A Constellation of Vital Phenomenon is one of my favourite books. I loved all the characters, even those I hated.

Chrissie I have completed Picasso: Creator And Destroyer. Much of this book focuses on Picasso the destroyer rather than the creator.

Sandysbookaday (taking a step back for a while) (sandyj21) | 1533 comments I have just finished listening to Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys. This book should be compulsory reading for all history classes, although it is historical faction. Moving. Tragic.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I'm a fan of Peter Singer but haven't read all of his books. I believe he coined the term Animal Liberation, if that's what you mean by disruptive. I'm a fan of his views on poverty and altruism and reviewed a couple of books:

How Are We to Live?: Ethics in an Age of Self-Interest

and The Most Good You Can Do: How Effective Altruism Is Changing Ideas About Living Ethically

He was just back home in Australia recently, talking about how to get the most bang for your donated buck. Good man!

PattyMacDotComma I imagine fans will eat it up. :)
Night Watch #4 in the Kendra Michaels series by Iris Johansen.

I haven't read the first three, when she was blind, but she's obviously kept her acute awareness.

Paul (paa00a) | 202 comments I just finished 1984 by George Orwell 1984, which was certainly a timely and eye-opening read, although not quite as good in the end as I'd hoped.

Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

And also bought and read on a whim Speaking of Sin: The Lost Language of Salvation by Barbara Brown Taylor, which I also liked and was a good Lent read.

Basically my thoughts exactly about Allegedly by Tiffany Jackson. It very well may be the best novel I read this year, but it's by and large not a happy story.

Joan, your best bet is probably to check what's on Goodreads and what people say they like or not.

If you google, you will find articles written by him, not just about him. he's a controversial figure, but I think he's both kindhearted and practical. He's an interesting man to listen to in conversation. Here's an article that attracted a lot of comments.

I'm glad I saw your post, Chrissie. I walk past her books on the shelves in my library where I work on a daily basis, and still haven't read her. I will need to change this.
