Clary seen some weirdness at a club that she couldn't explain to her friend Simon. Finding out that vampires, werewolves, warlock etc actually are real after seeing some teenagers kill another teenager that happened to be a vampire.

To her running into one of the Shadow Hunters Jace again as he explains to her why she can see him. To her mom calling her and a fight breaking out with her mom to get going on being attached by a creature to killing it waking up with Jace help as she's in the shadow hunters home. So far so good. (view spoiler)[ I've read these books before, a few times each, but I think this is the first time that I paid more attention to the details. I have to say that the scene at Pandemonium had played differently in my head. I also just realized that the first time I read the books, I imagined Luke different, it's like I'm reading a whole new book. (hide spoiler)]

I keep imagining Luke as Luke Castellan, but the problem with that is Castellan is like 18 and I think this Luke is in his late twenties early thirties something like that. The only character I like so far is Alec and maybe Jace.

I have never read these books before and am loving it so far. Very easy to read and the world building is done well. I am not lost like most fantasy worlds haha :P Totally agree about Isobel!

I'm at the beach vacation and i did not read at all yesterday. Sat down and read for 2 hours this morning on chapter 15 right now. Loving this book!!!

In the beginning, Clary thinks she knows it all, lol. Maybe Isabel rubs her the wrong way because Isabel is comfortable with who she is and isn't holding that back for Clary's sake like others do--unless she takes a cue from Jace or Alec (or when she gets to know Clary more). Clary might be threatened by girls who are uber-confident. Even though Clary knows who she is in the mundane world, initially she does not know her real place/self in the Shadowhunter world, so it throws off her equilibrium. Once Clary finds her own groove and sees the group's dynamics, she likely will be less critical of Isabel.

On chapter 17 I seen I found out why Isabela is that way towards Clary Isabela used to being the only girl in a group of boys she's threaten by Clary plus hmm Alex secret is reveled and Clary throws that in his face so I see why isabela so threaten by Clary.

Middle of chapter 18

(view spoiler)[ Wow so Jace and Clary went off to save Simon the rat lol. He was taken by some vampires to their lure. Jace breaks all of the rules by going into the vampires lure.
While there all hell breaks lose. Werewolves wants Clary. So werewolves and vampires fighting as Jace, Clary and Simon gets out.
Jace kisses Clary Simon finally reveils he's in love with Clary. (hide spoiler)]

Good point. Clary & Isabel need to realize their lanes cross and that it's not necessarily a bad thing. Makes the group stronger, lol.

Chapters 10-11: (view spoiler)[ Really dug the trip to Silent City to see those party boys, the Silent Brothers (lol, yea, I know they're the opposite of "fun times"). Loved the lore behind those dudes and how Clary's meeting with them was executed--info is doled out in parcels with unique things happening at the same time and it was not info dumped--and you wanna know (so bad) what is up with Clary's mind block. Loved the teasing banter between Jace & Clary as they entered Silent City, too. Good to juxtapose the creepy with the funny.

Anyone else wanna chill & eat at Taki's, too? Seems like the place to rox. I wanna try that smoothie Isabel was touting!

Chapter 22. So 2 chapters left. I have to admit I'm not ready for it to end since I'm waiting for City of Ashes to come in the mail lol. I ordered it I'm just waiting.

The more I read on the more I start to realized why Clary mom went in hiding.

Hodge sold them out for his freedom.
Luke back he saved Clary from Hodge. Luke secret is reveiled. Another wow.
Luke tells how him and Clary met and how they knew Valentine and when everything went to hell and how Clary mother became hidden away from the shadow world and didn't want nothing to do with them nor have her daughter Clary involved. (hide spoiler)]

OMG I really liked this story. I probably will start on City of Ashes tomorrow since I have to start another book for another buddy challenge.

(view spoiler)[ Great read. Kept me on my toes the whole time. Love how the worlds mixes into one another.

Clary find herself wondering why she sees things that others doesn't see. Her first encounter was when her and her find Simon was out a a party and she sees something that just can't be real. Finding out about vampires she just laughed it off.

But once her mom became missing and the boy Jace that killed a vampire pops back into her life she finds out more then she really could have imagined. That their are vampires, werewolves, warlocks, witches and faeries.

With the help from Jace, Alec and Isabella even her friend Simon she's determined to get her mother back. But first she must find the mortal cup that can help her save her mother that just so happened to be a Shadow Hunter like Jace, Alec and Isabella.

Secret her mother kept from her. Mother made sure to wash her memories from every being apart of the Shadow Hunters world, but just so happened Clary ends up in the world anyways.

Secrets are revealed about Clary's life even Jaces.
With Valentine on their tails to get the cup they must act quickly but those that thought they could trust turns out to be the ones they should have kept at a distance.

Great story. I enjoyed giving it 4.5 stars thinking towards the end the battle with Luke and Valentine just took too long LOL. But I did enjoyed find out about everyone's secrets and I can't wait to start part 2 City of Ashes. (hide spoiler)]

I've been busy this weekend with kids, household etc only at first chapter in book 2 since Friday. I will get back to reading probably tomorrow. It's crazy I read more during my work weeks then my off weekends lol.

Alec is acting like a total brat and not much from isabelle. Poor simon was about to tell clary he wanted to be with her. Just finished. im not sure i want to rush into book 2 just yet.
My thoughts are kinda all over the place i need to get the goodreads app on my phone so i can update when im not at home

Simon is such a sweet heart (couldnt stop laughing when he was hiding in the bushes) Luke is well he is luke and i love him. Clary is going through so much yet she is still so brave and will to take anyone on to get her mom. Alec is by far my fav character and issy is amazing. Meeting all the downworlders has been great, I wanted to kill Hodge for betraying everyone i even threw my book when this happened. Clary and jace being brother and sister well what can i say to that. (hide spoiler)]
