Welcome to all of the new members ! This is not only a group of readers but a group of wonderful people !
Hi! My name is Rebecca and I have been a member of this group for awhile but have not been active. I decided to join the September readathon and decided to introduce myself!
Hi! I've been in this group for a long time, but never introduced myself..
Raevyn wrote: "Hi! I've been in this group for a long time, but never introduced myself.."Hi Raevyn, nice to have you here. I hope you are enjoying the group.
I'm a Los Angeles-based reader and writer. I read everything but I like books of some difficulty: a big canvas or a provocative idea. Maybe writing that makes you work a little to figure out what's being said. I wrote and self-published a couple of realistic novels set in my home state of New Jersey. They did fine but a year ago I finally sold a novel, which will come out in February 2016.
Well I did a search of the posts after the message came about introducing ourselves, and while I have been hanging out here for a while, it doesn't appear that I did that. I live in Northern New York with my son who is in college, my hubs, a cat and a Miniature Schnauzer. I read multiple books at once, something on paper, on kindle and on audiobooks so I have something no matter where I am. I have led a book club for close to five years now I think. I favor historical fiction, but I read a good variety of things. I will join a group read if it is for a book that I already own and haven't read yet. So my participation is sporadic. I can't pass up a book sale! I also love to cook and collect recipes.
Hello! I'm Ghadeer, and i'm from jordan. I like to read various types of books, but Russian literature is my favorite.
Hi, everyone. I've been playing some of the games here but haven't introduced myself yet. I live in the US and am a life-long reader. I especially enjoy historical fiction and non-fiction and classics, but I read almost anything except horror. I love challenges and word games and making lists. lol I also garden, knit, help out in various community outreaches, and listen to music. I appreciate all the option GR gives me to find and record my books, snoop on what others are reading, and dicover fun things to do.

It's likely you'll find some people who are interested in the same sort of books.
Good day everyone! I have lived in New England all of my life until 2 years ago, when we made the move to Florida and haven't looked back :) I joined Goodreads in June 2012, and it has become my favorite virtual world. I am a member of many groups here, active in most, and have happily tried cataloging all of the books that I have read, and wish to read, and of course those lists will never be finished. I love reading really good fiction (I despise fluffy stuff), as well as historical fiction, biographies and memoirs, and nonfiction on science and history. For the most part, I love reading about people's lives (real or not) and how they have overcome obstacles and learned to live in this world. I'm also a bit of a self-taught techie, so you will see many books on digital art, web design, computer programming along with books on fine art as well, on my shelves. I absolutely love my Goodreads groups, as it gives me the opportunity to continue talking about all kinds of books with other bibliophiles, and participate in fun challenges, at all hours of the day or night!
Hello my name is Dominique and I live in Quebec Canada. I've been on GR for awhile and l'm so happy that it exists. Meeting new people who have the same passion, discovering new books and discussing it so great!
I live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains or mists a lot, but still, we had unusually hot weather for a few weeks this summer. I am a retired mature (in body) woman who loves reading, cat videos and knitting, in that order. I walk and stretch reluctantly for exercise, and it works, unfortunately, because that means I have to keep doing it.
I prefer hardcopy books, but since carrying 10,000 books in my pocket isn't feasible (though the fact it now is possible through digital magic has me jumping for joy) I also own an Ipad and a Kindle (so, did I just confess to being a greedy glutton?). Good thing I've always been a big bag lady, so it hasn't been a big adjustment to switch from carrying three reads (magazines, books) of heavy material to the same weight of my Kindle and/or Ipad (yes, sometimes I grab both. I'm such a fool.)
Hi, I am Therese, from Berkeley, CA. Lo many years ago I earned my MA in English Lit, so love to read and talk books but don't have the time I used to. Love the idea of a Web-based community to get tips from for new reads.
Hi to all the new members!I've been a member of the group for awhile, but I don't think I introduced myself.
My name is Julia and I am originally from NJ, I now live in central Fl w/ my BF of 15 years. I will read anything as long as it holds my interest. I usually lean toward women's fiction, contemporary romance and romantic suspense - but I've been trying to broaden my horizons and have lately been reading memoirs.
In addition to reading I love road/day tripping, garage and estate sale-ing, fresh and salt water fishing, and trying new restaurants in the area. RA runs in my family so I've recently taken up knitting to keep my fingers active.
Hello everyone.! I'm Ashlynette, I'm 22, and I've been a bookworm since I could read.! I'm from Detroit, Mi, now in Ohio. Some hobbies of mine are singing, teaching/tutoring, dancing, researching, and of course reading.! I hope to join in even more discussions and botm's.
Welcome to all who have just introduced and/or just joined... this is a very active wonderful group of readers, you'll learn and laugh, a lot!!!
Hi all. I am Ruth, from Ireland. I am a member about 2 yrs I think :-).I live with my 2 cats who are great for cuddles :-D.
I do shift work and try and read every day but sometimes it can get hectic and then I read a lot during my days off. I will read almost anything except war, ( don't mind if it's in the background of the story but not in the trenches ! lol). Not too fond of chick lit or sci fi. I love thriller, mystery, contemporary gritty, historical fiction, autobiographies/biographies and the classics. I am partial to some poetry also.
My main hobbies are creative ones, jewellery making, crochet, art and cooking. I also love music, antiques, nice smells and wit. Look forward to meeting more friends in here :-)
Hello everyone :)I'm Rosie from Australia! I've only just recently joined this group, but have been using goodreads for a very long time now. Only relatively recently have I actually begun to post reviews and interact with others and find groups! It's opened up a whole new world of reading!
