelves to combat that "one chapter in and it's on the shelf called the next day" agony....

Even worse...the been-dying-for-this-new-book wait: Tuesday, August 4...new Kate Daniels (Fireworks! Joyful cartwheels!). Pre-ordered, will automatically download...and the shelf is THURSDAY 5 a.m. (ya know, those pesky time zones...) Wait...but it might not fit that week's shelf...OR just dive in and snag another book. Decisions. Sob.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments I just usually pick a non-paranormal to read in between shelf calls. (one that doesn't work for any of the shelves that could be non-pnr) Or one from a shelf that I know I have a lot of books for on hand.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments How do author pseudonyms work? I have read the The Haunted Bookstore series by Alice Kimberly. Same author is also Cleo Coyle. So does a Cleo Coyle book count as a "new to me author" or a "same but different"?

message 154: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments She'd be a same but different, Mary.

message 155: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments There's no waiting for Kate IMO =]

message 156: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Especially as you could do a re-read Judithe :D

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 2179 comments I'm killing off some downloaded samples while waiting. And feeling guilty that a library book came thru the wait list that I'm not going to start until after shelf call because potentially fits a lot of shelves.

message 158: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments That's what I figured but thought I'd ask.

message 159: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments I still haven't read Kate Daniels #7 (it came out during my terrible reading slump last year and I've been avoiding it ever since for some crazy reason.)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments KATE! I agree, Jenne, there's no waitin' for Kate!

I have to wait a little bit. I pre-ordered from Amazon, since I could get it for $13 and change. I couldn't resist the half off offer. However, I'm not a prime member, so to get free shipping I have to wait on the book to make the loooooong ground trip to me.

Thenia | 977 comments While we wait for the new shelf, I updated the BSB Team Names Spreadsheet one of the ninjas (Sandra I think) had created a few rounds back. Some funny names in there!

I know that I've played more than three rounds but I can only remember three of my previous team names. G.L.O.B. (gorgeous ladies of bingo, of course) Gypsies, Vamps and Thieves and Doomsday Bingo Bunnies.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 2179 comments Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, ... (I'm guessing approximately 1 3/4 hours to go?). I feel like I'm doing the pee-pee dance waiting for shelf.

message 175: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments Remember those long car trips as a kid and how it took forever to reach your destination. It's kind of like that today.

Is it time yet?

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments It's up, ladies! Go get BLOODY :D

message 177: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments Steph, I just noticed there's a misprint on Team 1's page BINGO card image. It reads "a bloody bess". Not a big deal, but we might be waiting a long time for that particular shelf to be called. ;D

message 178: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited Jul 22, 2015 02:45PM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL! ;) I'll fix it for ya. All fixed!

message 179: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Bloody Bess sounds like an awesome name for a UF series. Just saying.

message 182: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments OK I need a refresher course on how to link to a specific review post on a thread. I know how to do a link but I'm not sure what to put into it to get the actually review and not the whole page of posts that the review is on, if that makes any sense.

message 183: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Mary, you link to the bit that has the date, time over on the right hand side - opposite the name. You use copy link location by right clicking.

Hope that enough info, if not post again :)

message 184: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments Mary, click on the time date stamp of the post you want, then cut the URL and paste it into the HTML code.

message 185: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Thanks! I knew it was something simple that I was forgetting.

message 187: by D.G. (last edited Jul 28, 2015 03:52AM) (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments Shelf!

I'm suffering from shelfitis or whatever the hell is called. Lately I've been in a big sci-fi mood but since Bingo started, I'm afraid to pick up a sci-fi romance book in case the shelf is called!

message 188: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I hear ya! I've been reading a bunch of CR/ER books instead of the long (growing longer) list I really wanna read.

message 189: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments I'm just trying to finish some of the books that I have started. Shelf!

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 2179 comments I'm catching up on my shelf read (damn work interfered) but otherwise am trying to clear off some downloaded samples and the ever perennial re-organizing shelves.

message 191: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments I just decided to read a non-paranormal for my print book. One that I can easily put down for another when the shelf is called.

message 195: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments Hope that works for you Mary. I picked up Eeny Meeny (Helen Grace, #1) by M.J. Arlidge on my way out the door, not expecting much. New author to me, first in a series. However, I'm now thoroughly caught up in the action and it's gonna be hard to put it down. On the bright side, I may have found a author/series.

message 196: by Raquel (Rocki) (new)

Raquel (Rocki) (raquelrocki) | 1005 comments I liked Eeny Meeny as well Daffodil.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 2179 comments Shelf!!!

I think my browser is tired of refreshing (I know, shelf call not due for another half hour or so)! I'm stalking the shelf announcement, the library ebook waitlist (hoping to get a particular book before BotM completely over), and waiting for one of my machines to get the Windows 10 rollout ...

message 199: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Shelf's up, ladies! :D

message 200: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2516 comments Read a book published in 2015 (any month)
for real? I just read Spider's Trap (Elemental Assassin, #13) by Jennifer Estep yesterday!
