Water:
Her Forbidden Hero - N2U

Along Came Trouble - some angst in minor characters, but not so much in the main ones - from your chosen shelf

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Lisa:

Thanks for waiting for your picks. I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize that we were doing them early this month! Anyway, we don't have a ton of books in common, so I tried to pick from your shelves (especially your "want-to-read-next" shelf) and a few that are new to you. I hope you find something you like, if not, let me know and I can repick for ya!

FIRE: I'm a sucker for alpha men. Talk about stubborn, so I went with that for this option. You've got some great books on your TBR for this so I had plenty to pick from.

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh --great start to a great series. Loved this one. And talk about the epitome of alpha. Lucas is yummy and is definitely not taking no for an answer!

Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day --you had book 2 on your shelf but not book one. And you enjoyed the FSOG trilogy, so I think this will be right up your alley. Gideon Cross is definitely stubborn. And he deliciously doesn't tends to ignore "no".

Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill --for something different, I thought we should focus on the girls a bit. Meritt is super stubborn and very strong. I love a kick ass heroine.

WATER: We're going with covers for this one, so I chose,
Wake (Watersong #1) by Amanda Hocking (water), Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1) by Laini Taylor (dark blue), and Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely, #1) by Melissa Marr (dark blue)
but I also decided to throw in Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1) by Jill Shalvis because it's sweet and loving. A little sexy too!

AIR: ANGST is the name of the game here and you have plenty to choose from. LOL, I went with Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire , Just One Day (Just One Day, #1) by Gayle Forman , and Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater . I'm getting Emo just thinking about these!

EARTH: after getting bogged down with all that angst in the last category, I decided not to take myself too seriously, and give you a few laughs. So, I hope one of these fits your fancy:
Something About You (FBI / US Attorney, #1) by Julie James --very cute, more serious out of all of them in this category though
Tangled (Tangled, #1) by Emma Chase --funny and a bit unique in that it's written from the male POV
Wallbanger by Alice Clayton --ha! I'm crackin' up just thinking about this one.
Manhunting by Jennifer Crusie --can't take yourself too seriously with a pink cover and men's drawers on the cover!

Well, I hope that you can find something to read this month!

Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Gea, here are your picks. I hope that you see something that you like. If not, let me know and I can re-pick.

Fire: Causing Havoc by Lori Foster (I haven’t read this one but like her books); Hot as Sin by Bella Andre

Water: Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis is a sweet story about a woman who gives to everyone; Blue cover: Tears of the Renegade by Linda Howard.

Air: The Rake by Mary Jo Putney is a very angst-y book with a hero with issues. Not a romance, but a love story, The Fault in Our Stars is emotional and has a blue cover. It is funny and sad, and I can’t recommend it enough. My book group just read it and everyone loved it.

message 240: by Daffodil (last edited Aug 25, 2013 08:12AM) (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Apilif I'm not as familiar with the m/m genre as others, so I relied mainly on the covers to pick from your TBR. For original picks, I used your favorites shelf as a jumping off place and explored "Readers also enjoyed" & listopia from there. I hope you enjoy your picks, have fun reading in September.

Fire: Fire people are impassioned and devoted lovers, and may tend toward flamboyant romantic gestures. Pick a book with a strong and/or stubborn character, someone who is determined to end up with The One and doesn’t take no for an answer. Or choose a book with a red, yellow or orange cover or with fire on the cover.
Your TBR: The Rebuilding Year by Kaje Harper
Something New: Aidan and Ethan (Seeking Redemption, #1) by Cameron Dane Acrobat by Mary Calmes

Water: Romance comes naturally to Water people; they give and receive love easily. Recommend a book that has a sweet and loving story. Or pick a book with a dark blue cover or one that has water on the cover.
Your TBR: Sunset (Pact Arcanum, #1) by Arshad Ahsanuddin The Island by Lisa Henry
Something New: A Reason To Believe by Diana Copland Out of My Mind by M.L. Rhodes

Air: Since commitment doesn't come naturally to Air they can have difficulty in relationships. Choose an angsty and/or emotional book. Or recommend a book with a white or light blue cover or a book with a blue sky on the cover.
Your TBR: Evenfall (In the Company of Shadows, #1) by Santino Hassell
Something New: Foxe Tail (Skyler Foxe Mystery, #1) by Haley Walsh Among the Living (PsyCop, #1) by Jordan Castillo Price

Earth: The Earth person commits readily, they don’t experience much conflict when choosing to commit, and may not see it as having negative aspects. Recommend a book with little conflict, something light and easy. Or a book with a brown or green cover or a book with any landscape on the cover.
Your TBR: Dreaming of You by Ethan Day
Something New: The Hunting Moon by Evelyn Shepherd

I will try to read

I'm supposed to read The Island by Lisa Henry for a challenge this month, but I might change gears and read it in september.
