I hope you enjoy Ender's Game - the book & the movie. It's been a long time since I read Ender's Game :-) and when I say a long time, I'm talking decades.

Thanks. I am enjoying it so far. I've read 57 pages so far which is great considering I haven't had much time to read today. =D

I heard Ender's Game is a great book- will have to check it out one of these days.

I think Dracula is on nbc-i think it's on after grimm but I've never watched grimm so i'm not sure of the channel- the commercials keep showing previews of both shows-they are premiering the same night. if it's not nbc it's cbs but i'm pretty sure it's nbc.

Christine | 798 comments I just finished Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West It fulfills a character that would be at a Halloween party, the Wicked Witch of the West, of course, among others. I was disappointed. I was expecting something similar to the stage play. I loved that and I am not the kind of person who usually likes musicals.

Yeah me neither. My favorite musicals are The Book of Mormon Musical and the newest Muppet Movie (2011) :-)

You got to see The Book of Mormon? That's a hard ticket to come by. I hope to see it someday.

message 211: by Christine (new)

Christine | 798 comments I finished another today. I seem to be in a rut, reading books about witches. I liked this one so much more. A Discovery of Witches It has a book in it that witches, vampires and daemons are obsessed by.

I like witches :-) I recently read The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane for this challenge and absolutely loved it!

Actually, no I haven't seen The Book of Mormon Musical. I only have the soundtrack but I already know it's a favorite :-) I hope they release a DVD someday.

I saw it in San Francisco. I loved it. Like I said before I am not someone who likes musicals but this was fantastic. The costumes and sets were dazzling. The songs are the kind that stick in your brain but in a good way. I hope you get to see it someday.

I have that book in my TBR pile. I will move it up to be read. I gotta keep my string of books with witches going.

Speaking of witches, is anyone watching American Horror Story: Coven? Its definitely freaky.

I haven't checked it out but heard it was good-love Kathy Bates. I tried watching the first season of American horror story but didn't like it.

the only new show I like so far this year is the blacklist. hope Dracula is good.

message 218: by Christine (new)

Christine | 798 comments I really like Sleepy Hollow. That's my favorite of the new shows. American Horror Story has a way of making you feel uncomfortable as you watch it. I watched the first season, skipped the second. One of the reasons for watching this season is Kathy Bates. I hope Dracula is good too.

Christine | 798 comments Another book to add to my challenge. This one had a cop/detective as the main character, Blinded Its another in the Alan Gregory series by Stephen White. I only have 5 more books to read and I will be done. I am sure going to miss these characters.

Dude, get out of the 80's. Get a PS3 or PS4 and get netflix with some AWESOME games!!! Which also include classic arcade games from the 80's. Dig Dug, Pac Man, Mega Man... also including Mega Man 9 and 10 being retro through back to the 80's Mega Man... talking about Mega Man, I am gonna play some Mega Man X on my Super Nintendo!!! XD

Jenn (darkstarcassidy) | 257 comments I finally got a free dvr upgrade so I can record all my shows. I'm loving American Horror Story Coven. At my library they have True Blood, Game of Thrones, Supernatural and Breaking Bad all seasons on DVD. I finished Supernatural season 8 so maybe I will try True Blood today since I have a week off work.

True Blood, Game of Thrones, and Supernatural are all my favorites. Your library has a great selection of DVDs!

If any of you feel limited by Netflix, there is always Hulu Plus or Amazon Prime for streaming. Not that either is better, they just offer different selections. I wish one of them would start offering Veronica Mars without having to pay more per episode.

Everyone is in a Breaking Bad Craze. I bought Season One from Barnes & Noble because it was pretty reasonably priced but I have hold on Season Two at the library and I think there are 8 people ahead of me so it may be a while. I am also currently watching The Mentalist.

I recommend a PS3. Both games are downloadable along with their most current sequels. The oldest game system I own is a Nintendo Entertainment System. I love it so much. I have Super Mario, Final Fantasy, and TMNT 2: The Arcade Game on it... just to name a few. =D

I haven't watched Breaking Bad nor do I have much interest in it. Its on Netflix so if I do happen to want to watch it, I can. lol.

Josh Barnett (joshyboy98311) | 366 comments Dustin Crazy little brown owl wrote: "No Thanks :-) All I need is my ATARI."

Trust me, you NEED more!!! Don't be content with just one system. You are missing out being able to save a princess from a dino turtle thing AND also saving a princess from Gannon; going into a zombie infested mansion, saving the dragon race, stealing cars, Demon Hunting, saving the president's daughter, saving the earth by going back in time, becoming the batman, killing Gods, treasure hunting, treasure hunting while being a female, going into Silent Hill facing your own nightmares, and saving people from the C Virus. Yeps, you are missing out on a lot of great stories that have been butchered by movies... I think I have gone over board possibly a little... Video games rock though. lol.

Yay! Today I read a picture book that is less than 200 pages and I did it all by myself! The book is called Pee-Ew! Is That You, Bertie? It is all about farting and passing gas.

Josh Barnett (joshyboy98311) | 366 comments I just finished another Challenge. Ender's Game fits into the war challenge. It was a great book with the ending I wasn't expecting.

1) Ender's Game (Ender's Saga, #1) by Orson Scott Card
3) The Queen of the Damned (The Vampire Chronicles, #3) by Anne Rice
4) The Vampire Lestat (The Vampire Chronicles, #2) by Anne Rice
6) The Bride Collector by Ted Dekker
7) The Master of Rampling Gate by Anne Rice

I am reading The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury. It fits not only the Halloween Party challenge but also the under 200 pages challenge.

Danell (danellbookworm) | 685 comments Read Blockade Billy by Stephen King for the short story. Going to read Private (Jack Morgan, #1) by James Patterson for the detective/investigator part of the challenge.

Have to make a few more trips from our old place, an hour and a half away, to the new one, but the majority of the move is over.....thank goodness! My heating pad is my new best friend!
