You probably shouldn't read "Button Boy", a short story by Joe Hill.
I can't wrap my head around this completely submissive woman.
Here is the plot; Kitty norville is a midnight shift DJ and werewolf in the closet. She accidentally starts a late night advice show for the supernaturally disadvantaged.
The Alpha of her pack- described as "alpha's prerogative he fucks whomever he wants whenever he wants. One of the perks of the position." wants her to end the show, bullying her, the usual abusive relation ship stuff, only he's not her boyfriend and his girlfriend is jealous. So now she has to take shit from both pack leaders and she does. She's the lowest member of the pack after three years and likes it. She is constantly raped physically and figuratively thought out the book but does nothing to stop it. She actually waits for someone to save her.
I've never read a book where the protagonist has no backbone. I can't relate to her at all. Yet this book has great ratings. It’s a good story and I want to finish it but it’s so frustrating.
