BINGO R12 | Discussion Thread
With this shelf call (and of course once all stamps are received) Dragons is the only winning shelf for next week. (Team 2).Series to Start, BINGO, Alpha Male, Sci-Fi Romance, Free 4 Me, and New 2 You Author would all make 8 for several teams. (Teams 5, 9, 12,13, and 14)
11 shelves left.

Maybe because I'm used to the urgency of the other game where a team can have 4 in a row very quickly, I'm not feeling this one as much. ..."I've felt the same, DG. Although, I'd imagine the pace will pick up a bit as teams get closer to a potential win.
I'm still not sure where everyone is seeing potentially winning shelves at bottom of the spreadsheet. (I can follow where once all caught up and stamped some teams will already have 7 in a row.). That link takes me to a spreadsheet that still says winning shelves won't be posted until one team has 8 of 9?
Debbie, under the team tables, still on the same page, Judithe has some lists detailing which teams are close, which have 7 shelves called, and what shelves are required for bingo. She has always done this, regardless of the pattern required for bingo.
Team 9 would have had Bingo at week 10 if it was a normal round, what fun would that have been.... Play on!!

Every time I pull up the link (and for good measure refresh browser) it shows at bottom left of spreadsheet a column for winning shelves (none, but has a note that will list once a team gets 8) then to the right of that a column of non-winning shelves.
Where is everyone else seeing the winning shelf list? This is what I see from that link:
It's a potential winning shelf list, and you've gotta remember that Judithe hasn't updated it yet, no doubt she's teaching as its the middle of the day for her now.Beside your screenshot, to the right.
Various Stats (by team#) (in the coloured section)
lists team # and across to the right, lists the potential winning shelves they need to win.
So far it lists, #2, #5, #9, #12 & #14
Uncle. Nevermind. I give up. Neither iPad Safari or Windows Chrome browser is showing me what y'all are seeing -- maybe a cache issue or something in my settings isn't letting me scroll right enough past the team cards or something. I keep just seeing two columns, one labeled "winning" (none listed but has a note that will update once team gets 8) and one labeled "non-winning" (several listed that singly won't win but in combination with other shelves could win) with no potential any things at right, left, top, or bottom. That's what I still see on my screenshot of bottom left corner and on the spreadsheet.
The only thing I think I'm seeing in common with everyone else are the numbers underneath each team's cards showing that if all stamped up teams 2, 5, 9, 12 & 14 will have 7 in a row.
I'll take your word for it that there is a list of winning shelves showing when you click the spreadsheet link instead of the note that will be added once a team has 8 that my devices show me.
Well if you're not seeing the extra coloured bit, no wonder you are confused. Don't worry all the info is in the team tables, its just been extracted for Judithe's list.
I can see the colored bits; I just cropped the screenshot to show the bottom left third or so where the "Potentially Winning Shelves" section only shows me a note that it would be updated once a team had eight while it was showing others what the winning shelf would have been (if today's call had gone differently).I don't care any more; just not going to look at the blasted spreadsheet again. It was just weirding me out trying to figure out what shelf call would have been a potential winner when near as I could see no team had more than 7 in any pattern and I didn't see where any call would have been a winner. Then was told to view the spreadsheet scrolling down to bottom to see what call would have been the winning shelf.
I've never seen that behavior in google docs except in an unrefreshed cached page -- behavior where what I saw and what came across in a screenshot appeared differently to other people who can see a list of potentially winning shelves where I see (the circled in red on screenshot ) a message that the list of potential winning shelves would be updated once a team had 8.
Just an old IT person online after midnight whose mind has been trying to make sense of it when a public Google doc displays differently for different users. Can't be related to browsers or countries -- I tried all the browsers and faked some ip's.
I'll just not look at the spreadsheet any more since no one else is seeing what I posted in the screenshot. My mind will have enough to distract it because of what I've just got called on-site to handle.
Guess it's just me who saw that "(will start tallying when a team gets to 8)" message.
Nope I see what you posted Debbie, but what we were referring to was to the right of that. But you're right, its not worth making yourself crazy.
I'm viewing with an iPad with Safari from US and able to see the document... It is larger than the view screen so I have to touch and slide the doc over to see that column. Strange that it's not working for everyone. Hmmmm....
Thanks! Sorry for those who can't see to the far side...it's just under the cards cards on the far right side of the sheet...so it seems if you can see card 12, you should just be able to scroll down and see that section. Have no idea why that quirk is happening, nor how to change it to fix...Anyway, it's updated, and am always glad to be able to double check with Rachel. :)
Would
work for New2You Series? Yes, it's the first book in a series but the rest of them are all novellas and I have no idea if there will be more after those. Good enough?
Yes, that works Nichole. Doesn't matter what length the following books are. Just as long as the one you read is 200 pgs or more, and it is :)
Sandra wrote: "Nope I see what you posted Debbie, but what we were referring to was to the right of that. But you're right, its not worth making yourself crazy."I can see what's at right.
What's over at right just had nothing to do with why underneath "Potential Winning Shelves" I only saw a note that it would be updated when a team had eight stamps in a pattern while others are seeing a list of winning shelves in that very first, left-most column of spreadsheet.
ETA: Am I now still odd man out for seeing where that note under "Potentially Winning Shelves" now says that Team 2 will win if "dragons" is iWednesday's shelf call since others weren't ever seeing the note that it would be updated when a team got 8?
We always saw where it said it would be updated when a team got 8 - and now Team #2 has gotten to 8, its been updated. Over on the right, it had more information, and included when teams got 7 called shelves.
Sandra wrote: "We always saw where it said it would be updated when a team got 8 ...??? Then I have no idea what was this whole conversation was about. I completely missed where that was said.
Probably cause we didn't say as it was obvious to us. You asked where we were seeing the shelves & that's what we were talking about.Nevermind Debbie, it doesn't matter :)
BTW...we played Bingo at work last night! I was thinking of all of you!I won nothing of course (except for 2 shakes at Potbelly's because I had a grumpy face when I wasn't winning any of the Bingo games) and they have really good prizes. Apple TVs, designer handbags and autographed footballs.
Hiya, Bingettes! Today's a busy day for me, so I've posted the shelf a bit early. Enjoy & Happy Reading! :D
Can it be two people on the cover or do they have to be a couple (meaning already romantically involved)?

Yup! I actually read Cry Wolf and few years ago and didn't like then tried Mercy and obviously love her so I went back and read the novella and now things from Cry Wolf make sense so now I want to re-read to give it a better try than before!
If I remember correctly from past rounds, covers for other editions can be used even if it's in another language?
We're getting down to the pointy end of the game. So if you've got books outstanding, now is the time to read, rate & review them.
For those interested, everyone has read Free Space, Strong Heroine, A Bloody Mess, Happy Birthday, Series Catch Up, Demons, Dark & Stormy & Paranormal Romance.
So various teams still have outstanding Urban Fantasy, Favorites, Meow!, Cover Love, Itchy Witch, New2You Series, Reader's Choice and everyone has Coupledom.
For those struggling:
Urban Fantasy: anything you've read from 26 August that qualifies
Favorites: anything you've read from 2 September
Meow!: anything with a feline shifter you've read since 9 September
Cover Love: anything you've read since 23rd September
Itchy Witch: any book you've read with witches or magic since 30 September
New2You Series: any new series, must be book 1, you've read since 7 October
Reader's Choice: anything you've read since 14 October
If you're unsure what books you've got outstanding, just post on your team's thread and your Captain or one of the Mods will help you out :)
