If remade into another movie, heaven forbid, who do you think would play Rhett Butler?

Rachel isn't pretty enough."
In the book, Scarlet is described as not being traditionally pretty.
Not that I'm necessarily behind her in the role of Scarlet though, but she's probably better than many of the others.

For Rhett Butler I suggest Angelina Jolie.

I think Gerard Butler is a good choice also!

LOL

I wondered about Gerard Butler, as well, but I think Christian Bale might be a better choice ... although I'm not sure why I think that! Perhaps it would be easier to figure out who should be cast as Rhett if I think about who should be cast as Ashley Wilkes. Thoughts?

Alas, it would never get remade accurately, or I should say, according to the book. With our politically correct society, I don't think they would dare dream a remake of this. Too many ruffled feathers.

scarlett. Many of the actresses mentioned seemed to old for Scarlett. She is really young for the majority of the book and I couldn't see her being played by someone over say 24. It should be a spunky sassy teen or early 20's with blue or green stern eyes. Brown eyes will not do for Scarlett.

Definitely Chris Evans as Ashley.
Alexandra Daddario as Scarlet."
haha.... Rhett Buttler is 50 years old man and Matt Bomer is not... Are you serious about Ashley???
And Scarlet? Have you notice how ugly is mrs Daddario?

And because Scarlett is way too younger than the women you suggest - my suggestion is Taylor Swift or Scarlett Johanson whit black hair

NO!"
WELL! I do declare!

Scarlett would be the tougher casting decision. Someone that is pretty but not in a glamour magazine way, has a partially rotten heart but is not too stupid to learn a moral in the end. She starts out at the age of 16 in the book, so probably the actress should be under 25 or at least look it. I'm going with Emilia Clark but if she's too old then Sophie Turner. Sophie would look terrific with her hair died a brownish black color.

IF they were to do the movie again, it would probably be either an action film (Civil War) or a spoof = ''It ain't fittin'... it ain't fittin'. It jes' ain't fittin'... It ain't fittin'.''

I just feel the original didn't do the book enough justice (don't all lynch me at once)
Love the idea of Mila Kunis for Scarlett, Anne Hathaway as Melanie, George Clooney for Rhett and Ryan Gosling for Ashley...

Love the i..."
HAHA, I feel the same way! I LOVE the movie but when you read the book and then watch the movie it's quite lacking. I think a mini series is really what's needed for this. Or a 3 or 4 part movie.
But alas, I don't see it being remade. We live in a world too many people would be offended. It doesn't fit the new politically correct agenda.

I actually know a real life version of Rhett minus the moustache... Don't think he's inclined to acting though lol

Pedro Pascal for Rhett
Natalie Dormer for Scarlett
Tom Hiddleston for Ashley
Carey Mulligan for Melanie
... and I'd love to see Esme Bianco as Belle. She's gorgeous.
(it just dawns on me that 3 of these people are on Game of Thrones. Oh well.)