My favourite genre to read would probably be crime/ psychological thrillers. I also love reading autobiographies and non-fiction books related to psychology.
As well as reading I love exercising (particularly running), baking and decorating cakes, playing drums, and yoga. I also work full-time and absolutely love my job! I'm looking forward to chatting more with others about books in this group :)
Hi All!I am Sandy from New Zealand. I also have only recently joined this group although I have been an active member of GR for almost 2 years.
I love mystery/crime/psychological thrillers, but will read almost anything.
I am a publican in the central north Island of NZ, where we have been for the past 10 years, but are looking to move on (preferably back to Qld Australia).
I am a voracious reader, I like to walk, admire other people's gardens, and drink wine with my friends. I am a chocoholic.
Hi All - I'm Jen Hammill from Toronto, ON Canada. I've been in this group for a bit now but not sure if I ever introduced myself. I love sharing great stories and look fwd to adding to my forever growing list.In addition, I'm an avid runner and yoga and of course, a wine lover too :)
It is great finding out about our members :)I am especially glad to see other mystery/crime/thriller fans - I have hesitated to post much here about this part of my reading since it didn't seem to be a match to what others were reading.
Hi Everybody,I am a retired 70 year old with passions for cycling, reading and woodworking in that order.
This is not the first Goodreads book club I have joined but it may be the last because it meets my needs so well. Too many book clubs tend to focus on just one type or genre but I like variety.
My tastes in books are eclectic: in recent years, I have read and enjoyed books by George Eliot, Shelby Foote, Stephen Hawking, Richard Russo and Terry Pratchett, to name a few. I have gotten to know several authors that I might never have read if it were not for this club and I am grateful.
Have I introduced myself? I'm not sure, if I did.My names is James Patrick Joyce and I'm from Kingston, at the mouth of the St Lawrence River. I'm still settling in to GoodReads, for the most part.
Welcome David & James! David, the eclectic and broad range of books are what I like most about AAB too. I belong to a couple of others which are narrowly focused but AAB is "one stop shopping" for me! Classics, contemporary/literary fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama as regular features plus anything else one wants as a readalong... The only downside is I can't keep up with all the wonderful books I hear people discussing!
Hi everyone, I've been here for a while also. But have my hands quite full with kids and life etc etc as many of you are too of course. Commenting physically may not happen most of the time, but following updates and threads does.. For instance, I really want to write a review before I lose it from memory, or even just check out the threads, but my little one needs me, as much as I want to write my thoughts down and have them shared, it's not going to happen when I want it to. That's my take on it anyway! ;))
Suzanne wrote: "Hi everyone, I've been here for a while also. But have my hands quite full with kids and life etc etc as many of you are too of course. But we are glad to have the stray comment when time allows & of course, input into group reads, events, etc.
Hi everyone, I am not new here. I've been on GR since 2013 and a so glad to have found this site. At that time I was getting back into reading and needed some recommendations and wanted to expand my reading. Usually I do the monthly read-a-thon which I look forward to doing. My top genres are: HF, ya, fantasy, christian fiction, sci-fi, mystery and classics. And I am getting to meet new people which is good for me- tend to be very shy and reserved and trying to be more communicative.
Hi all!! I am Jay from Malaysia. I hope you all are doing well and I really enjoy seeing what you guys are reading.
Hi, I'm from Sweden. I've been a member for a long time but never wrote anything here. I have two adult kids and 5 grandchildren. That is my curly coated retriever with me on my avatar - Oscar. I read a lot. I try different genre, but what I like best is when I learn about what makes people tick.....and how historical events mold people.
Hi Everyone! I'm loving all the new stories. Thanks for posting them all here.I'm Petra, from British Columbia, Canada. I've been here awhile. I don't join in as many group reads as I'd like to but I enjoy keeping up with the chatter and commenting on the books we're reading.
Glad that so many of you are adding your thoughts here. Hope to see you in the threads as well.
Hi everyone! Owen Thomas here all the way up here in Alaska. Watching the snow march its way down the mountains. Winter is coming. It's writing season!
At your request - greetings! I don't really have a lot to say in a meet and greet thread but may have overlooked the politeness of popping my head in here when I joined. I read a lot, paint, craft and work full time. Unsurprisingly, I have no children! Nice to meet you all :)
Hello,Thank you for the kind invite. I am a new author of a book of poems and Haiku ... here's wishing poetry is popular, again ;-)
I love to read poetry, History, Bios, and Religion on top of Mysteries, Supernatural Mysteries and Sci Fi/Actions.
Wow! Nice to meet all of you members both new and newly posting. It's great to hear about you all.
I'm Heather, one of the moderators. I, of course, love to read and post in the group but I also have a busy job and my activity here varies. Look forward to getting to know you on the other threads

Hi everybody, my name is Marta and I'm an Italian student. I love reading and I think that's the reason why I'm in this group! I try to read every kind of genre. I love theatre, and I'm a journalist.
Owen wrote: "Hi everyone! Owen Thomas here all the way up here in Alaska. Watching the snow march its way down the mountains. Winter is coming. My son is in living now in Malaysia though only for one year (he could go there because he won a scholarship). He is in Kedah and he is loving his stay, till now he is loving everything about Malaysia. I'm sure he will have a hard time when he must turn back home.
