Mods' September Challenge for BAPs
We really like what Mango Tango (who has declined our Mods’ September Challenge for BAPs) has done with their
Mango Tango's September Straight Percentage Challenge.
So, we are giving you this as another option, although not for as many points as ours. If you do ours you will now get more than double than what we originally posted for each percent.

If your Team chooses MT's Straight Percent, you'll get:9.9% = 9 BAPs
8.33 to 9.8% = 7 BAPs
7 to 8.2% = 5 BAPs
9.9% = 4 BAPs
8.33 to 9.8% = 2 BAPs
7 to 8.2% = 1 BAPs

My goal is 145.
9.9% of that is 14 books, so I will need to read 14 books in September.
1/3 of these (so roughly 5) need to be from the challenge A Book A Day Keeps the Boredom at Bay.
The other 9 will need to be from another challenge listed above.
So, is this right??

That is correct, Sandy. The calculations have been done on Radical Red's page of the SU.
If just you and Amy do this challenge, you'll be a "team within a Team" and do it together. So, right now, you could read
There is also the straight percentage option, which will get you less BAPs, but still some!
If just you and Amy do this challenge, you'll be a "team within a Team" and do it together. So, right now, you could read
17 books = 5 BAPsAlso, together you only have to read 1/3 of your books from the "A Book a Day..." challenge.
20 books = 7 BAPs
23 books = 9 BAPs
There is also the straight percentage option, which will get you less BAPs, but still some!
Sandy wrote: "Question for mods: Can we use books started in August but finished in September? I think this has been the case for other challenges."
Yes, any book finished in September.
Yes, any book finished in September.

which is fine.. but what are our challenges..this game has already started and we already don't have anything done..

For our remaining books, we need to choose another challenge. You had suggested an A - Z, which is fine by me. We would just need to decide which category (title, author, setting, hero, etc.) and then plan our books to not overlap.
Then I guess we need "one more" challenge. There are a TON to choose from!
Questions:
Do we have to use the same A-Z and "one more" challenge?
Can we read all of our books from "A Book A Day..." and thus not worry about the other challenges?

My Goal: 14 books
“A Book A Day…” (5 books)
(players may overlap)
The Twelve – Option 9
Where’d You Go Bernadette – Option 6
If I stay – Option 16
The Round House – Option 22
Messenger of Truth – Option 19
A – Z Author (5 books)
(Players may not overlap)
Eugenie Grandet by Honore de Balzac (H or B)
Russka by Edward Rutherford (E or R)
Firebird by Susanna Kearsley (S or K)
Divergent by Victoria Roth (V)
Inferno by Dan Brown (D)
One more challenge. I need 4 books.
Let’s assume the A – Z Cooking Challenge.
I will choose Spell it Out for the term
CAKE DECORATING
(I am thinking we can choose different terms to spell out, as long as it comes from the same challenge. i.e., one of the other players can spell out AVOCADO or BUTANE BURNER. We don’t have to complete the Spell it Out, just read books that would fulfill it)
T = Tampa by Alissa Nutting
I = The Island by Elin Hildebrand
R = Roses by Leila Meacham
A = Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Make sense? Would you prefer different challenges? I am open!

CLARIFICATION:
While two members may overlap (or double up) on the options and sub-options for the A Book a Day Keeps the Boredom at Bay Reading Challenge, they may NOT overlap (or double up) on the A-Z challenge they choose.
If you choose something like the September 2013 Takeover Challenge for you 'other' challenge, you may (like the "Book a Day Keeps the Boredom a Bay") use each option twice.

Thanks, Mod!
OK, so for September Takeover Challenge, we can use each option twice. This makes it a bit easier!

Jennifer, yes, Amy is right, you may be given special consideration for your personal circumstances and adjust your goal downward.
It looks confusing, but it's actually easier than it looks!
Once you decide on your goal, you must read 1/3 of your books to fit the challenge "A Book A Day Keeps the Boredom at Bay."
Your remaining books must come from A - Z Author challenge, and the September Mod Takeover challenge.
For the A - Z challenge, we, as a team, cannot repeat letters.

Goal: Total number of your “Team within a Team” participants will need to read a percent of their total goal to earn Book Advantage Points (BAPs). The breakdown is as follows (see Post #2 below for increase in BAPs and another Mango Tango Option): Rules: Your Team must have a minimum of one-third (1/3) of your books from the first challenge, A Book a Day Keeps the Boredom at Bay Reading Challenge. You may then choose the rest, in any percent each of the next two NBRC challenges you choose.
• We will allow members to “double up” on days for the A Book a Day Keeps the Boredom at Bay Reading Challenge; however, not for the A-Z challenge, nor any Spell-It-Out. Of course, if you spell T.I.G.E.R. and C.A.T. (using two "T"s., that is acceptable).
• There must be at least one book in the remaining two challenges, unless you have met your goal in the first challenge.
• Yes, your Team may have only one participant.
• If one member wants to read more to make up another member’s percent, that is fine.
• You do NOT need to complete the selected challenges; just fit your books to the three you choose.
• To give you an advantage, we will round down instead of up to determine the number of books you read.
• Any Team participant at 70% or higher of her (or his) yearly TTRC ‘target goal’ by the August 18th Sunday Update will be considered an ‘outlier’ and will have their goal adjusted for the September BAP Challenge to below 70%. (Remember, this is based on the TTRC ending April 11, 2014. To be ‘on target’ on that day, a Team or participant would be at 35%.) • We will be happy to calculate your “Team within a Team” goal for you. Yes, you may adjust it, if more players wish to join after the start of the month.
• Someone who has had the summer off and is returning to school, has a new job, or has a special event planned in September, etc., may ask for special consideration of their goal.
• Referring to our challenges, choose books that fit: These links might help:

Monthly/Season Challenge Index
Spell It Out - is available in many of the challenges.
Your Team just needs to select books from the sub-options in the Book a Day Keeps the Boredom at Bay Reading Challenge. How many books you read is determined by your goal.
Below is an example of a category's sub-options restrictions. The example we use is for Category #4 from the challenge: Example of a Category's Sub-options Restrictions
Two (2) books per Book A Day Challenge sub-option. Using Category #4 as an example we have two (2) books with a red/blue/white cover, two (2) books set on the US, two (2) books with the US flag on the cover. Or two (2) books where the main character is fighting for his independence or for some greater good.
That is a total of eight (8) books for Category #4. Some categories allow more, some are less.
*Here are A-Z Challenge. The Animal Alphabet Reading Challenge, Cooking & Cookware A-Z, and Herbs & Spices A-Z, etc. actually count as Spell-It-Out challenges. (hide spoiler)]
